17,000 fans. The reunion of an American football dynasty and the coach no one expected to show. Televised live around the world while the reputation of a man considered “the greatest of all time” sits in the hands of savage comedians and one-time foes. What could go wrong?
But here we are, just days after Tom Brady took to the stage at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles for Sunday’s “The Greatest Roast of All Time,” and the walls are still standing. For decades roast comedy has been a beloved national tradition, once shepherded on TV by Comedy Central. It was a show that often targeted Hollywood legends or zeitgeist icons. It took the willingness of Brady, who holds a record 7 Super Bowl rings, to reinvigorate the format for streaming under host Kevin Hart. And not just any roast, which would typically be shot on a Hollywood backlot and edited ahead of its premiere.

Pinewood Studios has sold its minority stake in the Dominican Republic’s horizon water tank facility, which has been renamed Lantica Studios after its now sole owner, Lantica Media.
Formerly known as the Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios, Lantica Studios is undertaking the building of a fourth soundstage, measuring 16,000 sq.ft., and two additional workshop spaces of 12,000 sq. ft each, mainly dedicated to housing camera, grip and electric equipment vendors. These are set to open by the Spring of 2025.
The landmark expansion comes as the 10-year-old studio has seen record growth in international and local production, which has led to the availability of more skilled crew in the Dominican Republic (Dr), either trained on the job or in regularly held workshops. “We’ve grown from hiring locals at an average rate of 400 – 500 a year to 2,000 a year,” said Albert Martinez, CEO of Lantica Studios.

Released on January 1st, 2022 on Max, the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts reunion special saw the franchise’s lead actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, followed by Tom Felton and others. Fans started assuming that Rowling avoided the event because of the massive backlash she faced for her anti-trans views. However, the author later clarified the reason behind her conspicuous absence from Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.

Harry Potter’s franchise has surely enriched the cinematic world with a myriad of fascinating scenes that couldn’t have made it to the screen without a very special equipment or the actors’ challenging role.
In some cases both of these things were required — and, if it hadn’t been for them, one of the franchise’s most jaw-dropping scenes would’ve never been possible.
The beginning of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 features Harry’s reunion with his friends and the Order of the Phoenix members while they try to decide how to transport Harry to Ron Weasley’s family house without any jeopardy of exposing his location to Voldemort.
As Harry’s mother’s protective spell is about to end, he can’t rely on this anymore — instead, there’s another, quite challenging, method.

Harry Potter stars have all grown into quite big public figures. While they have all continued acting in some form, they have also been striving for other pursuits. Emma Watson has gained an impressive reputation outside of her acting career. She is extremely educated, having studied at both Oxford and Brown University.

Even though Sandra Bullock has nailed it classically in multiple other roles, one of her most real dramas was in none other than Speed. Not only was the masterpiece widely commended by critics and general viewers alike, but it is also regarded among some of the best performances to date from the film’s three prominent leads, i.e., Keanu Reeves, Bullock, and Jeff Daniels.
Speed (1994).
Surprisingly enough, even though the action-thriller later granted them such impeccable fame in their respective careers, there was a time when Daniels almost turned down his iconic role. However, thanks to a series of fortunate turn of events, not only did he end up starring in the film, but he also took an unlikely inspiration from the late Roy Scheider in one Steven Spielberg movie!

The three Harry Potter actors, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, have become closest friends for more than 10 years of shooting together. It, undoubtedly, made the process of filming easier, as they didn’t need to outdo themselves to portray friendship among the trio and to find a necessary chemistry which was already present.
However, their closeness was a huge challenge when it came to the finale, which involved more love scenes than the previous, more childlike chapters. The same was with the Harry and Hermione kiss scene, which took place in the first Deathly Hallows movie.
In its climax, when Harry opens Slytherin’s locket, one of Lord Voldemort’s horcruxes, it begins to torture Ron by mocking his biggest fears. The main one is presented in the vision of Harry and Hermione telling him they would be better off without him, which is followed by a kiss of the two,...

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling's initial concerns about the trans community divided opinions but seemed to at least come from a place of concern. However, in the years that have followed, her comments have become increasingly controversial and led to fans and peers alike washing their hands of the writer.
Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson are among the Harry Potter stars who have made a point of disagreeing with Rowling while sharing their support for trans people. Recently, the author was asked if she'd forgive the duo should they make a public apology and whether they're safe in the knowledge she'd do so.
"Not safe, I'm afraid," Rowling responded. "Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women's hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces.

Josh Brolin Is More In Love With Cable Than Thanos Reveals Whether He’s Part Of Deadpool & Wolverine Or Not ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Josh Brolin is one of those actors who has played two Marvel characters and that too in the same year. He appeared as Thanos and Cable in 2018. With Deadpool & Wolverine’s release almost around the corner, several speculations have been made on social media. One of them is Brolin’s return to the MCU, as his name is reportedly listed on IMDb as part of the upcoming movie’s cast.
Deadpool 2 and Avengers: Infinity War were released in 2018, and Brolin was an integral part of both the movies. Now, Marvel has finally acquired the rights to the Fox characters, and as a result, Wade Wilson and Logan are coming home. The possibilities for the makers to include the characters in the movie have increased, courtesy of the multiverse concept.

