When we last parted ways with Bon Temps, Sookie had fired a shot at an invading werewolf. Did she hit her target? Was Eric able to save her? Is Bill still being held captive by The King of Mississippi? Let's catch up inside, but be warned, like always, if you haven't watched yet, this is filled with detail and loaded with spoilers.
We open where we left off, with Sookie's bullet, in Matrix-time, flying through Gram's living room. Eric leaps in front of the bullet to prevent the death of the werewolf, hoping to gain information from him. Upon seeing Eric's blood, the wolf transforms back to human, and Sookie can hear his thoughts, excitement over the now present V flowing from Eric's chest. Eric holds the wolf off him, trying to get answers from him. He chokes him until he struggles for air, and when he lets him loose,...

Holy crap that was weird! I'm talking about the ending of course, but lest I get ahead of myself we should talk about Franklin Mott. Now there's another man...er...vamp I can dig. He's at least a couple of decades younger than his book counterpart; I'm not sure why that was necessary. It could have been interesting to have a hot, older Franklin but this one does have a lovely accent - all the better to deliver his sarcasm, my dears. It can't be healthy that I find myself wondering about vampire sex since it's pretend, but Franklin certainly did make it look intense. Now what I really want to know is what's in that Bon Temps water, because the stupid runs deep.
There's a cool slow-mo traveling bullet that escaped from the gun Sookie fired and is meant for the were intruder, but Eric jumps into its path and takes the hit.

True Blood'S Cast Of ... Thousands?
I'm not sure how much overlap there is between Gleekers and fans of True Blood, but I'm certainly happy that just as Kurt and Company exit stage right we have Lafayette, Sookie and the rest of the gang from Bon Temps returning this week. We need something really buzzy on TV to write about, no? Trust me, it's not going to be Rookie Blue.
So what did I think after watching the first three episodes? For starters I never imagined Maryann would return and hook up with Lafayette. Kidding! There's no sign's of Maryann excepting all the missing memories folks have about those orgies, and as for Lafayette, he is still his fierce, fabulous self.
Actually, I can't say much lest director Alan Ball send one of the werewolves to shut me up, although if that werewolf were Alcide (Joe Manganiello, pictured right), I might not complain too much.
