Welcome to this week’s review of Nxt, right here on Nerdly. This is a special edition of Nxt, not a PPV but a “special event” in Nxt: Roadblock, so let’s get straight into the review and see what happened this week…
Match #1: Jailhouse Street Fight – Tony D’Angelo def. Dijak The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With The Underboss Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo by his side, Tony D’Angelo was the one who delivered hard justice to Dijak in a brutal Jailhouse Street Fight. The action was fast and furious with Dijak gaining the quick upper hand thanks to a High Justice chokeslam onto a chair, but his momentum was short lived when D’Angelo countered a moonsault into a back suplex onto several more chairs. The two men continued to wage war on one another and their attacks on the outside culminated in a massive top rope elbow...

Match #1: Nxt North American Championship – Wes Lee def. Nathan Frazer The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Nxt North American Champion decided to hold another Open Challenge for his title and it was nothing but pure chaos as a group of Superstars brawled at ringside until Nathan Frazer stepped up and answered it. The two men battled evenly before finding themselves precariously placed on the top rope and it was the challenger that delivered the big blow as Frazer nailed Lee with a superplex and rolled through into a twisting neckbreaker. Frazer risked it all by going for a splash to the outside, but Lee countered and the challenger fell face first onto the announce table. Lee managed to toss Frazer into the...

Match #1: Tyler Bate def. Grayson Waller The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Grayson Waller was out to prove something after losing to Bron Breakker at Nxt Vengeance Day, but he couldn’t quite overcome the Big Strong Boi. Both men were evenly matched with Bate using his innovative offense to keep the wily Waller off-balance. Still clearly focused on his backstage issues with Shawn Michaels, Waller tried mocking the Heartbreak Kid, but it backfired and nearly cost him the match. The action continued at a frenzied pace, but Waller’s attempt to use the ropes as leverage during a pin was spotted by the referee, and the momentary lapse in judgment allowed Bate to reverse it into the winning pin.
My Score: 3 out...

Match #1: Zoey Stark def. Sol Ruca The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Not many Superstars have generated as much buzz in recent weeks as Sol Ruca has, but the fierce Zoey Stark made it a point to put a stop to all the chatter. Ruca started off hot, using her acrobatic offense to keep Stark off-balance, but a springboard splash went awry when Stark got her knees up. The ferocious Stark didn’t let up after that and after a series of strong strikes, she hit her devastating knee lift to put Ruca away. However, her post match beatdown of Ruca didn’t go as planned as the athletic Ruca...

Match #1: Doudrop & Nikki A.S.H. def. Toxic Attraction The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Still furious after Toxic Attraction’s interference at Worlds Collide, Nikki A.S.H. & Doudrop looked to teach Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne a lesson about sticking their noses in other people’s business. The Raw Superstars battered Toxic Attraction early on, but the former two-time Nxt Women’s Tag Team Champions turned the tide after Jayne shoved Nikki A.S.H. off the top rope and flattened her with a senton off the apron. WWE Nxt’s Cora Jade appears for a backstage interview during an Nxt 2.0 show. Pic credit: WWE/YouTube
The Generation of Jade is underway, and Nxt superstar Cora Jade is reminding fans and foes that she’s blazing her own trail to the top of the women’s division.
Cora took to Instagram on Tuesday ahead of the latest episode of WWE’s Nxt 2.0 to show off several photos of herself in some eye-catching attire, possibly for her appearance on the program.
The 5-foot-6 wrestling star was rocking a pair of skimpy black shorts complete with eyelets and crisscrossing laces running up near the sides of them.
Cora wore a unique shirt featuring a pink background with dark grey shapes and sheer sleeves. The top gave a bit of a view of Cora’s slim midsection as she posed with one hand on her hip and the other fixing her hair.

WWE Nxt Women’s Champion Mandy Rose in a backstage interview. Pic credit: WWE/YouTube
This past weekend saw WWE superstar Mandy Rose achieve history and add more accomplishments to a professional wrestling resume that already included a lengthy reign as Nxt Women’s Champion.
She stepped into the ring with two formidable opponents and overcame the odds, unifying her women’s championship with the Nxt UK Women’s Championship.
That gave Rose both belts and made her the undisputed champ. Following a huge win, she decided to step away from Nxt for a “well-deserved” break. Part of that may have included some nude sunbathing.
The 32-year-old wrestling star shared a stunning photo on Tuesday as she posed outdoors, seemingly nude on a lounge chair in front of a beautiful pool in a residential setting.

In the midst of a packed weekend of wrestling we’ve got this special “unification” Nxt pay-per-view, which sees Nxt and Nxt UK brands take each other on to unify the two brands into one now that Nxt UK is being closed down. Let’s see how the UK contingent fare in this PPV (badly is my guess – a burial seems on the cards) that aired at a sensible time for us UK fans to watch live without dying of exhaustion the next day!

WWE superstar Mandy Rose is preparing for one of the biggest matches of her career, and while she’s been doing some intense training, she’s not afraid to have some quick fun on social media.
The Nxt Women’s Champion recently shared a quick clip of herself sizzling in a shiny latex or vinyl skirt while displaying her lip-syncing skills.
Rose wears a thigh-skimming, tight, black skirt along with a matching black halter top that almost appears connected but dangles down towards the skirt for a captivating look.
Her brunette locks also flow down, and Rose has clearly kept up with the self-tanning. Her makeup is also on point, as the champ tends to look stunning in and out of the ring. For accessories, she’s rocking a shiny wristwatch, silver necklace, and several rings on her hands.

