Ninón Sevilla
Edit
For decades she reigned supreme as the Queen of the Rumberas (rumba dancers), the blonde High Priestess of the Cabarets, in Mexican melodramas.
In 1955
François Truffaut
said: "Is Ninón dancing for glory? No way, never. It is quite clear Ninón is dancing for pleasure!"
She found the body of fellow actress
Miroslava
after she committed suicide at her home in Mexico City.
Had one son, Genaro Lozano.
Director
Joe Menendez
is her great nephew.
