With Hal Kanter, wrote the script for the 1964 Academy Awards ceremony, delivered by Jimmy Durante and Martha Raye.
Moved to California in 1958.
During World War II, served as chief squadron navigator with the Eight Air Force in Europe, becoming five times recipient of the Air Medal.
Graduated from City College of New York in New York City.
He had three children with his wife, Judy: son, Joshua; daughter, Stephanie; and daughter, Rachel. He also had four grandchildren.
He died from cancer at his home in Northridge, LA.
He came to New York City with his family as a toddler.
