New Delhi, April 25 (Ians) He makes it clear that the memoir is not about his theatre journey, nor the making of some of the finest theatre productions he has brought on stage, but in fact, about India and the many shades he has been a witness to.
Theatre director M.K. Raina’s memoir ‘Before I Forget’ (Penguin) starts from his childhood in Kashmir, the time when Sheikh Abdullah was arrested, his work as an activist post the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, the killing of theatre personality Safdar Hashmi, and his work with ‘bhands’ in Kashmir.
It was important for him to put it out all there — for these are vivid tales from a complex land where nothing is linear. He smiles, it is this aspect of India he has been a witness to, that precipitated the writing of the book.

Mumbai, Nov 5 (Ians) This may come across as a surprise but actor Rajat Kapoor, who will soon be seen in the upcoming political thriller series ‘Tanaav’, has shared that he doesn’t put much effort into his characters.
But, despite a casual approach to his characters, the actor has delivered some of the most impressive performances in his career. He surely knows what buttons to push in order to sketch a terrific performance.
Talking to Ians, the ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ actor said: “The idea of a character for me doesn’t exist. It’s not like a character lies somewhere outside of your body. But having said that, I would like to mention that the external appearance of the character, the costumes and inputs from the director greatly help me craft my characters.”

Kabir Khan garnered ample curiosity when he announced "The Forgotten Army: Azaadi Ke Liye", simply because he set out to narrate a saga that perhaps remains the most intriguing in India's military history.
Independent India has rarely ever discussed Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Indian National Army (Ina), or Azad Hind Fauj. So, when one of Bollywood's most high-profile filmmakers sets out to narrate the story, you sit up to take notice.
Khan made a documentary on this subject two decades ago for Doordarshan, so it is fairly safe to assume he went into the effort with necessary knowledge and research. The fact that he chose to narrate the story as a limited series of just five episodes shows he preferred keeping things to the point.
Without maintaining unity of time, place or action in a bid to augment the drama, Khan divides his story into two tracks that move parallel to each other.

Amazon PrimeBased on true events, the story is about the Indian National Army which was formalised under the leadership of Subhash Chandra Bose. Saraswati DatarTelling a story about war is always a risky process. How do you make the history relevant? How do you avoid glorifying violence? But most importantly, what does the filmmaker have to say about war and its consequences that has not already been said before? Based on true events, The Forgotten Army-Azadi Ke Liye, now streaming on Amazon Prime, tells the story of the Indian National Army (Ina), or the Azad Hind Fauj as they were called, a battalion comprising former Indian soldiers of the British National Army who'd been captured by the Japanese and civilians who signed up to free India from British rule. Created and directed by filmmaker Kabir Khan, the story travels between two time periods, one between 1942-45 when the Ina was formed,...
