Sol Negrin was born on February 16, 1929 in New York City, New York, USA. He was a cinematographer and producer, known for Superman (1978), Kojak (1973) and Baker's Dozen (1982). He was married to Betty Paradisin and Shirley. He died on March 20, 2017 in the USA.

Sol was co-chair of the ICG Educational and Training Committees and a Life Member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, where he has been on the roster for an astonishing 65 years. He was also a member of the Directors Guild of America.
Sol Negrin was presented the Distinguished Service Award by The Society of Camera Operators 2012 Lifetime Achievement Awards, held Feb. 19 at the Leonard Goldenson Theater in Hollywood.
