They doubted him. They trash-talked him. They flagrantly fouled him.
But it was Los Angeles Laker LeBron James who had the final word after his underdog team took down the hotshot Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs, destroying them 125-85 Friday night in Game 6 of their series. The No. 7 seed Lakers now advance, while the No. 2 Grizzlies face an off-season of introspection on their failures.
James normally refrains from social media call-outs during the playoffs. But the Memphis team apparently touched a nerve with The King, and today he responded on two social media accounts.
On Instagram, James quoted rapper Mystikal.
“If you ever see me fighting in the forest with a Grizzly bear, Help The Bear,” he wrote.
Then, on Twitter, he used Jay-Z’s “Trouble” to send a message.

If you were an R&b fan during the 2000s, you probably have fond memories of Nivea’s music. The talented songstress broke on the scene in 2000 when she sang the hook on Mystikal’s hit song “Danger”. The following year, she released her self-titled debut album which included popular songs such as “Don’t Mess with My Man” and “Laundromat”. With her career off to a great start, it seemed like Nivea was on track to become one of the brightest stars of her generation. Mystikal's not taking any plea deals in his rape case and actually believes there's a strong chance the charges will be dropped altogether. The rapper's lawyer, Joel Pearce, tells TMZ ... he recently met with Caddo Parish, Louisiana prosecutors and they offered what seems like a sweet deal. The aggravated rape charge, which carries a life sentence, would be reduced to simple third-degree rape ... with a 25-year max sentence. He says they'd also drop the second-degree kidnapping charge.

Bobby Brown hits back against unnamed detractors on “Like Bobby,” his first new song since 2012.
“Like Bobby” starts out sounding like an early 2000s hit from the rapper Mystikal, full of growly energy that morphs to take into account modern pop trends. When Brown rap-sings over a brassy trap beat, he sounds defiant: “Everybody gonna talk about it, talk about it/ And I don’t really give a fuck about it, fuck about it/ ‘Cause in the end I gotta be real like Bobby B.”

Katharine McPhee has a long and colorful history when it comes to televised karaoke.
VideosSNL Outtake: Paul Ryan, John Boehner Star in ‘Establishment Shuffle’ (Video)
On the positive end of the spectrum, she finished in second place during the fifth season of American Idol — arguably the finest, most patriotic karaoke contest on television — but she also sang “Redneck Woman” on Smash, a song choice that still keeps me up at night. There aren’t a great many artists big enough to help the top grossing nightclub in the world celebrate its seventh anniversary. Hip-hop and bass music icon Diplo fits the bill, though, and he’s uploaded his two-and-a-half-hour set from the March 21st celebration to his SoundCloud account for everyone who wasn’t able to attend.
Before going in, though, it’s worth noting that this was one of Diplo’s more mainstream-friendly performances. Las Vegas nightclubs go for a very specific sound – so where his recent Diplo and Friends set showcased his expert ear for hip-hop, his Xs performance predominantly consisted of big room house and ringtone rap edits.
That said, Diplo‘s DJ set at Xs Las Vegas’ 7th anniversary celebration certainly still had its gems. He was nice enough to scrawl out a tracklist as well, so if you hear something you like then find it by...

New Girl is back, y’all. No disrespect to last week’s premiere, but tonight felt like the level of hilarity, heartstring-pulling, and sharp storytelling that spoiled us last season. To wit, Jess and Nick once more earned their couplehood, from the minute he spit-smoothed her bangs to his final words to her (“I would have noticed you”); the mean girls — and boy — on the sidelines reaffirmed why we loved the loftmates so much; Schmidt was up to his usual douchebag jar-worthy antics… but almost redemptively guilty about his behavior, and Winston got the chance to play with an adorable kitteh.

With all the hype surrounding the controversial album cover, the upcoming short film and the ongoing "G.O.O.D. Fridays" project, there is one fascinating story that has gotten a bit lost in the run up to the release of Kanye West's new album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. During the Los Angeles premiere of "Runaway," West revealed that the next single from the album (the third overall, after "Power" and "Runaway") will be a track called "All of the Lights," and it will feature a staggering list of guest stars. On that track, there are drop-ins from Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Elton John, Fergie, John Legend, The-Dream, Tony Williams, Kid Cudi, Charlie Wilson, Ryan Leslie and La Roux's Elly Jackson. "It's completely seamless and completely ghetto as f---," West said of the track.

Grammy-nominated rapper Mystikal was jailed on Thursday on charges of aggravated rape of a 40-year-old woman. Police in Baton Rouge, Louisiana also charged the musician, whose real name of Michael Tyler, with extortion, along with two other men, Leland Ellis, 36, and Vercy Carter, 34. New Orleans-native Tyler surrendered to authorities early Thursday and was released in the afternoon on $250,000 bond. Authorities claim the three men threatened to tell police that the alleged victim had received checks from the "Shake Ya A**" hitmaker's bank account without his permission. Tyler has been accused of demanding sex in exchange for not turning the woman over to police. He's accused of attacking the woman at his house on July 3. The police statement says Tyler allegedly threatened to hurt her and forced her to perform oral sex on him. Tyler allegedly called Ellis and Carter over to his residence, where he proceeded to rape the woman in front of them, before Ellis and Carter allegedly raped her too. The statement adds, "During the attacks, the victim was repeatedly threatened with prosecution of the checks and great bodily harm. The victim was allowed to leave the residence after the attacks. She was treated and released at a local hospital." Tyler's lawyers and his record company Jive have not returned calls seeking comment.
