José Luis López Vázquez‘s unfortunate character enters a freshly installed phone booth, only to then learn it neither works nor allows him to leave. Deadline is wondering if Jonah Hill’s anti-gay slur is going to hurt the box office of 22 Jump Street. First of all, have they seen this movie? There’s nothing about this thing that makes me think a gay slur matters to the target audience. Secondly, despite what they’re saying about his apology, I thought he did a pretty admirable job, particularly on Jimmy Fallon. Still, they note that Hill’s Twitter has been silent since the incident and the video views on the trailers have gone flat. And Hill skipped the premiere of his own movie.
Three weeks ago, Disney said that it had no plans for Princess Leia toys. After a #WeWantLeia campaign on social media, that’s all changed, although Disney is acting like this was the plan all along.
