Tentatively titled Wizards, the new show is a continuation of the original sitcom, which aired from 2007 to 2012. Both Gomez and Henrie are executive-producing, but only Henrie is expected to remain a regular if the pilot is picked up to series, whereas Gomez is only guest-starring in the first episode.

Wizards of Waverly Place (TV) may be buzz-worthy thanks to rising teen stars Selena Gomez, David Henrie, and Jake T. Austin, but beyond the young stars, the bits of magic and flights of fancy, the show works in large part thanks to its family underpinnings. There's love in the Russo house and that, probably more than anything else, is what enables WoWP to connect with viewers -- kids and parents alike. Much of the credit for that goes to David DeLuise and Maria Canals-Barrerra, who play Jerry and Theresa Russo, sharing terrific chemistry not just between the two of them, but also with Gomez, Henrie, and Austin. WoWP is currently in its third season and it's just been announced that the show will conclude after next season and a second WoWP made-for-television movie. We recently caught up with DeLuise -- son of the late comedy star Dom DeLuise and...
