Seal Team is coming to an end.
The military drama series starring David Boreanaz will conclude on the Paramount+ streaming service with its seventh season, which is set to go into production in early December and will air in 2024.
Originating on CBS, the series moved to Paramount+ with its sixth season. The show was renewed by Paramount+ for Season 7 in January and obviously production was impacted by both the writers and actors strikes.
The stand-alone movie that was announced last year, days after its Season 6 renewal, however, is no longer moving forward.
The pickup came two months after the Season 6 finale, which ended on a cliffhanger. This two month delay, which led fans to launch another social media campaign to ensure the show continues, was in part due to talks about finding ways to produce the series more efficiently for streaming, rather than as a broadcast drama, where the series originated.

The David Boreanaz-led Seal Team will be back for another go-round on Paramount+: the ViacomCBS streamer has renewed the military drama series for a 10-episode sixth season.
This makes it two-for-two, with both CBS drama series that moved from CBS to Paramount+ last May, Evil and Seal Team, earning pickups for another season as Paramount+ originals.
The decision is not a surprise. In Paramount+’s 2021 end-of-year report on its top original content performers, the streamer revealed that the most watched original drama series on the platform (Paramount+ classifies drama Star Trek: Discovery a sci-fi series) was Seal Team, followed by Evil.
Both crime series already had done well on Paramount+/CBS All Access while they were airing on CBS; their transition to streaming-only appears to have brought over loyal viewers from the broadcast network, which had been the goal for the move.

Recently, Josh Malerman was able to splurge in a way many indie rockers can’t. At a book store in East Lansing, Michigan, he stumbled upon a copy of Stephen King’s 1977 novel Rage, a school-shooting tale written under his Richard Bachman pseudonym that’s been out of print for years. Despite the hefty price — $350 — Malerman snapped it up. “It was a crappy, beat-up version,” he says. “To me, that was a crazy thing to do.”
For roughly two decades, Malerman has been singing, writing songs and playing guitar with his band the High Strung,...

This morning, the European Parliament voted in favor of a contentious copyright law -- the most debated article of which, Article 13, will force large platforms like YouTube to be more stringent in their removal of copyrighted content. Significantly, though, one of the proposed provisions of that article, which would have required platforms to prescreen content for potential copyright violations, has been removed from the final form of the law.
Another hotly contested article, Article 11, has not notably changed from draft to passing. Article 11 gives news organizations the right to make search engines and news aggregators seek licenses in order to link to their news content.
Parliament will vote one final time on the law in January. (It’s expected to pass and firmly become law.) British IP lawyer Mark Owen, a partner at international law firm Taylor Wessing, tells Tubefilter that if and when the law is adopted, “We can...

A stage invasion took place during tonight's live X Factor show (November 8).
As Stereo Kicks performed their rendition of Michael Jackson's 'You Are Not Alone', Lee Nelson - the alter-ego of comedian Simon Brodkin - ran onto the stage before being escorted off.
All four judges praised the band for their professionalism during the incident, with Simon Cowell joking that Louis Walsh had added yet another member to the eight-piece group.
Mel B then revealed that Cheryl Fernandez-Versini originally thought the invader was Take That's Mark Owen.
An official spokesperson for The X Factor told Digital Spy: "During Stereo Kicks' performance this evening, there was a brief disturbance on stage, which was immediately dealt with by security. The performance continued as planned."
Nelson ultimately took responsibility for the prank in a series of Twitter messages, writing: "There are so many of them I thought anyone could have a go.

The X Factor fans are reportedly betting on Olly Murs to replace Gary Barlow as a judge on the singing competition.

The Take That singer will appear in some capacity in the festive animation Saving Santa, he is quoted as saying in The Sun.

The anonymous author who penned a national bestseller chronicling the dramatic raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound is breaking his silence.
“Mark Owen,” a former Navy Seal who was in the room when bin Laden was killed by the specialized U.S. military team, will be on Sunday’s episode of 60 Minutes. In a rare move, 60 Minutes is dedicating its entire hour to the segment.
The discussion is billed as the only interview given by Owen, who uses a pseudonym for security and wrote the book No Easy Day about the raid. Some criticized Owen for breaking ranks to describe the secret mission.

