For any television series reaching its 100th episode, looking back is a given, but there aren’t many shows with a 35-year history like ABC’s “The Conners,” the sitcom following the blue-collar family with an affinity for getting knocked down by life’s struggles while making us laugh along the way. “It’s just lucky, I guess,” says John Goodman, who plays patriarch Dan Conner. “Now all of a sudden, it’s 100 episodes. I can’t believe how fast the time went by, but I guess that’s just because I’m getting old.”

After a genre-defining golden age from 1978 to 1984, slashers continued to proliferate cinemas throughout the rest of the ’80s. By the time the ’90s rolled around, however, diminishing returns for franchises and newcomers alike made it seem as though the slasher well had run dry. But, like its bottomless repository of knife-wielding villains, the genre has proven that it can never be stopped. During the dry period before Scream revitalized slashers in 1996, savvy filmmakers began leaning into the campy elements as a response to dwindling audiences rooting for the villains rather than fearing them. Dr. Giggles was just what the doctor ordered.

The 1992 horror comedy slasher Dr. Giggles (watch it Here) is getting a Blu-ray release courtesy of Scream Factory on March 21st – and copies can be pre-ordered at This Link!
Dr. Giggles was directed by Manny Coto, who rewrote the original screenplay by Graeme Whifler so extensively that Whifler was able to take the original script and get another movie out of it.. Dr. Giggles ended up with the following synopsis: It has been 35 years since the small town of Moorehigh discovered why Dr. Rendell kept losing his patients: he was ripping their hearts out in a twisted attempt to save his ailing wife. The townspeople stoned Rendell to death, but they never found the young son with the hideous giggle who helped his deranged father perform the operations. Now, over three decades later, Dr. Rendell’s son returns to gain revenge on Moorehigh’s residents, and he’s not shy about making house calls.

Not too many series make it to five seasons and those that do often feel like they've run out of gas by the time they get there. It's incredibly rare for a show's final season to be its best and yet, that's somehow the case with "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" spinoff, "Angel." After a strong, but largely episodic freshman outing, the series evolved into a truly great show in its 2nd and 3rd seasons, expanding on Angel's own mythology and exploring the complexities of what it means to fight an unwinnable battle. Things fell apart with season 4, which, despite having its moments, was far too serialized for its own good and also suffered from creatives whose focus was majorly split.
"Angel" is all about redemption, so what better season could there be than the one in which the show redeems itself? Thanks to a major paradigm shift, the spinoff returned revitalized for its fifth season,...

ABC’s “The Conners” isn’t really a sitcom. It’s more a “human comedy.” Just as “Roseanne”, created by star Roseanne Barr and Matt Williams, was praised for offering a realistic look at middle-class life while delivering the laughs, so too has the spinoff which is set to return to for its fourth season this fall.
This year, the sprawling Conner family living in the fictional Lanford, Illinois was hit hard by Covid-19. There was unemployment. Dan (John Goodman) nearly lost the family home. His girlfriend Louise (Katey Sagal) got the virus. Becky (Lecy Goranson) went off the wagon and into rehab where she had an emotional confrontation with her father Dan. Darlene (executive producer Sara Gilbert) and her boyfriend Ben (Jay R. Ferguson) went through some rough patches. Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) struggled to keep the restaurant Lunch Box afloat but found love with Louise’s brother Neville (Nat Faxon), the town’s vet.

The Conners finally got to the root of Becky’s alcoholism on Wednesday. In the process, the Roseanne spinoff at last revealed how her late husband tragically died.
Though Mark’s death was referenced several times during Roseanne‘s first (and only) revival season — Darlene and David’s son was named in his honor — it was never revealed how he passed. (Portrayer Glenn Quinn suffered a fatal drug overdose in 2002, but The Conners never suggested that Mark met a similar fate.)

The “Angel” cast will celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary with a panel at New York Comic-Con this fall. Well, minus Angel himself, that is.
On Tuesday, NYCC announced a reunion has been set with stars Charisma Carpenter, James Marsters, J. August Richards, Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker for the fan convention, which runs October 3-6. Noticeably absent from that lineup is David Boreanaz, who played the titular vampire detective on the Joss Whedon-created “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” spinoff.
Boreanaz previously hinted during a March appearance on “The Talk” there was something brewing for “Angel’s” upcoming 20th anniversary in October, but he told TheWrap last month that he didn’t “know what’s going to happen.”

