Pamela Anderson got a lavish gift from Sam Simon just weeks before he died, and ironically the show of affection is the very thing that has made her persona non grata at his private funeral. Pam and Sam have been tight for years. We're told a couple of weeks before the co-creator of "The Simpsons" succumbed to Colon Cancer, he gave her a ring worth around $800,000. Sources who were close to Sam tell us his...

For the second time in four episodes, this week's episode of Game of Thrones finds the world of Westeros reeling from the death of one of its young kings.
Just as the aftermath of last season's Red Wedding had each character in the Seven Kingdom's dealing with their place in the new Lannister hegemony, the murder of Joffrey exploded that burgeoning stasis, and our assorted cripples, bastards and broken things have found themselves adrift in a world where nobody's sure exactly who's on top any more.

After being sent to the elimination round week after week, Brooklyn decides to throw a house party in an effort to win over the rest of the cast. Brooklyn holds a parody reenactment of last week’s challenge, The Insane Games, and surprisingly, everyone is on their best behavior.
“People are pretending to get along, which is nice,” quips Las Vegas’ Trishelle.
The next day the cast gets a warning from Tj when they assemble for this week’s challenge. “If you do not make it through this challenge, you ain’t ever going to make it through my final challenge,” says Tj. This week’s challenge is called “Logged Out.” It is a puzzle game, where the teams must travel up a mountain, visiting three checkpoints. The answer key is at the first checkpoint, where the teams must memorize the completed puzzle.

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 8, Episode 3 of The CW's "Supernatural," entitled "Heartache."
Episode three of "Supernatural" Season 8 (which was actually filmed first this year to give director Jensen Ackles time to prepare) was basically a standard "Monster of the Week" installment, but like many of the show's best standalone entries, it also helped contextualize the brothers' relationship to help the audience understand what's motivating them at this point in the season.
Up until this week's episode, Dean had seemingly convinced himself that Sam would eventually reacclimatize to the life and rediscover his passion for hunting, just as Dean did in Purgatory, but "Heartache" saw Sam tell his older brother, in no uncertain terms, that he fully intended to quit the family business once they'd found Kevin and laid their Hell Gate quest to rest.
It's both refreshing and a little heartbreaking to see the...

Sam Frears, son of the film director Stephen Frears and literary editor Mary-Kay Wilmers, has the rare degenerative condition familial dysautonomia. This extract from a new book vividly illustrates how he overcomes daily struggles to lead a rich life
Sam Frears walks into the Trojka Russian Tea Rooms in Regent's Park Road, north London, on the arm of my friend, who has recently introduced us. This morning we're having breakfast together for the first time. Sam is 40 years old, but looks younger. His hair is thick brown, his face reminiscent of black-and-white photos from the 1970s. One eye seems partially closed behind his dark-rimmed glasses. He walks slowly but with purpose, leaning into his companion yet somehow independent of him. He puts his hand out to the table and slides his body around to his seat. He says hello and speaks with the husky lightness of a man who has...

Last week, amidst storms and lightning and The Angels and Demon drama, we were introduced to a stereotypical overachieving Asian-American kid, Kevin, who turned out to be the new prophet and the only one who could translate The Word of God.
The Word revealed that the ultimate weapon to kill a Leviathan is “a bone of a righteous mortal, washed in the bloods of the three fallen – A fallen angel, King of fallen humanity, i.e. King of Hell i.e. Crowley, and father of the fallen beasts i.e. an Alpha monster.”
And after volunteering his blood for that of the fallen angel, semi-crazy Castiel took off. He’s currently on a tour, with Meg, visiting dog tracks and apiaries around the world.
With that, I welcome you all to the penultimate episode of Supernatural.
SucroCorp: “Our goal is to keep the people living longer and tasting better.”

Fittingly, the final episode of this season starts out with Mike, who is feeling sorry for himself, arriving home by himself to wallow in his misery. He finds Snooki in bed and tries to talk to her, but she pretends to be asleep. Smartest thing she’s done all season.
As the rest of the gang comes home, Sammi and Ronnie discuss that something has to be done about Mike. Sammi says that Mike is bringing down the house,...

Sam Ronson 's DUI comes as no surprise to her friends ... who have been worried that Sam has "not been acting like herself" lately ... sources extremely close to the DJ tell TMZ. We're told ... in the past couple of months, Ronson has been hitting the nightclubs A Lot harder than she used to -- and for more than just work -- staying out longer hours ... and boozing more than ever. Sources connected to Sam tell...

This episode, titled so aptly in honour of a great Metallica song (and a fan-favourite music connection on the show), explores that very idea - of all that Sam has done for which he is unforgiven, despite assurances from Dean and Bobby that all might be forgotten. This is an episode so distinguished by its style and direction that I hate not focusing my recap solely on that, but I'll try to remember the actual storyline too - though, really, wow.