Check out the first trailer for the true story “Captain Phillips”, starring Tom Hanks as the titular Phillips, a cargo ship Captain who is taken hostage by Somali pirates who think they’re about to get rich. They, uh, were wrong. Why? Because you can hijack cargo ships from other countries, but try that shit with an American cargo ship and we send the Navy SEALs after your ass. Which is precisely what happened here. I’ve actually read a true-life account of this in the Mark Owen book “No Easy Day”, where he talks about being part of the support crew that took out the pirates. From the way Owen tells it, Phillips ended up having Stockholm Syndrome during his captivity. I’m not sure if that’s going to show up here, though the trailer certainly looks intense enough even without that. The true story of Captain Richard Phillips...

Anybody 'needing' a potted history of all that was good and bad about industrially-constructed pop over the last decade or so need look no further than The Big Reunion.
For this perfect slice of ITV2 fare, instead of going to all the trouble of contriving a new band from a bunch of nobodies, somebody had the bright idea of taking a load of yester-somebodies, putting them in a room together and seeing what happened. The excuse was a one-off concert and a last shot at fame for these once bright 20-somethings, now emerged blinking from their pop bubble with varying degrees of dignity, humour and cynicism. The result was Celebrity Big Brother meets Where Are They Now? meets a particularly confrontational antagonistic episode of Mr and Mrs.

While Kathryn Bigelow's film about the hunt for Osama bin Laden has been ridiculed for its Arabic dialogue, CIA secrecy prevents historians from fully assessing its accuracy
Director: Kathryn Bigelow
Entertainment grade: B–
History grade: C
Osama bin Laden was the leading figure in al-Qaida. His involvement with terrorist activity, particularly the attacks of 11 September 2001, made him one of the FBI's most wanted men. He was assassinated by an American special forces unit in Pakistan on 2 May 2011.

Setting itself up as a harder-edged and slightly less bonkers version of Homeland, Zero Dark Thirty follows Maya (Jessica Chastain), a fiercely driven, socially awkward CIA agent, on her pursuit of Osama bin Laden. She seems to be inspired by a real agent known as 'Jen' in No Easy Day, an account of the assassination mission written by former Navy Seal Mark Bissonnette under the pseudonym Mark Owen. How much resemblance Maya bears to reality – indeed,...

Robbie Williams insists he is still a member of Take That. The 'Candy' hitmaker rejoined the group - which he quit in 1995 - for an album and tour in 2012 and despite subsequently releasing a new solo album, 'Take The Crown', and announcing a European tour, he says it doesn't mean he has left the band. However, Robbie admits he is unsure when he will work with Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald again. He said: 'Am I rejoining Take that? I haven't officially left. This is all written now, what happens with me and the boys, it's up to us to write what configuration, what happens, how we sing it, where we go if we...

A new poster for Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty gives away a whole lot more about the film and Jessica Chastain's character than you may previously know with a tagline reading "For ten years one woman never stopped searching for the most wanted man in history." Just who exactly is this woman? Well, to the best of anyone's knowledge she is being referred to only as "Jen", an unnamed female CIA analyst according to ex-seal and "No Easy Day" author Mark Owen (not his real name) in an interview piece with "60 Minutes" (via Yahoo). Host of the piece, Scott Pelley, says, "One of the passengers on their plane was a CIA analyst who had spent five years on bin Laden's trail." It was her intel and confidence that led Seal Team Six to bin Laden's Abbottabad compound in Pakistan. Owen adds in the "60 Minutes" interview, "I can't give her enough credit.

Robbie Williams was upset by the success Take That enjoyed when they reformed. The 'Candy' singer insists he was happy that his former bandmates - Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald - decided to perform together again in 2006 but admits he didn't want them to do as well as they went on to. Robbie - who quit the band in 1995, months before they split, and rejoined in 2010 - admitted: 'When the boys first got together, I was pretty much, 'Oh, right, OKÂ?' 'Then it was, 'They've sold 275,000 tickets... they've done what?!' 'I was gobsmacked. Gobsmacked in all manner of everything. Sort of, 'Wow, we meant that much to people, that's great. They mean...

Washington -- Seven members of the secretive Navy Seal Team 6, including one involved in the mission to get Osama bin Laden, have been punished for disclosing classified information, senior Navy officials said Thursday
Four other SEALs are under investigation for similar alleged violations, one official said.
They are alleged to have divulged classified information to the maker of a video game, "Medal Of Honor: Warfighter."
Each of the seven received a punitive letter of reprimand and a partial forfeiture of pay for two months. Those actions generally hinder a military member's career.
The deputy commander of Naval Special Warfare Command, Rear Adm. Garry Bonelli, issued a statement acknowledging that nonjudicial punishments had been handed out for misconduct, but he did not offer any details.
"We do not tolerate deviations from the policies that govern who we are and what we do as sailors in the United States Navy," Bonelli said.
