Although many TV series have recently been given the axe due to budgetary concerns within the new Warner-Discovery merger, development continues on a live-action TV series drama based on author James Fenimore Cooper's "The Last Of The Mohicans", as HBO Max looks to attract the same audience as Starz historical romance series "Outlander":
"...the new take is a retelling of the novel's early French and Indian Wars, that focuses on an 'unlikely' romance between 'Uncas', a young 'Mohican'...
"...and Cora, the mixed-race daughter of a British colonel..."
TV Pilot for the series was written by Emmy winner Cary Joji Fukunaga ("True Detective") and Nick Osborne ("All About Steve") with Nicole Kassell ("Watchmen") attached to direct.
"The Last of the Mohicans", later retitled "Hawkeye and the Last of the Mohicans" was a 1957 TV series, running one season of 39 half-hour episodes, starring John Hart and Lon Chaney Jr. Click the images to enlarge.

The fact-based story about former U.S. Army sergeant Charles Robert Jenkins’ four decades of living in North Korea is to be produced as an English-language limited TV series.
Peter Landesman will direct the series for South Korean financing and production company Moving Pictures Company.
Writer Nick Osborne, who most recently adapted the “Last of the Mohicans” series for HBO Max, is adapting the non-fiction book “The Reluctant Communist: My Desertion, Court-Martial, and Forty-Year Imprisonment in North Korea,” co-written by Jenkins and Time journalist Jim Frederick.
Events began in 1965, some 13 years after the end of the inter-Korean war, when Jenkins abandoned his post in South Korea and walked across the militarized border into North Korea. He believed his action would get him back to the U.S. and earn him a short jail sentence. Instead, he found himself in another sort of prison, living for 40 years under a repressive Communist autocracy.

Mark Wahlberg isn't starring in a remake of "The Crow," but that doesn't mean he won't be saying hi to another bird's mother in the near future.

Wahlberg is co-producing alongside his colleague Steve Levinson, with Underground Films trio Nick Osborne, Trevor Engelson and Oly Obst executive producing.
Justin Marks will write the film's screenplay, which is in development as a starring vehicle for Wahlberg.
Although the title is doubtlessly setting off alarms in the brains of Edgar Allan Poe enthusiasts everywhere, Wahlberg's "The Raven" is a decidedly different affair from that old horror tale — though it would be a kick seeing Wahlberg as Poe, wouldn't it?

And no, he won’t be quoting Edgar Allan Poe while he’s doing it, either. Mark Wahlberg’s “Raven”, which he has signed on to produce and star, is not to be confused with the crime flick “The Raven” starring John Cusack as every emo’s hero, but will instead be an original film set, one presumes, sometime in the near future. It does, after all, involve robot cops and such. The film will be based on Ricardo De Montreuil’s short film of the same name, and will star Wahlberg as “a young man with powers being chased around downtown Los Angeles by robotic police drones, while a giant police ship coordinates the effort from the skies above.” See what I mean? Robot police drones? A giant robot ship in the sky? Sounds futuristic to me. Nick Osborne, Trevor Engelson and Oly Obst of Underground Films will executive produce,...

In his new film, the romantic drama “Remember Me,” Robert Pattinson plays Tyler, a rebellious young man in New York City who has had a strained relationship with his father (Pierce Brosnan) ever since tragedy separated their family.
Tyler didn’t think anyone could possibly understand what he was going through until the day he met Ally (Emilie de Ravin) through an unusual twist of fate. Love was the last thing on his mind, but as her spirit unexpectedly heals and inspires him, he begins to fall for her. Through their love, he begins to find happiness and meaning in his life. But soon, hidden secrets are revealed, and the circumstances that brought them together slowly threaten to tear them apart.
“Remember Me” is an unforgettable story about the power of love, the strength of family, and the importance of living passionately and treasuring every day of one’s life.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm now a fan of Robert Pattinson. He was sweet and shy in person, and he had such honest vulnerability.
When I interviewed him for "Remember Me," we talked about:
*** His involvement with the film (apparently, they offered him "Remember Me" prior to the first "Twilight" -- after "Twilight" came out, he could have easily said no to "Remember Me," but the actor was true to his words, and he really loved the script!)
*** His character, Tyler
*** Working with Ruby Jerins
*** How he identifies with the character

