Before becoming an actor in the early sixties, he was called one of the
most elegant and sophisticated magic acts in the world.
Started his career in 1952 and shot to stardom with an appearance on
Ed Sullivan's "Toast of the Town" show in 1954. He never spoke a word in
his act.
Handsome, serious, dapper magician noted for his elegance and grace,
best known for setting the standard of producing doves from thin
air.
Occasional actor in Hollywood and in Europe, he died in Las Vegas of
cancer at age 79.
Mexican magician A.J. Cantu became famous working with doves. His magic
inspired Pollock.
An extremely handsome man, Pollock would perform his entire act with a
deadpan expression on his face ... but then would smile, for the first
and only time, when he took his bow at the finish.
Survived by his son. Second wife Corri predeceased him by a few
years.