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2017 and its spinoff series, “Angel,” is hitting the big 2-0 itself this fall. And in honor of that momentous occasion, David Boreanaz says there is a possibility a reunion might be in the works.

As great as last season's revival of Roseanne was, one of the frustrating things about it for fans was the fact that actor Johnny Galecki was only able to work in a single appearance as his character from the show, David Healy. Of course, that difficulty just might have something to do with the fact that he happens to star in one of TV's top-rated shows at the moment, The Big Bang Theory. And now, with the Roseanne spin-off The Conners, it wasn't sounding too promising that he would be be able to appear this season. Thanks to actress Juliette Lewis, however, we now know that the schedule stars have aligned and he will indeed be returning for at least an episode. View this post on Instagram Here’S The Big News!! Ever since John Goodman, in a recent interview with The Times of London, made it clear that the Roseanne Conner character will have died between last season's finale of Roseanne and the premiere of The Conners, the question has been exactly how they were going to write her out of the show that she stood at the center of. Interestingly enough, the answer comes from Roseanne Barr herself, who, while appearing on the YouTube show Walk Away (hosted by Brandon Straka), noted that the writers will be expanding on a story idea that had been touched upon last season, which she wanted to explore further, but with a far different outcome. "They have her die of an opioid overdose," she said. "I wanted to show [opioid struggle] in the show, but I was never going to have Roseanne die of an opioid overdose. It’s so cynical and horrible. The highly-anticipated Roseanne reboot is finally here! When the updated series premiered on ABC on Tuesday, March 27 two decades after the original show's run, many fans were surprised to see almost all of the former cast members returned for the revival. Not only did Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Sarah Chalke, Michael Fishman, and Johnny Galecki come back, but the 2018 cast also features a few new characters. So, just how many of those new and old characters are Roseanne's kids? Scroll down to meet the Conner family! Becky Conner-Healy Becky is Roseanne and Dan Conner's eldest child. She was originally played by Lecy Goranson in Seasons 1 through 5. In 1992, Lecy decided to leave Roseanne to pursue a college education at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. There's no denying the new Roseanne reboot successfully talks about politics. Between Roseanne Conner's clear love for Trump and Jackie's love for Hillary Clinton, there's enough to start a family fight. And the fact that President Donald Trump even congratulated the show on its high ratings has fans convinced the sitcom is pro-Trump — but the show's executive producer, Witney Cummings, doesn't understand why. “I don’t think I anticipated the positioning of it as a pro-Trump show... because it is not a pro-Trump show at all,” Cummings, 35 told Us Weekly in a recent interview. "She herself voted for Trump but I think people struggle differentiating Roseanne Barr and Roseanne Conner. I can see why. It’s called Roseanne. I myself have struggled with it in the writers’ room." She added, "Because the show is not about Trump, it’s about the circumstances that made people think Trump was a good idea.

We're so sorry to hear this. After years of reportedly suffering from ill-health, British TV star Dale Winton sadly died in his home at age 62 on Wednesday, April 18, his longtime agent confirmed "with great sadness" to The Guardian. "While we know many will share this terrible loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this time of grief," Jan Kennedy said in a statement. In the years prior to his passing, Dale — who was most known for hosting the UK versions of Supermarket Sweep and In It To Win It — privately battled health issues and kept details of his condition from fans. Until 2015, Dale was all over British television, but when he disappeared (and even missed the funeral of his best friend and fellow TV presenter Cilla Black) fans understandably grew concerned. ABC's beloved sitcom Roseanne has already scored record-breaking ratings (more than 25 million viewers its first week!) in its triumphant return to television 30 years after its original run. Why did Darlene Conner name her son Mark on Roseanne? It was actually a way for her character to honor her late brother-in-law, Mark Healy. And for Roseanne stars Sara Gilbert and Johnny Galecki, it's was similarly a way to honor their late co-star, Glenn Quinn. When Sara was developing the revival of the hit ABC sitcom, she reached out to Johnny when it was time to name their characters' child. "I thought, I've got to reach out to Johnny Galecki because this is our kid together," Sara recounted on The Talk on April 16. "So I texted him, 'What do you think we should name our baby boy?' During the Thursday, April 12 episode of The Talk, the co-host praised Emma's incredible strength. "I first want to say, Emma, I’m so proud of you. I know that the whole cast and crew are so proud of you," Sara began. “And it takes a lot of courage to — we have a lot of demons — it takes a lot of courage to face them, particularly at 18. I envy you." The 43-year-old continued, "If I could go back to being 18 and start doing things to better myself at the pace you’re doing, I would be a better person today. So, I commend you, I love you, and I know you will come out the other side. Thank you for speaking up...