WWE Nxt superstar Tiffany Stratton brought a unique look to her recent match. Pic credit: @tiffanywwe/Instagram
A day after competing in a huge match to close out WWE Nxt 2.0, superstar Tiffany Stratton showed off the stunning new ring gear she wore during her battle with Wendy Choo.
Stratton typically wears light pink and white ring gear or a red and white theme. However, for Tuesday night’s match, she had a black top and shorts featuring pink trim. Pink lacing crisscrossed the center of her top and the sides of her trunks to keep things together.
Tiffany wore pink knee-high boots, and her hair also matched with pink streaks of the color mixed into her intricately-braided long blonde hair.
That created a perfect look for a Lights Out match, where the arena was darker than usual. The darker gear might have even given some advantage since there was less...

Nikki Cross and her brand of chaos opened this week’s Nxt, but this time Nxt’s Twisted Sister engaged in a fierce battle against former Mae Young Classic competitor Mercedes Martinez, who recently put on a classic against Meiko Satomura in the tournament’s Second Round. Stepping inside the yellow ropes this week, The Latina Sensation carried that same energy, along with presenting a massive hurdle for Nxt’s Twisted Sister.
In a true battle of brute force and unhinged aggression, the two brawlers vigorously (and visibly) pushed each other to their limits. When Cross attempted a sleeper hold, Martinez thrust her into the turnbuckle. When Martinez locked in a suffocating guillotine,...

Welcome to this week’s Mae Young Classic review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and the semi-finals are here! Would you like another exclamation point? Here you go…!
Match #1: Toni Storm def. Meiko Satomura in a Semifinal Match The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
In the biggest match of her career, Toni Storm not only took down decorated world-beater Meiko Satomura, but she also punched her ticket to the Mae Young Classic Final this Sunday at WWE Evolution. The Semifinal clash was every bit as hard-hitting as it was expected to be. Satomura used her vast arsenal of strikes and submissions to push Storm to the brink of defeat, but The Lightning Down Under didn’t waver. Storm even trapped Satomura in a submission hold for more than a minute midway through the match, sapping the legend of energy and putting her in true jeopardy...

Welcome to this week’s Mae Young Classic review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a pretty good main event. Are you excited yet? How about this? It’s !@#$%&! awesome! There… we’re good to go.
Match #1: Meiko Satomura def. Lacey Lane in a Quarterfinal Match The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
Lacey Lane won’t bust any more brackets in this year’s Mae Young Classic. The Nxt up-and-comer, who shocked many observers with her spectacular Cinderella run into the Quarterfinals, met her match in Meiko Satomura. Despite Satomura’s immense advantage in experience, Lane showed no deference to the Japanese icon and rejected a mid-match handshake, a decision that Satomura instantly made Lane regret by cutting her down with a devastating kick. With her hometown supporters cheering her on, Lane rebounded to score a near-fall off a top-rope crossbody block. Satomura...

Welcome to this week’s Nerdly Wrestling Awards, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have an interesting week to cover, one that was boring and exciting at the same time. The matches themselves go from bad to great, so we’ll have lots of things to complain about, as well as praise. Let’s get right to it.!
Worst Promo:
Greatest Man Who…Wouldn’t Shut Up (Impact Wrestling) - Austin Aries is a good talker… for about a minute and a half. Having Aries gab for what felt like an eternity is a bad way to get people to pay money to see a fight. Impact had a few candidates for this award, but this one was the biggest waste of time, despite the Eddie Edwards/Moose vignette being pretty bad.
Best Promo:
Marty’s Revelation (Lucha Underground) - This was pretty well performed for a very long,...

Welcome to this edition of the WWE Week In Review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have lots of excellent wrestling matches to cover, so let’s do so.
Worst Promo:
A Moment Of Boredom (Raw) – Alexa Bliss was in one of those “A Moment of Bliss” vignettes that are performed well, but still manage to be dull… like most of today’s television shows.
Best Promo:
Ciampa’s Promise (Nxt) – Tommaso Ciampa pledged to destroy Velveteen Dream if he got in his way. This was a good old-fashioned declaration of war and made Velveteen Dream interesting for the first time in his career.
Worst Moment:
Thundersucked (Super Show Down) – Elias played Thunderstruck before a match. I don’t know if you know this, but Elias can’t sing… and this is a wrestling show.
Best Moment:
Your Team Left (Raw) – As a promo, this was average until the end,...

Match #1: Toni Storm def. Hiroyo Matsumoto in a Second-Round Match The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
Toni Storm was in a state of disbelief after pinning Hiroyo Matsumoto in the first match of the Second Round. After all, Lady Godzilla clobbered The Lightning Down Under with everything she had throughout the match. Although the tenacious Storm returned fire, breaking Matsumoto’s momentum from time to time with a snap-suplex here or a headbutt there, she couldn’t string together more than a few moves before Matsumoto regained control. Matsumoto even thrashed Storm with her devastating Rock Drop signature move, but Storm’s ring awareness saved the day, as she draped her foot over the bottom rope to break the pinfall. The Australian Superstar eventually cinched the victory...
