Relativity Media and the Bandito Brothers, the team behind February's "Act of Valor" film, are shopping around a TV series version of the feature to both broadcast and cable networks says The Live Feed.
The original film mixed real life U.S. Navy SEALs and Navy Special Warfare Combatant Crewmen with actors like Roselyn Sanchez, Nestor Serrano and Emilio Rivera. Though the central story was fake, dealing with a mission to recover a kidnapped CIA agent, the techniques and combat tactics used in the field were authentic.
Shot on the cheap, the film still managed to pull in a modest but profitable $80 million worldwide. With the show, the aim is to create "something more visceral than any other show on television" according to RelativityREAL CEO Tom Forman.

Chicago – “Act of Valor” is a woeful miscalculation on every conceivable level. To call it a movie would be inaccurate. You know those slickly photographed, stupendously smug army recruitment videos that often appear in pre-show movie theater ads? Imagine one of those videos stretched to two hours and passed off as entertainment. It’s like a Michael Bay knockoff without the aliens.
After co-directing 2007’s documentary short, “Navy Swcc,” Mike “Mouse” McCoy and Scott Waugh were asked by the Navy to make a movie about the SEALs. Through their research, McCoy and Waugh decided that the only way to make an accurate film would be to cast real-life Navy SEALs who can shoot real guns and perform real stunts. Yet for all the “reality” on display, McCoy and Waugh have no idea how to make their film feel the least bit authentic.

Although the film stumbles during the dialogue scenes and the plot seems very familiar, Act of Valor entertains thanks to its incredible action sequences and the level of authenticity that is captured on the screen. Act Of Valour
Review by Dan Clark of Movie Revolt
Stars: Alex Veadov, Roselyn Sanchez, Nestor Serrano, Jeffrey Barnachea, Drea Castro | Written by Kurt Johnstad | Directed by Mike McCoy, Scott Waugh
The simple premise of Act of Valour has sparked some controversy. Some see a film made by the U.S. Military that casts real life Navy Seals as an opportunity to see a true reflection of the American spirit while others see it as nothing more than a propaganda piece. Personally I feel the idea of casting real life Navy Seals in a film has some potential. With their knowledge and background we could get a film that replicates the trial and tribulations they actual go through on a daily basis. Action that wipes away the cleanliness and polish we have come to expect, and injects a sense of realism to provide something new and different. However that wasn’t the case at all.

This week, Fat Guy Kevin Carr fights a battle of wits between the stuffy and overly dramatic Oscar contenders that will be buzzing through the weekend and the genre-specific schlock that is being released with no hope of winning any sort of award at all. Before hunkering down on the couch to watch Billy Crystal time warp back into the mid-90s on Sunday, Kevin skydives into the multiplex to check out Act of Valor. Then he joins a commune to be a modern hippie while watching Wanderlust. Finally, he leaves the multiplex to stalk Amanda Seyfried and her on-screen sister because he believes he’s at least as creepy as the legions of creepy guys in Gone. Oh, and that Tyler Perry movie? He skips that with a wave of the hand and a snap of the fingers. If it ain’t got Madea in it, it ain’t worth watching! Want...

Act of Valor
Starring Roselyn Sanchez, Alex Veadov, and Nestor Serrano
Directed by Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh
Rated R
When attempting to make a movie about Navy SEALs, directors Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh had a problem; how do you capture the essence of a true Navy Seal with an actor? The answer was clear... you don't. So they took four months to convince eight real Navy SEALs to be in their film, in exchange for not using their names in any of the credits. And to try for even more authenticity, live ammunition was used in several of the action scenes.
Yeah, there wasn't a whole lot of messing around here, especially when you use the real thing.
Our eight SEALs are faced with a daunting task, starting with a mission to Costa Rica to rescue CIA agent Morales (Roselyn Sanchez), which leads to an even more challenging...

Asked by the Navy to create a film to honor the fallen Seals since 9-11 who gave their lives to protect our country, Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh took six months to gain the active team’s trust and begin to understand exactly what they do on a day-to-day basis. As the directing pair’s brief interview playing before my Act of Valor screening explained, once it became time to make the movie neither could fathom doing it with actors who simply could never understand the emotional complexity of such a job. Who besides the actual man could wrap his head around being a 6 foot tall hulk of an Operator barking orders while deployed and a humble, tender father of five back home who leaves them behind with love and duty coexisting in his heart? No one.
So the filmmakers worked hard and cajoled a group of active Seals—who...

Title: Act of Valor Directed By: Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh Starring: Roselyn Sanchez, Jason Cottle, Alex Veadov, Nestor Serrano, Emilio Rivera Basing a film on true events really puts the audience in a hard place. The character on screen is doing something great and so did a real person out there in the world. How can you criticize a movie about Navy SEALs who really risked everything for their country? As nice as it would be to give these guys some Oscar statues to add to their likely endless collection of medals, they’re Navy SEALs, not actors and Act of Valor is a videogame with killer effects on automatic...

Last night, residents throughout Hollywood were given quite a fright as flying balls of fire, alegedly, lit up the night sky.
The fears of terrorist attacks, UFOs and apocalyptic meteor showers were actually the reel-life premiere for the film "Act of Valor."
So what were the balls of fire? Real Us Navy Seals jumped from a plane high above the Los Angeles skyline and parachuted down to the red carpet outside the Arclight Theater on Sunset Boulevard. Now that's what we call an arrival.
"Act of Valor" features Roselyn Sanchez, Alex Veadov, Nestor Serrano and Emilio Rivera -- as well as active duty U.S. Navy Seals and U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant Crewmen. It is anticipated to be an unprecedented film experience, which opens February 24, 2012.

Five action-packed clips from the long-in-the-making action film “Act of Valor”, storming theaters everywhere next week after a four-year production. Why did it take so long to make? Well, all those real-life Navy SEALs operators in the movie couldn’t spend all their time making movies, you know, they actually had to go around the world killing people. All bad guys, we’re sure. (Probably.) When the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative leads to the discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the U.S., a team of SEALs is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. As the valiant men of Bandito Platoon race to stop a coordinated attack that could kill and wound thousands of American civilians, they must balance their commitment to country, team and their families back home. Starring Roselyn Sanchez, Nestor Serrano, Gonzalo Menendez, Jason Cottle, Ailsa Marshall, Alex Veadov, Drea Castro, and directed by Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh.