Nick Jonas and Paul Rudd are set to star in “Power Ballad” a musical comedy from John Carney, who directed “Once” and “Sing Street.” They are currently filming in Dublin.
“Power Ballad” was written by Carney and Peter McDonald. The official logline for the film reads, “An uplifting music-driven story about a wedding singer, a rock star and the song that comes between them.”
Jonas and Rudd are both known for their work on-screen with Jonas’ credits including “Camp Rock,” Scream Queens” and “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and a TV performance of “Jersey Boys Live!” Rudd is known for “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” “Only Murders In The Building,” “Knocked Up” and Marvel’s Ant-Man films.

At the beginning of Act Two of “Merrily We Roll Along,” Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe, Lindsay Mendez and other ensemble members sing “It’s A Hit!,” celebrating the successful opening of characters Charlie and Frank’s first Broadway musical. Indeed, one could say the same about this revival of “Merrily,” not just because of its smash box office receipts, but also because of the seven Tony Awards nominations that it received on April 30. This recognition from New York theatre’s highest honor is a true redemption for the show, whose original production was a notorious flop for composer Stephen Sondheim and director Hal Prince that ran only 16 regular performances and earned only a single bid for Sondheim’s original score. But how does this production’s Tony success compare to other recent revivals of the late composer’s works?

“Harry Potter” star Tom Felton is currently filming the series “Gandhi,” where he plays Josiah Oldfield, the future Mahatma’s friend in London.
Part of the series, produced by Sameer Nair for India’s Applause Entertainment and directed by Hansal Mehta, follows the young Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi when he was in London to study law and missing vegetarian food. It examines how Gandhi’s chance discovery of a vegetarian restaurant brings him to the lesser-known Vegetarian Society of London, of which Oldfield is one of the founders. This chance meeting proves to be formative for Gandhi, as it is Oldfield who first discovers the writer in him and encourages him to pen articles for the Vegetarian Magazine.

J.K. Rowling is an author who has made several generations happy with her Harry Potter series, but in recent years, the Scottish author is better known for her anti-trans feuds with basically everyone than for her works. Not that long ago, we reported about her feud with former Harry Potter stars, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, whom Rowling attacked for not sharing her opinion and openly criticizing her views. But, it seems that the feud is not over. It definitely isn’t for Rowling, but former Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe also had something to say recently about this whole controversy.
Before we continue, here is a quick summary of the issue. Rowling has been quite open about her opposition to the transgender movement, criticizing some of its postulates as degrading toward actual women. While the author has been criticized for her opinions, she remains firm in stating that she...

Daniel Radcliffe shot to fame as a child actor playing Harry Potter in the movie series based on Rowling’s beloved books. However, they differ in their views on transgender rights.

Subsequently, Radcliffe responded via The Trevor Project, affirming, “Transgender women are women,...

Daniel Radcliffe shot to fame as a child actor playing Harry Potter in the movie series based on Rowling’s beloved books. However, they differ in their views on transgender rights.
In 2020, J.K. Rowling voiced her concerns on Twitter ( Now Called X) about an article using the term “people who menstruate” instead of “women,” arguing that certain aspects of the transgender movement could jeopardize women’s rights. Subsequently, Radcliffe responded via The Trevor Project, affirming, “Transgender women are women,...

Daniel Radcliffe has offered his latest words of support for the trans community while discussing Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling’s history of anti-trans comments in a new interview with The Atlantic.
“Obviously Harry Potter would not have happened without her, so nothing in my life would have probably happened the way it is without that person,” Radcliffe told The Atlantic. “But that doesn’t mean that you owe the things you truly believe to someone else for your entire life.”
Rowling’s focus on trans people — specifically trans women — is a well-documented saga that often involves the author offering unsolicited comments on trans legislation and related dialogue. Last month, Rowling responded to a fan asking if she would ever “forgive” Radcliffe and his former co-star Emma Watson for speaking out against her views by saying they could “save their apologies.”
She continues to regularly post longform defenses of her beliefs,...

By now, fans of the “Harry Potter” books, films, and overall franchise are likely well aware that J.K. Rowling, the author of the series, is no ally to the trans community and has been rather public, defiant, and unwavering about many of her bigoted and hateful transphobic comments over the last few years. Rowling’s attacks on the trans communities have been going on for years now. And while she and “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe have sparred somewhat in the press, a new round of sharply-heated Rowling remarks have inspired the actor to speak out against her again.

Daniel Radcliffe, known for being the iconic boy wizard in the Harry Potter film series, shared his feelings about J.K. Rowling’s controversial anti-transgender statements.
“It makes me really sad, ultimately,” he told The Atlantic, noting that he has had no direct communication with Rowling since her anti-transgender outbursts. “I do look at the person that I met, the times that we met, and the books that she wrote, and the world that she created, and all of that is to me so deeply empathic.”
After Rowling’s transphobic comments in 2020, Radcliffe took a stand for the transgender community via a statement through The Trevor Project. He wrote, “I realize that certain press outlets will probably want to paint this as in-fighting between J.K. Rowling and myself, but that is really not what this is about, nor is it what’s important right now.”