They're more than just co-stars, they're like family. In a new interview, Roseanne star Michael Fishman — who portrays DJ Conner on the hit ABC show — revealed the cast has a special on-set ritual to remember late actor Glenn Quinn before filming each new episode of the series reboot. "Glenn is missed by us daily. He remains part of the show, and close to our hearts. Before each taping we do cast introductions for the audience. We come out of Roseanne and Dan’s master bedroom, through the kitchen to meet the crowd. It is an exhilarating immediate connection with fans. In that hallway, I brought in Glenn’s picture, we each pass it before every episode we film. We remember Glenn every day. He will always be with us, part of us, part of the Roseanne show and family," Michael wrote on Facebook on Wednesday, April 11. Glenn as Mark on the show.

Actor Glenn Quinn portrayed Mark Healy on Roseanne from 1990 until 1997, but he sadly passed away just five years after the show ended. And now that the sitcom's exciting reboot has returned to ABC, many fans are wondering — how exactly did Mark from Roseanne die and how will he be remembered on the new revival? On Dec. 3, 2002, Glenn sadly passed away from an accidental heroin overdose. He was found by a friend on a couch in Hollywood at the time of his passing. He was only 32 years old when he died. Because Mark was such a beloved character on Roseanne — he played Becky Conner's husband and David Healy's brother — the writers wanted to ensure Glenn was remembered in the updated storyline. In fact, actress Lecy Goranson (who portrays Becky on the series) has just revealed that the entire reboot is dedicated to Glenn's memory. Mark and Becky on the show.

Roseanne paid tribute to one of its own in "Eggs Over, Not Easy," the fourth episode of the nine-episode revival season, with a special card dedicated to Glenn Quinn. The episode featured Becky (Lecy Goranson) heading to the doctor with Andrea (Sarah Chalke), furthering the surrogacy storyline. However, it's revealed to Andrea that Becky has a slim chance at successfully conceiving and carrying a child—she lied about her age—and Andrea backs out of the arrangement. Later in the episode, Becky revealed to Roseanne (Roseanne Barr) she and Mark (Quinn) wanted to have kids, which can't happen now. Roseanne established Mark died. Darlene (Sara Gilbert) has a son named after him. Quinn, who went...

The revival of ABC’s Roseanne tonight referenced the death of a character from the original series, Becky Conner’s (Lecy Goranson) boyfriend and later husband Mark. Introduced in Season 3 as a guest star, Mark, played by Glenn Quinn, recurred for the remainder of Roseanne‘s original 9-season run, which ended in 1997. Five years later, in 2002, Quinn died of an accidental drug overdose at age 32.
Tonight’s episode of Roseanne tackled the topic of infertility through Becky, who was revealed to have a slim-to-none chance of getting pregnant. As she struggled to come to terms with the news, Becky revealed that she and Mark had been trying to have children and lamented the fact that she could never find “anyone as good” as him after he died.
The episode ended with a card that paid tribute to Quinn. Additionally, Roseanne co-star Michael Fishman, who plays D.J. Conner, remembered his late friend on Twitter.

This week on Roseanne, a trip to the doctor puts the kibosh on Becky’s surrogacy arrangement, and the series pays tribute to a former cast member.
The episode opens with Becky bringing home a puppy named Armani. She’s always wanted a dog, and figures she’ll have a backyard for him once she has the baby for Andrea and claims her $50,000. She comes over hoping Roseanne will wish her luck for her upcoming doctor’s appointment, but Mom is still not supportive of the decision to carry another couple’s child.

It's hard to believe that Roseanne's original run on ABC is three decades old! The iconic sitcom starring Roseanne Barr and John Goodman debuted in 1988 and launched the careers of famous actors including Johnny Galecki, who now stars on The Big Bang Theory, and Sara Gilbert, who is the creator and co-host of The Talk. But there's one star from the series that many fans still have questions about — where is baby Jerry now? Baby Jerry on Roseanne (above), Morgan and Cole today (bottom). (Photo Credit: R/R; Facebook) Roseanne's tiniest character was actually played by a set of twins. Cole and Morgan Roberts split their time playing Jerry from 1995 until 1997. Now get ready to feel super old — the twins are now 23, which means, yep, they can legally drink. So crazy! While little is known about Cole and Morgan today — as they haven't done much acting since their sitcom days...

