Dan Sandberg was born in 1926 in Bronx, New York. After graduating high school, Sandberg went into the Army Air Corps and fought overseas in World War II. Sandberg was stationed in Okinawa. After returning from the war, Sandberg moved to Long Island, New York, where he resided until the late 1980s. Sandberg worked for a pool company before his work at TVC Labs/Video. Dan was the president and chief executive officer of TVC Lab/Video. He helped develop Chemtone, a technology developed to produce film in laboratories. Sandberg is regarded as a huge contributor to the development of film into the modern age and the end of the 20th century. He worked on movies including Superman and Taxi Driver. TVC Laboratories was a major film and video processing company in New York, from 1974 to 1993. Sandberg passed away in February 2015 in Aventura, Florida. Sandberg was survived by his wife Roslyn, son Jon, grandchildren Michael, Robert, David, Nara and Ben.
