Writer/producer Mark B. Perry ("The Wonder Years") is shopping "Dark Shadows: Reincarnation" as a streaming, live-action episodic TV series, continuing from the original (1966-1971) daytime Gothic horror soap opera "Dark Shadows":
"’Barnabas’, ‘Angelique’ and ‘Josette’ is the greatest Gothic horror triangle,“ said Perry, "and it’s such a great origin story, but it’s been told and I want to move on from that.”
“‘Dark Shadows’ was not a vampire show. It had a lead character that was a vampire, and he certainly became one of the biggest presences on the show, but there were ‘werewolves’ and ‘witches’ and ‘zombies’ and everything else.
“I envisioned the show continuing that tradition of being a Gothic horror romance ensemble show where the door is open for any kind of literary references, characters or creatures.
“‘Barnabas’ being the first vampire with a conscience, he let us see the human side of being a monster.

Rumor has it that The CW and Warner Bros. Television are in the process of developing a new series based on the classic 60’s cult series “Dark Shadows”. There is no word on just how the new series will differ for the classic series which blended together elements of a soap opera and comedy. It is said that the pilot for the series will be written by Mark B. Perry. A big fan of the original show, which he watched as a child when he came home from school, the showrunner has been after the adaptation rights for Dark Shadows for the last two years. This latest version will be “a modern-day continuation of the strange, terrifying, and sexy saga of the Collins family of Collinsport, Maine — a mysterious, influential, publicity-shy group hiding a ghastly secret: for the past 400 years, they’ve lived under a curse that bedevils their blue...

The CW is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to bring old shows back to the air in some form.
Deadline is reporting that the young-skewing network is eyeing a Dark Shadows sequel series which would be a continuation of the original series.
It would pick up with the supernatural Collins family in modern-day Collinsort, Maine.
This means the network would be bringing another series set in a world where vampires exist could be coming to the network.
Tonally, Dark Shadows: Reincarnation is said to “harken back to the original,” and will be written my Revenge scribe, Mark B. Perry.

We have a report today that will probably make fans of the original Dark Shadows pretty happy. The CW and Warner Bros. have lined up a sequel series for the cult classic horror drama/soap opera, and it will be called Dark Shadows: Reincarnation.
Deadline reports that the new series will be a “modern-day continuation of the strange, terrifying, and sexy saga of the Collins family of Collinsport, Maine — a mysterious, influential, publicity-shy group hiding a ghastly secret: For the past 400 years, they’ve lived under a curse that bedevils their blue blood with every imaginable supernatural creature and horror.”
The series is being written by Mark B. Perry, who was a writer on my favorite series of all time, The Wonder Years, as well as Party of Five and Ghost Whisperer. Perry was a huge fan of the original series as a kid, and has always dreamed of remaking this series.

The Wonder Years
Cast: Fred Savage, Josh Saviano, Danica McKellar, Dan Lauria, Alley Mills, Daniel Stern, Jason Hervey
Due Out: October 7, 2014
Who’S It For? “The Wonder Years” is timeless. Thankfully it doesn’t feel dated simply because I was a child of the ’80s trying to understand life in the late ’60s. “The Wonder Years” was my gateway drug to a nostalgia I didn’t even know. Like many of you, I grew up with Kevin. I hoped for Winnie, I had friends like Paul (and probably was Paul more than I realized).
I can’t wait to show “The Wonder Years” to my son. I’ll have to wait, because he hasn’t even turned two yet, but now I have six episodes to show him, and hopefully that will just be the beginning.
TV Score: 10/10

Revenge, Season 2, Episode 21: “Truth, Part 1”
Written by Michael Foley and Nikki Toscano
Directed by Randy Zisk
Revenge, Season 2, Episode 22: “Truth, Part 2”
Written by Mike Kelley and Mark B. Perry
Directed by J. Miller Tobin
Airs Sundays at 9pm (Et) on ABC
This season of Revenge has been as rocky as the dark seas by the Hamptons, but the second season finale, “Truth, Part 1” and “Truth, Part 2”, is an incredibly powerful, often emotional episode that proves to be a game changer in many ways.
Until the explosion that rocks Grayson Global at the end of the first hour it’s slow, mostly set up for a nonstop and engaging second half. The show makes an interesting choice in giving Takada his own revenge box. This season of Revenge seemed to be all about putting new twists on old stories and the realization that Takada has had his own agenda...

Revenge, Season 2, Episode 1: “Destiny”
Written by Mike Kelley and Mark B. Perry
Directed by Kenneth Fink
Airs Sundays at 9 pm (Et) on ABC
Emily (Emily VanCamp) might have started to see the light at the end of the tunnel at the end of last season, but things started to fall apart pretty quickly when Amanda (Margarita Levieva) returned pregnant with Jack’s (Nick Wechsler) baby, Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) tried to kill herself, Victoria’s (Madeleine Stowe) plane crashed, Daniel (Josh Bowman) and Ashley (Ashley Madekwe) began an affair, and Nolan (Gabriel Mann) informed Emily that her mother was possibly alive.
As the new season opens, we learn that Charlotte is still alive and in a sober living facility, hoping to take her mother’s place at her Memorial Day art auction, Jack is pulling away from the now heavily pregnant Amanda after his one night stand with Emily,...

Revenge Review Season 1, Episode 13, “Commitment”
Written by Mark B. Perry & Liz Tigelaar
Directed by Kennet Fink
Airs Wednesdays at 10pm Et on ABC
Louis Godfrey: Since the beginning, we’ve known that Revenge is headed towards Emily and Daniel’s engagement party at the end of the summer, at which Daniel will be shot on the beach (possibly by Jack, although we can’t be sure just yet). If last week set the pins for that eventuality, this week’s episode, “Commitment,” gets the ball rolling. And if you are going to have an engagement party, naturally you have to have an engagement. Daniel proposes to Emily in the rain and, with her chest heaving like she’s about to have a panic attack, Emily accepts without hesitation. The scene is fascinating, mostly because Emily’s reaction is both controlled and revealing – where is that anxiety that she’s fighting coming from?...