When Roseanne returned to ABC at the end of March for a nine-episode reboot, fans were delighted to see most of the show's original cast return to the small screen. But character Becky Conner's husband, Mark Healy, was sadly absent from the series because actor Glenn Quinn tragically died at age 32 in 2002 from an accidental heroin overdose. Though Mark's death was mentioned in the revival's premiere episode, actress Lecy Goranson just revealed in a new interview that her character, Becky, "hasn’t really dealt with the pain" of Mark's passing. "I think of [Becky] as a very strong woman and I feel like she’s gone through a lot. She’s lost her husband and, as America will see in upcoming weeks, that really took a toll on her," she told Variety. Mark and Lecy on _Roseanne_. Remember when actress Lecy Goranson (aka the original Becky!) randomly left Roseanne? When the hit ABC sitcom premiered back in 1988, Lecy — who was then just 14 years old — perfectly portrayed the spunky eldest Conner daughter, Becky. But after five seasons on the series, Lecy surprisingly exited the show and left fans totally perplexed as to why. Scroll down for all the details on Lecy's departure! Why did the original Becky leave Roseanne? In 1992, Lecy decided to leave Roseanne to pursue a college education at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. At the time, the young actress' school schedule permitted her to still occasionally appear on the series. During Season 5, Lecy's character, Becky, surprisingly eloped with her boyfriend, Mark Healy (played by the late Glenn Quinn), and subsequently left her Illinois hometown. Since Becky then lived out-of-state, Lecy was often shown speaking to her parents, Roseanne Conner (played by Roseanne Barr) and Dan Conner...

Now that the highly-anticipated Roseanne reboot has finally premiered, fans are more obsessed with the iconic TV show then ever before. But now that the series is back, many people have forgotten where in the Us the beloved sitcom — which originally aired for nine seasons from 1988 to 1997 — actually takes place. Well, it turns out that Roseanne Conner (played by Roseanne Barr) and her working-class family live in the fictional town of Lanford, Il. The home featured on the original ABC series is actually located in Evansville, Il, which is about a six-hour drive from Chicago. While exteriors were shot in Illinois, the rest of Roseanne was filmed on the CBS lot in Studio City, CA. In 2013, the Roseanne house underwent a mini remodel and was updated with a new kitchen, new windows in all the main rooms, and new decking on the front porch. At the time, it was put...

It seems we're not the only ones who are emotional about the new Roseanne reboot. One of the show's stars, Sara Gilbert, expressed how happy she was about the high ratings the show's premiere received during her daytime talk show, The Talk, on Thursday, March 29. "You're always nervous before you do something, and we're so grateful to the fans," she shared with her fellow co-hosts of the series. "I mean it's just unbelievable." She then opened up about exactly how she felt the day of the premiere. "I was flying on the day of the premiere and I was kind of watching the clock and I was like 'Oh it's coming on in New York, oh it's coming on in Chicago,'" the 43-year-old recalled. "When I got to La, I was almost home and I was in the car and I was like, 'Oh my god it's 8:01, it's on in La!

"It’s like no time passed,” Roseanne Barr exclusively raved to Closer Weekly about bringing her hit sitcom Roseanne back to ABC on March 27. “It is like a family and being back with my other husband and my other sister and my other kids. It’s great!” Speaking at the TCA Winter Press Tour in Pasadena, CA on Jan. 8, Roseanne, 65 — who wrote, produced, and starred in the 1988 until 1997 comedy about the working-class Conner family — notes that the entire original cast “jumped at the chance to work together again because we have such fun.” Still, some things have changed. “It was really hard 30 years ago,” Roseanne admits, choking up from the memory. “I think there had only been two other women before me who had been producers of their show — Marlo Thomas and Lucille Ball. Looking back, I was kind of in there alone.” Roseanne weathered several battles to ensure her...

