In the shocking results of Tuesday night’s election, Donald Drumpf won the presidency of the United States. Take as long as you need for that to sink in, but we’re switching gears to focus on the future Flotus, Melania Drumpf. While her tenure as first lady is expected to include fighting cyberbullying and getting involved with women’s health issues, it’s also going to include a lot of high-fashion moments. If her campaign style is any indication, we’re in for sleek designs, bell sleeves and hopefully many, many more pussy-bow blouses to come. Below, her chicest...

Chris Christieâ.s former deputy chief of staff broke her silence on the Bridgegate scandal for the first time in three years, testifying Friday that the New Jersey governor knew about Fort Lee lane closures one month before they started in September 2013.
Bridget Kelly is on trial for allegedly plotting with two other former Christie allies to close lanes on the George Washington Bridge connecting New York and New Jersey. Prosecutors say Kelly sent the infamous “time for some traffic problems” email as part of a revenge plot against a Democratic mayor who wouldnâ.t endorse the Republican governorâ.s 2013 re-election bid.

It’s going to take a lot of praying to repent for these jokes.

The traditionally lighthearted fundraising dinner for Catholic Charities quickly took a turn for the 2016 when Trump accused Clinton of “hating Catholics.” The jab was met with jeers and boos, which continued as Trump called the former secretary of state...

Donald Trump broke tradition with his remarks at the annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner in New York City, delivering a rough takedown of his political rival, Hillary Clinton, instead of the light-hearted humor the dinner is typically known for.
Trump, who spoke before Clinton, notably lacked the self-deprecating humor that previous presidential candidates have offered at the fundraiser meant to raise money for Catholic Charities.
“This is the first time ever, ever, that Hillary is sitting down, speaking to major corporate leaders and not getting paid for it,” he said, receiving gasps and boos.

Oh, you thought Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were done trading verbal jabs? After one explosive (and final) presidential debate last night in Las Vegas, the two candidates reunited in New York City for the Alfred E. The person sitting in-between them? Cardinal Dolan. Yes, please put a Catholic authority between these two. However, instead of throwing political punches at each other, Clinton and Trump each took the podium to throw punchlines in what became a (mostly) lighthearted and entertaining roast. Each...

Donald Trump got booed tonight while appearing with Hillary Clinton at the Annual Alfred E. Smith charity dinner in Manhattan, a rarity for the 71-year old event. Donald Trump was booed at a Catholic charity dinner in New York City Thursday night after his gentle roasting of Hillary Clinton — seated just feet away from him on the dais — turned vicious. “We learned so much from WikiLeaks. For example, Hillary believes that it’s vital to deceive the people by having one public policy and a totally different policy in private,” Trump said at the Alfred E. Smith charity dinner hosted by New York Catholic Cardinal Timothy Dolan at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan. “For example here she is tonight in public pretending not to hate Catholics.” Every four.

It began in 1960, when two bitterly opposed presidential hopefuls — Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy — stopped by to break bread and crack wise at each other's expense. Ever since, the Alfred E. But that was before Donald Trump came along. "The political playbook is thrown out the window," says Mark Katz, a veteran speechwriter who penned gags for

Stephen Colbert took aim at just about everyone during a Roman Catholic charity dinner in New York City earlier this week. The funnyman made digs at famous politicians, members of the media and even Pope Francis. The Colbert Report star didn't disappoint as he delivered a joke-filled speech at the Alfred E. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney traded barbs in front of Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Katie Couric, and the archbishop of New York at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner. A tradition since 1944, the uber-formal "Al Smith Dinner" has become a political ritual, raising millions of dollars for healthcare causes in memory of the first Roman Catholic to run for president of the United States.
During each presidential election, the candidates take time out to attend the dinner and square off in a comedy battle, of sorts. Obama and Romney were no exception this time around, each delivering monologues that lasted around ten minutes.
Here are some of the one-liners that got the philanthropical crowd laughing the loudest (the full monologues can be seen below):
Barack Obama
"Everyone, please take your seats. Otherwise, Clint Eastwood will yell at them."
"Some of you may have noticed I had a lot more energy in our second debate.

Clint Eastwood may be Mitt Romney's most famous supporter, but his daughter isn't following in her father's footsteps.
TMZ caught up with the actress and model and asked her if she shared Clint's political views. "I happen to be voting for a different man," she said. "But I love that he stands up for what he believes in."
Barack Obama also recently mentioned the elder Eastwood, jokingly telling guests at last night's Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner to take their seats, "or else Clint Eastwood will yell at them."
The quip was a reference to Eastwood's speech at the Republican National Convention, where the actor berated an empty chair that he pretended was occupied by Obama. The moment was widely mocked and even taken as a sign of a derailed Romney campaign, though Obama would go on to say he is a big fan of the actor and didn't take it personally.

They say "dying is easy, comedy is hard," but explaining comedy is just plain deadly. On Thursday night's The Last Word, host Lawrence O'Donnell and panel were handed the thankless task of (over)-analyzing the comedy stylings of President Barack Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney at this year's 67th annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner. O'Donnell was not pleased with Gov. Romney's ratio of jokes targeting President Obama, versus those at his own expense, but a check of the transcripts for the 2008 Al Smith Dinner shows a similar performance from a certain upstart Senator.

Manchester, N.H. — The presidential campaign, heavy on finger-pointing and recrimination, is taking a brief detour so President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney can play politics for laughs.
The rivals are quieting the bickering to address the venerable Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, a white-tie gala Thursday evening at New York City's Waldorf Astoria Hotel that has been a required stop for politicians since the end of World War II. Obama also planned to play for laughs on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" while he's in Manhattan.
The president campaigned earlier Thursday in tightly contested New Hampshire and asked the state's voters to give him more time in office to get the economy back on track. "I need your help to finish what we started in 2008."

On the evening of January 6, Admiral Mike Mullen got into his armored SUV and girded himself for the last meeting of his day. And his aides? Slave drivers! He'd wanted to cancel his appearance on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, but he had done that once before, and they thought it would be bad form to back out again.

Rival presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama gave a time-out to their contentious race tonight, appearing together at the Alfred E. Smith Charity dinner at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City, where they playfully roasted each other, and themselves. McCain spoke first, saying that Oprah Winfrey refers to Obama as "The One," but, "being a friend and colleague of Barack, I just called him 'That One.' He doesn't mind at all. In fact, he even has a pet name for me -- 'George Bush.'" He also referred to the now-infamous "Joe the Plumber" who came up repeatedly in last night's debate: "Events are moving fast in my campaign and it's true that I dismissed all of my senior advisers. All of their positions will now be held by a man named Joe the Plumber." When Obama was up, he too made a few jokey gestures towards McCain's camp.
