Ok Hollywood we get it, fairytales are the hot new thing. We know. What with Once Upon a Time and Grimm on TV, Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Killer and Two version of Snow White on the way. Actually scratch that. There’s actually Three version of Snow White on the way… The latest? Why that’s Grimm’s Snow White starring Eliza Bennett as Snow White and Jane March (The Lover, Color of Night) as the evil Queen. Only this Snow White is another Asylum mockbuster!
When the King is killed by ferocious reptile beasts, his Queen takes control of the kingdom. She tries to kill her beautiful stepdaughter, Snow, but she escapes into the enchanted forest…
Rachel Goldenberg, director of the 2010 mockbuster Sherlock Holmes, (you know, the one with Spring-Heeled Jack) is behind the camera, whilst Naomi Selfman, the writer of Mega Python vs. Gatoroid and Mega Shark vs.

Fairy tales are hot again in Hollywood. You’ve got “Once Upon a Time” and “Grimm” on TV. Bryan’s Singer’s Jack the Giant Killer and Pixar’s Brave continue the trend on big screens this summer. And we’re getting not one, but two – Two – Snow White movies. No wonder The Asylum is jumping on the trend with Grimm’s Snow White.
Set for DVD/VOD release on February 14th, Grimm’s Snow White stars Eliza Bennett as Snow White and Jane March (The Lover, Color of Night) as the evil Queen.
Synopsis:

Oh, if only The Asylum actually was producing a movie called Snow White and the 2-Headed Shark. I would watch that in a heartbeat. But they do have a new dark fantasy retelling of Snow White in the works, and we have new artwork for 2-Headed Shark Attack.
When I saw that The Asylum had updated its website to announce a supernatural Snow White in the works, my very first thought was as to what must have brought this on. Then I remembered that one of the big movies for next summer is Snow White and the Huntsman with Kristen Stewart as an extra pouty Snow White. The Asylum will be beating Universal to the punch by several months with a Valentine's Day DVD release of Grimm's Snow White.

Okay, let's get one thing clear. Mega Python vs. Gatoroid is a bad movie. The film contains glaring continuity errors, the acting gets pretty wooden at times, the script is just as lazy as you'd expect and the CGI is pretty bad (though not as bad as Lake Placid 3). In short, it's everything you'd expect from The Asylum, but that's not to say the film isn't a lot of fun. While it doesn't reach the inspired heights of unintentional lunacy in Mega Piranha, director Mary Lambert keeps things moving with very little drag time and refuses to take things too seriously.
The movie opens with Dr. Nikki Riley (Debbie Gibson), an environment activist, breaking into a building to steal a bunch of exotic pythons. With her are Gia and Ben, who are...

Back in early December of last year, I read a newspaper article in which the author bemoaned moviegoer's lack of interest in serious cinema.
Rather than flocking to The Hurt Locker or The Green Zone, people seem more interested in lowbrow popcorn crunchers than an "important film." Never mind that attendance is down across the board, and even expected hits like (*shudder*) Little Fockers didn't drawing in the expected crowds. And the author didn't anticipate the success and staying power of both True Grit and Black Swan.
Nope, this writer's overriding concern was that until our socioeconomic situation improves, serious films will continue being shunned by the public. With such a brilliant summation, that it's no surprise that the author is syndicated, while I just post on a blog.

The fine folks running The Asylum have done it again. Purveyor of mockbusters and Syfy mega-features such as Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus, Mega Piranha and, of course, Mega Shark Versus Crocosaurus, The Asylum has now delivered unto us Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, and it's safe to say that this low-budget delight delivers everything you might desire from a film bearing such a title.
Although the flick's big battle is ostensibly between the titular creatures, in truth the main event features '80s pop tarts Tiffany and Debbie Gibson playing strong women at odds who, by movie's end, are united in more ways than one by a common mega-enemy.
Gibson stars as Nikki, a fervent animal rights activist whose zeal borders on the sociopathic. Tiffany plays Terry, a park ranger whose beat is the Florida Everglades.

Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus is the latest giant sized animal feature from The Asylum and this time, as the title suggests, a shark gets supersized along with a crocodile. The tagline promises: "whoever wins we lose!" and of course this is borrowed from Avp: Alien vs Predator. A trailer is unavailable, but the giant creature funness begins on DVD December 21st

The mega madness continues at the American Film Market, but this one is '80s themed. The Asylum has brought their latest with Mega Python vs. Gatoroid to this event and currently the film is in post-production. The film is like an '80s pop song flashback as both Tiffany and Debbie Gibson star. Also starring are Mickey Dolenz ("The Monkees") and Kathryn Joosten ("Desperate Housewives"). Have a look at the early poster art and synopsis here.
Also, The Asylum has no shortage of monstrous films beginning with the title Mega. There has been Mega Piranha (details here), Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus and Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus. All of these films and many others at The Asylum create a cult following, similar to the self-destructive followers of Jim Jones. More details inside.

