Exclusive: Female and non-binary filmmaker-focused international training initiative Circle has kicked off its inaugural Circle Fiction Orbit initiative at a meeting in Montenegro and unveiled the participants.
The new program extends Circle’s activities beyond its founding Woman Doc Accelerator program, which has supported some 50 non-fiction projects since its launch five years ago.
Employing the same methodology as the Doc Accelerator, the inaugural fiction initiative is supporting five fiction projects in development.
They include Greenlandic birthday party-set drama Kaffemi, from director Pipaluk Jørgensen, whose short film Ivalu was Oscar nominated this year, and screenwriter-actress Nukâka Coster Waldau.
Italian director Irene Dionisio participates with Idda about two childhood friends who reconnect as they scale the perilous slopes of Mount Etna. Dionisio previously made waves with Pawn Streets which played in Venice Critics’ Week.
Finnish director Laura Hyppönen and producer Merja Ritola (Greenlit Productions) are attending with Lex Julia, exploring the dynamics...

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has one talented family. While the Danish star is known for his roles in "The Last Things He Told Me" and "Game of Thrones," his wife, Nukâka Coster-Waldau, is a successful singer and actor herself. The couple, who got married in 1998, have two daughters, and unsurprisingly, they're in the acting business, too.
In October 2000, Nikolaj and Nukâka became parents for the first time when they welcomed their first daughter, Filippa. Three years later, the pair expanded their family with the arrival of their second daughter, Safina, in November 2003.
In April 2016, Nikolaj - who portrayed Jaime Lannister on "Game of Thrones" from 2011 to 2019 - opened up about his daughters in an interview with the New York Post. Although the rest of the world was glued to the show at the time, Nikolaj admitted that his kids weren't among the series's viewers. "Work is work. It's not something we sit down and enjoy,...

"The Flash"'s premiere was a family affair for Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The actor brought daughters Filippa, 22, and Safina, 19, to celebrate the superhero film's debut in Los Angeles on June 12, marking a rare appearance for the trio. They posed together on the red carpet wearing casual-chic outfits - Nikolaj layered a chartreuse top under a gray plaid suit, Safina paired a beige jacket with gray pants, and Filippa wore a black long-sleeved dress with brown cowboy boots. Other stars in attendance included Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle, Kiersey Clemons, Michael Shannon, and Jessica Chastain.
Nikolaj shares Filippa and Safina with his wife, Nukâka Coster-Waldau, whom he married in 1998. Both Filippa and Safina are following in their father's footsteps as actors, portraying sisters in the Danish teen drama "Salsa," among other roles. Though Nikolaj tends to keep his family life pretty private, he's made a few public appearances with his daughters through the years.

Danish “Game of Thrones” star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, his wife Danish-Greenlandic multihyphenate Nukâka Coster-Waldau, who is a former Miss Greenland, and Baltasar Kormákur, the Icelandic filmmaker whose Hollywood credentials include “Everest,” have joined forces to put their promotional muscle behind the Arctic Indigenous Film Fund, established by the International Sámi Film Institute in Norway.
The trio of top Nordic talents have come on board as Ambassadors of the Aiff fund, launched in 2018 to support the development of Indigenous filmmakers from the Arctic and to support the production of their films and TV series.

Ok, so Jon Snow is engaged to his Wildling lover Ygritte—yes, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are a real-life couple and they're really getting married. So if the Winterfell hottie is taken, what about the other Game of Thrones hunks? Thirsting for Jaime Lannister? Or Daario Naharis? Or Khal Drogo (may be Rip)? Too bad. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime, has been married to Greenlandic actress and singer Nukâka since 1998. They have two daughters together. Michiel Huisman, aka Game of Thrones' Daario Naharis, is married to Dutch actress Tara Elders, with whom he shares a daughter. Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo, and wife...