The Roseanne cast is back together again for the 2018 reboot— and we couldn't be more excited. Back in November, Roseanne Barr cleared up many fan suspicions and revealed that Johnny Galecki is returning to the show for the revival. And now that the series finally airs tonight, we can't wait to see Johnny in his former role again. "We have got our Johnny Galecki back on Roseanne this episode — what a joy to work with such a deeply empathetic actor," she wrote at the time. "Very moving 4 all of us. #Joy." Johnny will seemingly come back as Darlene's husband, David Healy. And he's not the only one coming back! Roseanne, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, and more previously reunited at the first table read. The fun event occurred just one day before the 29th anniversary of the show, which originally ran for nine seasons from 1988 until 1997. In several photos shared by ABC,...

2017 marked 20 years since the series finale of the now-classic sitcom Roseanne, so fans of the Roseanne Barr and John Goodman-led show still have many questions about the bizarre final season. Viewers will recall an undoubtedly strange ninth season that saw the Conner family winning the lottery, Dan Conner miraculously coming back to life despite suffering a fatal heart attack at the end of Season 8, the switching of romantic partners, and the introduction of gay characters. After the Conners — your average, run-of-the-mill, blue-collar family struggling to make end's meet and stay afloat — were first introduced, Roseanne's hilarious fictional version of her life was ranked the most popular show on TV (yes, it beat out The Cosby show, by over 200,000 viewers). With the highly-anticipated reboot airing tonight, many fans are looking for a reminder of how Roseanne ended and where the characters were when we last saw them. Scroll down to find out!

Roseanne is back for season 10 after a 21-year-hiatus, and fans are curious what has become of the sharp-tongued matriarch of the Conner family and her tight-knit brood. In the season 9 season/series finale, viewers learned that much of what we knew about the Conners after nine years wasn't true: the family winning the lottery was pure fiction, written by Roseanne (Roseanne Barr) following the death of her husband, Dan (John Goodman). Jackie Harris (Laurie Metcalf), Roseanne's sister, was gay, high-school sweethearts Darlene (Sara Gilbert) and David (Johnny Galecki) who married and had a daughter together were never a couple. David was actually with Becky (Lecy Goranson), the oldest Conner daughter, and Becky's dim-witted husband, Mark (played by Glenn Quinn who died in 2002), was involved with Darlene.

We spent a lot of time in the Conner family's living room in the 90s, which is probably why the most iconic piece of the Roseanne set is the hideous brown couch with a rainbow afghan that so many heartfelt talks took place on. Many fans are excited to see that big ol' couch again in the reboot, and to those fans: we're sorry, because that's not the same couch! Roseanne Barr and on-screen husband John Goodman stopped by Jimmy Kimmel on March 22 to drop the bombshell that the couch featured in the reboot isn't the same as the one we grew up watching! “This is a replica, this ain’t the real one,” said Roseanne. “The Smithsonian Institute has the real one and they wanted too much scratch for it,” said John. Apparently ABC's reboot budget. Roseanne suggested they don't even need it. “It smells just like butt,...

Over his remarkable career on the small screen, John Goodman has earned a total of 11 Emmy nominations, including seven for his role as Dan Conner on “Roseanne,” the series that launched his career. However, none of those seven bids proved to be lucky for him. His sole Emmy win came in Best Guest Drama Actor for “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” in 2007.
While Goodman never won an Emmy for his acclaimed turn on “Roseanne,” leading lady Roseanne Barr won once while scene-stealer Laurie Metcalf took home three Best Comedy Supporting Actress trophies. This year, with the much-anticipated revival of the series, Goodman could finally win an Emmy for portraying the Conner family patriarch.
Despite his unsuccessful run at the Emmys, Goodman was no amateur at selecting exceptional episodes of “Roseanne” for voters’ consideration.

The Roseanne gang is back! ABC just released the opening credits video for the show's highly-anticipated upcoming reboot and the clip is giving us major nostalgia. Not only is the series' original theme song back, but former Roseanne stars Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, and Michael Fishman have all returned too, making this a TV remake we seriously cannot wait to watch. Just like the show's very first credits video, the reboot's opening begins with a shot of lead character Roseanne Conner (played by Roseanne Barr, of course) sitting at the Conner family's kitchen table. Seated beside Roseanne is her husband, Dan Conner (John), and sister Jackie Harris (Laurie) while the three Connor kids, Becky (Lecy), Darlene (Sara), and DJ (Michael) buzz around the kitchen. Watch the clip below! The remake's opening looks essentially the same with just a few more Conner family members added in as kids Becky,...
