- At one time in 1992, he had three of his movies in theaters at the same time, Hero (1992), the reissue of Blade Runner (1982) and the Oscar winning Unforgiven (1992).
- Wrote an adapted screenplay of the novel To The White Sea by author & poet James Dickey. It was set to be directed by the Coen Brothers and went into development in the late 90's with Brad Pitt to set to star. The Coen Brothers penned their own screenplay borrowing heavily from the David Webb Poeples version. But the film never got past the development phase, mainly for budget concerns. Pitt, The Coens, and Peoples have all expressed disappointment through the years in it's failure to get made at the time.
