Yes, this one again includes "A Hero Will Rise" as Part of it's tagline, which Ridley Scott's "Gladiator" did. Score for originality, right? This is the fifth poster for the Paul W.S. Anderson film starring Kit Harington, Kiefer Sutherland, Emily Brownin, Jessica Lucas, Carrie-Anne Moss and Joe Pingue. Frankly, I'm not invested much in the film as it comes from the very same helmer who spewed out those horrible "Resident Evil" films, and "The Three Musketeers" which would likely make Alexandre Dumas roll over in his grave. "Pompeii" hits theaters on February 21st, 2014 and scripted by Lee Scott Batchler, Janet Scott Batchler and Michael Robert Johnson. Set in 79 A.D., the story tells the epic story of Milo (Harington), a slave turned invincible gladiator who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love Cassia (Browning), the beautiful daughter...

As we begin the month of October, I fondly remember Halloween Havoc, WCW’s annual fall extravaganza. Halloween Havoc was the one pay-per-view I looked forward to every year since it seemed like the company was inventing some weird gimmick. Some of them worked very well (The Thunderdome or Thunder Cage before the threat of lawsuit), others had mixed results (Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal) and others made me cringe (Chamber of Horrors, Sumo Monster Truck Match). Today, I want to talk about the one Halloween Havoc that didn’t have some weird or insane gimmick match: Halloween Havoc 1990 with the tagline “Terror Rules the Ring”. The card emanated from The Uic Pavilion in Chicago, a location that had held two previous Nwa PPVs: Starrcade 1987 and The Chi-Town Rumble.

Conservative party members link funding of drama about the drunken exploits of young Tories to the decision to cut film industry subsidies
• News on the BFI's takeover from the UK Film Council
• Michael Billington's review of Posh
Conservative MPs have cried foul over the British Film Institute's decision to fund a new movie portraying the drunken exploits of the notorious Bullingdon Club, which once counted David Cameron and Boris Johnson as members.
The drama, Posh, is based on the Royal Court play of the same name by Laura Wade, which later transferred to the West End. Due out next year and starring Max (son of Jeremy) Irons, Game of Thrones' Natalie Dormer and Douglas Booth, it focuses on a group of decadent Oxford University students called The Riot Club that causes chaos at a pub during a swanky dinner. The upper class yobs sneak in a prostitute, wreck...

Last year prior to the release of "The Tree Of Life," we revisted the films of Terrence Malick, learning everything we could about them. And while we exhaustively delved into "The Thin Red Line," it seems there is even more to learn about the film, including one nugget of totally random, but interesting bit of trivia. The King Of Pop and The King Of Being Reclusive both met one day about the movie. Music editor Lee Scott recently chatted with fansite All Things Shining (reprinted at Soundtrack.net), and talked about his work on the movie, which amounted to seven months of the lengthy production. "When I started the film in June, 1998, the three picture editors and the director Terrence Malick had already been cutting the film for about eight months," he shares. As he recounts, there was a massive amount of material to wrangle, with "five types of music...

Earlier this week we discussed the recent announcement that Seventh Generation is teaming up with Walmart in a strategic partnership that will see the green cleaning brand sell products in 1,500 Walmart stores. It's the most unlikely of alliances, considering that Seventh Generation's co-founder has said in the past that "hell would freeze over before Seventh Generation would ever do business with Walmart." But at the same time, the partnership has been a long time coming, Jeffrey Hollender explains to FastCompany.com.
"They aren't the same company they were when I said what I said," Hollender concedes. "I'm the first one to admit that I was naive in thinking it was impossible for them to change."
Hollender's thinking has slowly changed since meeting with former Walmart CEO Lee Scott in 2005. At the time, Walmart was "fundamentally unwilling to engage in dialogue with its critics." But thanks to guidance from Seventh Generation...

Nearly three years after being fired by Wal-Mart, marketer Julie Roehm faces her toughest rebranding campaign ever.
Julie Roehm is cornered. The lanky blonde, who's partial to skinny white jeans and ivory Ray-Bans, is stuck inside a brick McCastle in one of Bentonville's gated communities, wedged into the northwest corner of Arkansas between a cattle ranch and a snaking country road. Roehm bought her manse three-and-a-half years ago, 2 miles away from her new boss at the time, Wal-Mart's then-ceo Lee Scott. Hired as the retail monster's senior vice president of marketing communications, arguably the top job in her field, she was charged with fighting off Target's aggressive rise by transforming Wal-Mart's image from low-end merch peddler to temple of discount chic. But a career that took 15 years to build unraveled in a flash. After scarcely 10 months on the job, Roehm (pronounced raim) was loudly, publicly fired. The following day, she...
