Exclusive: After landing the life rights to Being Ram Dass, Elijah Allan-Blitz, Brie Larson and Brian Grazer are producing a limited series based on the late American spiritual teacher, psychologist, and author, Ram Dass. His “Love, Serve, Remember” Foundation leaders Raghu Markus and Rameshwar Das will both take on executive producer roles. “Elijah Allan-Blitz and his family have been front and center of my relationship with my ‘Bio-Dad’”, Peter Reichard (Ram Dass’ son) explained. “I was thrilled when Elijah told me about the television series being planned about Rd’s life. To have Elijah, Brie Larson and the Oscar winning film producer Brian Grazer spearheading this project is an incredible acknowledgement of the life, times and impact Ram Dass had on our world.” Dass (then Richard Alpert) was a Harvard professor whose own self-image was shattered after his first mushroom trip. Story of woman held captive in Vienna for eight years after her abduction as a 10-year-old to shoot despite producer's death
A controversial biopic about the kidnapping and incarceration of the Austrian Natascha Kampusch, who was held for eight years in a basement cell, has been given the green light despite the death of its main architect.
German film-maker Bernd Eichinger had been working on the screenplay for the project at the time of his death in January. Journalist Peter Reichard, who interviewed Kampusch for German television, helped him with the initial drafts.
Natascha Kampusch's story shocked the world in 2006 when she escaped from kidnapper Wolfgang Priklopil, a communications technician, after being held captive for 3,096 days – much of it in a tiny basement room. Most surprising to many was the fact that the young woman, who was taken when she was just 10, appeared to show empathy with her kidnapper.

The controversial biopic about Natascha Kampusch is moving forward without Bernd Eichinger producing. The film tells the story of the Austrian girl kidnapped and held for 8 years in a basement cell. Eichinger was working on the screenplay for the film when he passed away unexpectedly in January. He was responsible for producing such films as the Oscar-nominated Downfall as well as the Resident Evil and Fantastic Four franchises.
Constantin Films is producing the film and have begun searching for directors and are finishing the script. Eichinger worked on the initial drafts of the script with ournalist Peter Reichard, who spent months interviewing Kampusch for a German TV documentary. Production head Martin Moskowicz believes a director will be attached to the film by June/July, with filming expected to begin next year.
This is pretty intense story and one that will make an interesting feature film. I am interested in seeing how the project turns out.

Cologne, Germany – Bernd Eichinger and Constantin Film will adapt the real-life kidnapping drama of Austria's Natascha Kampusch for the big screen.
Kampusch's story made headlines around the world in 2006 when she escaped from the basement cell where the technician Wolfgang Priklopil had been holding her captive for eight years. Priklopil snatched the then 10 year-old Kampusch as she was on her way to school. When he discovered she had escaped, Priklopil killed himself.
In a statement Thursday, Kampusch said she trusted Eichinger, the producer of Oscar-nominees "The Baader Meinhof Complex" and "Downfall" would tell her story properly.
Journalist Peter Reichard, who spent months interviewing Kampusch for a German TV documentary, will develop the project together with Eichinger and co-write the script. There is no further talent attached yet.
"For Peter Reichard and I, the purpose is, after all the media speculation and political scandal...to tell what really happened," Eichinger said.

A body believed to be that of a Yale student missing since Tuesday has been found on the campus of the Ivy League university in New Haven, Conn. "We did locate the remains of a human ... We are assuming that it is her at this time," New Haven assistant police chief Peter Reichard told reporters Sunday. Police are treating the death as a homicide. Annie Marie Le, 24, a doctoral student in pharmacology, was last seen Sept. 8 on surveillance video taken outside the lab where she conducted research. She was seen entering the building, but not leaving. Her Sunday wedding to Jonathan Widawsky,...
