- In 1954 he opened one of the first gyms in the U.K. that allowed all races to train there. In the '60s he also opened the Globe, a Caribbean restaurant and nightclub in Bayswater, remaining in charge of it until his death.
- One of seven brothers, he arrived in England from Jamaica in the late 1940's. He had ambitions of becoming a doctor, but changed his plans after appearing in several small roles on stage. His first work on screen was as a stuntman.
- Survived by two daughters, two brothers and two grandchildren.
- Has acted in both the Eon James Bond franchise and the Doctor Who franchise.