Mary Lambert + Tiffany + Debbie Gibson = The Asulym's Mega Python vs Gatoroid.
Ahh, Ayslum. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love you to the width and breadth and height Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus can reach.
Director Mary Lambert's newest film is a horror/sci-fi starring not one, but Two, genius 80s singers - Tiffany and Debbie Gibson. There's also a giant monster/animal thing and probably loads of awesomeness, and the story is by Naomi Selfman. Does it get any better? I mean, ask yourself, can you be more excited about an animal/monster/hybrid Asylum movie? I can't.
What is a 'Mega Python'? Well, I assume it's like a 'Mega Piranha', obviously. What is a 'Gatoroid'? Clearly, some kind of gator-ish monster thing. Geez.
Synopsis: After a species of giant python invades the everglades, park workers breed mutant gators to counter the threat.

Call it Celebrity Deathmatch, Syfy style. Debbie Gibson -- who long has preferred to go by Deborah Gibson -- starred in the Syfy original movie Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus, while fellow 1980's pop music sensation Tiffany led the cast of a different Syfy epic, Mega Piranha. Now, Gibson and Tiffany are set to team up for Mega Python Vs Gatoroid, which will begin production next week and air sometime in 2011. According to a Syfy press release, Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid will unfold in the Florida Everglades, where huge pythons threaten the alligator population. Gibson is set to play a fanatical animal rights activist who frees illegally imported pet-shop snakes, which then become the oversized pythons. Meanwhile, Tiffany will co-star as an overzealous park ranger who's concerned about the growing ecological damage and uses dangerous methods to try to save her beloved gators. Of course, her plan backfires, causing a war between the species and,...

If you thought watching a supersized shark take on an equally supersized octopus was entertaining, wait'll you get a load of what the Asylum is cooking up for Syfy. Prepare yourself for ... "Mega Python vs. Gatoroid"!
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that 1980s pop stars Deborah "Debbie" Gibson and Tiffany will star together in the Syfy original Saturday night movie, to be produced by "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus" studio the Asylum. Both Gibson and Tiffany have previously appeared in Asylum films — Gibson in "Mega Shark ..." and Tiffany in "Mega Piranha" — but this is the first time the duo will appear in a film together.

As if Germany Vs England wasn’t enough drama and excitement to look forward to we now have another clash of epic proportions coming our way when 80’s pop babes Debbie Gibson and Tiffany face off in one of Asylum/SyFy’s very popular but completely mental mockbusters.
Gibson of course starred in last years brilliant Mega Shark Vs Giant Octopus. A film that was so glorious and over-the-top that it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable films of recent years. I even found it funny even though Debbie Gibson’s career came way before my time.
So exactly what are the two retro pop stars going to be fighting over? Well, the new film will be written by Asylum veteran Naomi Selfman who also wrote the ridiculous 2012 Doomsday which (funnily enough was a lot better than the garbage that Roland Emmerich gave us) and directed by Mary Lambert.

Eighties teen pop princess Debbie Gibson starring in their Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus. Her perceived Eighties teen pop rival Tiffany recently starred in their Mega Piranha. Now The Asylum is partnering with Syfy to bring the two Eighties pop performers together for one film so that they can do battle on the undercard of a big Mega Python vs. Gatoroid main event.

Syfy has cast 1980s pop-star rivals Debbie Gibson and Tiffany in one of the network's signature Saturday night original movies.
The network promises an epic battle between the former teen pop stars, who will co-star in "Mega Python vs. Gatoroid."
Gibson will play a fanatical animal-rights activist who frees illegally imported exotic snakes from pet stores, sending them into the Everglades, where they grow to mega sizes. Tiffany will play an overzealous park ranger who uses dangerous methods to save endangered alligators.
In the script, the pair brawl at a party, then take matters outside into the swamp.
Both singers previously have been cast in Syfy originals but never have appeared together.
Executive vp programming and original movies Thomas Vitale said the idea was hatched by Syfy's creative team after Tiffany visited their office and said she always has wanted to work with Gibson; the media often portrayed the...
