The twins (Silvana Imam’s Sister and Philip Oros’ Brother) have nothing since their mother passed away. No house. No jobs. No money. Brother doesn’t even have a voice—not since they left Syria long ago. It’s therefore up to Sister to manage for them both. Finding places to squat, talking their way into odd jobs to get paid, and making connections she can hopefully lean on when things get even tougher than they already are. Which is why it’s nice to have someone like their cousin Petri (Lukas Malinauskas) looking out. He works for a big-shot entrepreneur, Yann (Henrik Norlén), who could use a duo as desperate and volatile as these soft-spoken yet tenacious bruisers. And they’re only happy to oblige. Until they discover their task.
Writer-director Isabella Carbonell talks about wanting Dogborn to depict the complexity of the unfortunate souls caught inside the dark world of her setting.

Netflix has ordered “The Unlikely Murderer,” a Swedish limited series based on Thomas Pettersson’s eponymous 2018 award-winning book.
The five-part drama series is a fictional interpretation of how Stig Engström, the graphic designer named as the suspected murderer of Sweden’s prime minister Olof Palme, managed to elude justice right up to his death through a combination of audacity, luck and a perplexed police force.
Engström’s murder was not planned well, he did everything wrong from the beginning and almost no one believed his lies about what he actually did during that fateful night in 1986 in Stockholm, Sweden. The series will question how police could have let the suspect get away, despite tracking him.
The series is written by Wilhelm Behrman and Niklas Rockström. Charlotte Brändström (“The Witcher”) is the conceptual director and will helm the first two episodes of the show.
The Swedish-language series will be produced by Flx,...

Part of my love of Nordic Noir is the dark style and tone of a lot of the shows. Modus is my latest for review, and is a beautifully dark tale pitting killer against psychologist. Almost pitch black in its style, the fact it reminded me of Hannibal in many ways is a very good sign…
When Inger Johanne Vik’s (Melinda Kinnaman) daughter is saved from the path of a speeding truck by a seemingly passing stranger (Marek Oravec) little does she know that it would be this man who pulls her back into profiling. Working with Ingvar Nyman (Henrik Norlén) on a murder case, Vik has no idea that the encounter with the stranger has also put her daughter in danger.
In Modus we are introduced to the killer straight away, though we know little about him. The most enticing of relationships though is of him and the daughter.
