- He was a writer and producer for NBC's Saturday Night Live (1975) for 20 years; he helped create "Weekend Update". Previously, he worked on the "Tonight" show with Steve Allen and Johnny Carson. He worked on TV specials for many stars, including Bing Crosby, Milton Berle, Burt Bacharach, Paul McCartney and Lily Tomlin. He won six Emmy Awards and six Writers Guild Awards.