The global Harry Potter community had long been celebrated as a place of companionship and inclusivity. But the community’s reputation took a severe hit in recent years, ever since Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling came out with statements that are seen as transphobic. This led to a fission within the fandom, as people in the Harry Potter Community took sides on the issue for or against Rowling.
As the person who portrayed Harry Potter in the movies, Daniel Radcliffe was caught in the middle of the discourse. The actor came out with a clear stance, expressing his support for the transgender community and condemning alleged transphobic remarks by Rowling. Now, Radcliffe has revealed that while his stance has heavily strained his relationship with J.K. Rowling, he has no intention of backing down from his statements.

Daniel Radcliffe, nominated for his first Tony Award earlier this week in the Best Featured Actor (Musical) category for his work in “Merrily We Roll Along,” talked about his frayed relationship with author and producer J.K. Rowling in a recent interview.
Rowling, the creator of the “Harry Potter” franchise, has positioned herself at the center of the oftentimes nasty dialogue over transgender rights. This unanticipated second career of Rowling’s makes the actor – who landed the role of The Boy Who Lived at the age of 12 – “really sad,” he said.
In June 2020, after the Ngo group Nevex used the term “people who menstruate,” Rowling responded on Twitter/X by writing, “I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?” This led to a tremendous amount of backlash, culminating in an essay Radcliffe penned in response on the website for The Trevor Project.

Harry Potter star reveals in interview that he has had no contact with Rowling since the author’s gender-critical statements on trans women
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has described his rupture with Jk Rowling over trans rights as “really sad”, and that despite her role in his life as the creator of Potter “[it] doesn’t mean that you owe the things you truly believe to someone else for your entire life”.
Radcliffe’s comments came in an interview in the Atlantic, and marks the first published remarks by one of the principal cast in the Potter series since the publication of the Cass review of gender identity services, and Rowling’s subsequent suggestion on social media that he and co-star Emma Watson were “celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors”.

Daniel Radcliffe responded this week to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling’s anti-trans stances, saying her ongoing criticism of the transgender community “makes me really sad.”
Rowling has made headlines many times in recent years for her social media campaigning against the trans rights movement, most recently responding to a four-year British investigation which claimed there was no good evidence that puberty-blocking interventions for transgender people were safe for the long-term.
“Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces,” Rowling wrote on social media in response, saying she would not forgive those who have supported trans healthcare, including Radcliffe and his Harry Potter co-stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.

Tom Felton has become an iconic figure through his work in the Harry Potter franchise. A musical inspired by the life of Alicia Keys and a play that loosely draws on the story of Fleetwood Mac — Hell’s Kitchen and Stereophonic, respectively — cleaned up at the 2024 Tony Awards nominations. Both received 13 nominations, more than any other show this year.
Hell’s Kitchen was nominated for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical (for Kristoffer Diaz), Best Direction (Michael Greif), and Best Choreography (Camille A. Brown), while its stars Maleah Joi Moon, Shoshana Bean, and Kecia Lewis all picked up acting nods. But despite its impressive haul,...

Stereophonic became the most nominated play in Tony Awards history Tuesday, scoring a surprisingly strong 13 nominations for the 2024 Tony Awards, including acting nods for almost the entire cast. Several other shows also saw most of their leading roles nominated, including Days of Wine and Roses, which closed early but still saw nominations for its leads Kelli O’Hara and Brian D’Arcy James, as well as Merrily We Roll Along, which saw nominations for its three leads, Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe and Lindsay Mendez.
Stereophonic also landed a best score nomination, a bit unusual since the production is a play, but it features original songs written by ex-Arcade Fire member Will Butler for the fictional band at the center of the story. While the songs in the play have been praised, the nomination is a bit atypical given that most of the songs featured in the musical are delivered in snippets,...

David Adjmi’s new play “Stereophonic” makes Tony Awards history with 13 nominations. This bests by one the previous record-holder “Slave Play” by Jeremy O. Harris, which earned 12 bids back in 2020. Its haul includes recognition for Best Play, Best Director (Daniel Aukin), five nominations for its performers and, rare for a dramatic work, Best Original Score for Will Butler and Best Orchestrations for Butler and Justin Craig.
“Hell’s Kitchen,” a loosely biographical work on the early life and featuring the music of Alicia Keys, leads all musicals and musical revivals with 13 nominations. In addition to a Best Musical nom, the show...

Daniel Radcliffe’s post-“Harry Potter” career has long been dominated by his theater work, both in New York and London. On April 30, he finally scored his first Tony nomination, for his role in the musical “Merrily We Roll Along.”
Radcliffe’s buzzy stage work began in 2007 with a run in “Equus” on both sides of the pond. He powered a delightful, blockbuster revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” in 2011 (Grammy nomination), and since then, he has chosen an eclectic mix of projects, work where his name alone can often get challenging — or even just serious — work funded. Think the occasionally dense “The Cripple of Inishmaan,” the provocative “Privacy,” or the genre-bending experiment “The Lifespan of a Fact.” He’s long been an asset to the NY stage scene, and this morning’s recognition long-deserved.
