LeVar Burton will serve as grand marshal of the 2022 Tournament of Roses on January 1, 2022, with the festivities beginning in Pasadena at 8 a.m. Pt/11 a.m. Et.
The parade, with the theme “Dream. Believe. Achieve,” marks the event’s return to Pasadena following last year’s cancellation by the Tournament of Roses Association due to the Covid pandemic. A pre-taped special aired last New Year’s Day.
In addition to Burton, this year’s parade will feature LeAnn Rimes, who will kick off the event with a specially-written Rose Parade song “Throw My Arms Around the World,” and, as the grand finale performance, CMA new artist of the year Jimmie Allen.
Other performers include Laine Hardy, Hot 8 Brass Band and the traditional line-up of high school and college marching bands and floats.
The parade precedes the 108th Rose Bowl Game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Utah Utes, who face each other at 2 p.

Leanza Cornett, the former Miss America and ex-wife of Mark Steines, has died. She was 49.
Cornett suffered a “serious head injury” on Oct. 12, according to her health & wellness group Leanza Cornett’s Circle of Love. The blast radius from allegations of sexual harassment by Home and Family creator Woody Fraser just legally expanded for Hallmark Channel owner Crown Media Family Networks in a wrongful-termination and harassment suit from a former chef on the homespun show.

A former chef for Hallmark Channel has filed a lawsuit against the network’s parent company, alleging she was fired for reporting harassment by one of the network’s executive producers.
Shanti Hinojos, a former food stylist and lead chef for Hallmark’s “Home & Family,” named Crown Media and the production companies behind the show in a wrongful termination lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday. In the suit, Hinojos claimed she was fired from the show after reporting sexual harassment by Woody Fraser, creator and executive producer of the show.

Shanti Hinojos filed a lawsuit against Crown Media, the channel’s parent company, claiming that Fraser harassed her for years and the network failed to respond. According to Variety, the lawsuit from Steines is against Crown Media, and he claims that he was fired from the series because he spoke up in support of female workers on the show who were harassed by executive producer, Woody Fraser.
What's more, Steines is alleging that he witnessed Fraser sneaking up on females who worked on the show and rubbing their shoulders.
In addition to that, he claimed that a photo was doing the rounds on the set back in 2017, and it found Fraser “grabbing the face of young a female producer and forcing a kiss on her lips as she resisted and grimaced.”
Determined to take action, Steines said that he sent the photo to his rep for the network to take action against Woody.

The parent company of Hallmark Channel has fired back against former “Home & Family” co-host Mark Steines’ lawsuit alleging that he was let go because he supported two women who had filed sexual harassment complaints against the show’s executive producer, saying that his legal claims have “no merit.”
In a statement issued to TheWrap on Thursday, Crown Media Family Networks said that the decision to replace Steines was due to declining ratings.
Crown also said that third party research “indicated that Mr. Steines was perceived negatively.”

Updated with Crown Media Family Networks statement: Mark Steines has filed a lawsuit against Hallmark Channel owner Crown Media, four months after he was abruptly removed as co-host of the network’s flagship series Home and Family. His four-claim suit filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court alleges that his exit came after he stood up in support of two women on the show’s staff who had accused the show’s then-executive producer Woody Fraser of sexual harassment, and he was eventually fired for his stance.
The suit (read it here) names Crown Media Family Networks and Crown Media Holdings as defendants and accuses them of retaliation and wrongful termination. It says Steines “through his representatives regularly warned and alerted Defendants that Executive Producer Woody Fraser harassed and verbally abused producers on the show. Defendants took no action on his complaints.”

A former Hallmark Channel host sued the network on Thursday, alleging that he was fired after he supported two women who made sexual harassment claims.
Mark Steines, the ex-host of “Home & Family,” says that he repeatedly complained about Woody Fraser, the 83-year-old executive producer of the show. Fraser is veteran of daytime television, having launched “The Mike Douglas Show” and “Good Morning America,” and served as an early mentor to Roger Ailes.
According to Steines, Fraser harassed and abused staffers on the show, and displayed misogynistic behavior. Steines also accuses Fraser of making lewd comments in his earpiece while he was interviewing attractive guests, such as “Can you see up her skirt (or down her shirt) from there?” or “Wouldn’t you love to turn her around and bend her over and do her from behind?”
Employees would go to Steines with complaints about Fraser, and he would relay them to management,...

Mark Steines, the former “Home & Family” co-host who exited the Hallmark Channel show earlier this year, filed a lawsuit against Hallmark parent company Crown Media on Thursday, alleging that he was fired after supporting two women who brought sexual-harassment claims against the series’ executive producer at the time, Woody Fraser.
According to the suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, “In the spring and summer of 2017, two courageous ‘Home & Family’ female producers asserted claims of sexual harassment against Mr. Fraser and Defendants. Plaintiff Mark Steines stood up in support of the women by providing truthful information to the women’s attorneys in support of their claims. Mr. Steines acted appropriately in opposing and reporting Mr. Fraser’s sexual harassment, and supporting the women who spoke out against Mr. Fraser. After learning that Mr. Steines had spoken with the women and their attorney, Defendants chose to flagrantly violate the law by retaliating against him.

Former Paramount TV president Amy Powell has denied making the insensitive and inappropriate comments that led to her firing on Thursday.
“There is no truth to the allegation that I made insensitive comments in a professional setting — or in any setting. The facts will come out and I will be vindicated,” Powell said in a statement to TheWrap.
Her statement came just hours after her dismissal from the company, which was announced in an internal memo from Paramount Pictures chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos on Thursday afternoon.

NBCUniversal Distribution senior vice president of programming and development Linda Finnell is departing the company, insiders tell TheWrap.
Finnell’s responsibilities will be absorbed by her colleagues, a person with knowledge of the division’s inner-workings tells us. Finnell reports in to Tracie Wilson, who runs the syndication arm. Finnell was in the office Thursday and is said to be parting ways with her longterm company on good terms. Her contract was simply not renewed, insiders said.

It’s been a week since Hallmark Channel unceremoniously divorced Mark Steines from its Home & Family, and today the former co-host finally broke his social media silence.
But there was no earth-shaking revelation or tart-tongued rebuke. Instead, the lifestyle show’s original male face simply thanked fans for their “love & kindness this past week” — and also for wishing him a happy birthday:
Anyone expecting Steines to take a slap at his former employer or show likely clicked elsewhere.
Hallmark Channel announced on May 31 that it had “parted ways” with Steines, who had co-hosted Home & Family since its October 2012 premiere. The next day, his rep said, “The network’s given explanation for making the change was ‘creative reasons’; there were no other reasons given. … We had had nothing but positive reviews and feedback from Hallmark for the entirety of the time he has been on the show including this year.