Emilie de Ravin was sweet and good-natured in person. In the film "Remember Me," she plays Ally, the love interest of Robert Pattinson.
In the interview, Ravin revealed:
*** the romantic element of the film
*** what attracted her to the character, Ally
*** the bond between her character and her father, Chris Cooper's Sgt. Neil Craig
*** playing a tough New Yorker
*** her love scenes with Pattinson

*** He will Never star in a James Bond movie ever again!

My initial reaction upon hearing that Chris Cooper was starring in a romantic drama, I was like, "why?" Upon seeing the film, I now understand. So here's Academy Award-nominated actor, Chris Cooper, talking about:
*** Why he chose to work on "Remember Me"
*** His character, Sgt. Neil Craig
*** The father-daughter relationship he had in the film with Emilie De Ravin
*** Working in the Philippines for independent film pioneer John Sayles for the new movie "Baryo"

The iTunes-hosted podcast series of Pattinson talking with the filmmaking team from Remember Me may be your best chance ever to hear him speak without a chorus of screeching tween girls in the background. It's nice listening to him talk intelligently about actual, you know, moviemaking, as opposed to answering questions about his hairstyle or Taylor Lautner's abs. Also on the chat are director Allen Coulter, producer Nick Osborne, and writer Will Fetters -- and they all seem to have great chemistry and natural conversation flow. Robert Pattinson thinks his role in 'Remember Me' is ''perfect''. The British actor loved taking a break from the 'Twilight' films and was thrilled to spend a couple of months working on the romantic drama movie - in which he portrays young rebel Tyler Hawkins, a man who calls in love with Ally Craig, played by Emilie de Ravin, under unusual circumstances. He explained: ''I looked at 'Remember Me' after the first 'Twilight' film, and met director Allen Coulter and producer Nick Osborne and really liked it, but never knew if anything was going to come of it. Warner Bros. Pictures is bringing Emily Post to the big screen. According to Variety, the studio is developing an untitled romantic comedy that will play off the late Post's bestselling book "Etiquette" (which is currently in its seventeenth edition) and the empire it led to which includes books, etiquette coaching and seminars. The story is being described as a "My Fair Lady" with the gender roles reversed and tells of a prissy Emily Post manners coach who manages to turn a rough-around-the-edges guy into a proper gentleman. Warners liked the treatment written by Nick Osborne from Underground Films. Osborne will produce with Trevor Engelson of Underground.

Warner Bros. is strutting back into animation.
The studio is in final negotiations to acquire a pitch centering on a peacock from writers Austin Winsberg and Heath Corson.
Trevor Engleson and Nicholas Osborne will produce via their Underground Management banner; Elishia Holmes will oversee for the studio. The logline is being kept under wraps.
The move marks a bolstering of animation efforts for Warners., which was once very active in the sector but had since scaled back its theatrical efforts. It did, with director George Miller, develop and produce 2006's "Happy Feet," the music-themed penguin pic that earned nearly $380 million worldwide and won the animation Oscar. New York -- Josh McGuire, a young manager who counts Black List scribe Jason Micalleff among his clients, has joined Trevor Engleson and Nick Osborne's Underground Management.
McGuire comes from Washington Square Arts, where he repped a host of lit clients, including Micalleff, the writer behind "Butter." That script was the third-ranked screenplay on last year's Black List and is set up at Mandate with Jennifer Garner attached to star.
McGuire had been at the boutique Washington Square Arts for three years. Underground reps up-and-comers such as "War of Gods" scribes the Parlapanides brothers as well as the Hageman brothers, who are writing Warner Bros.' new Lego project.
The company also counts "License to Wed" and upcoming Robert Pattinson drama "Remember Me" among its producing credits.
