Abi Phillips has called on Hollyoaks writers to give her character Liberty Savage a romantic plot. Phillips has seen her character engaged to Ethan Scott (Craig Vye) since joining the teen soap in 2010. However, since the pair split up after it emerged he had been secretly dating her best friend Theresa, Liberty has not been in any lasting relationship. Phillips told Heat that such a storyline could be unlikely due to the presence of her (more)...

Craig Vye has revealed that his "dream" acting role would be the lead in William Shakespeare's Hamlet. The former Hollyoaks actor explained that the role would be the "most challenging", and that it is a big "ambition" for him in the future. "A dream acting role, and the most challenging role for me, is Hamlet," he told Pa. "If I could get the chance to play Hamlet in a production, I think all my dreams would come true. That is definitely an ambition of mine at some point." Vye filmed his final scenes as policeman Ethan Scott for Hollyoaks last week, and added that he found his stint on the soap "fun". However, he said that he is now looking forward to doing more theatre work. "I started off joining a local youth theatre (more)...

Days of Our Lives
Thank God it’s over. That’s what I thought at the end of last Friday’s episode when the show finally brought the horrible website storyline to a close. And aside from the fact that it’s finished, there’s nothing positive to say about this plot, which was terrible from first scene to last. There were so many things wrong with this storyline, and they were exemplified by this week's episodes. Plot holes and poor characterization abounded. And the acting was painful to watch, with the bit players and the show’s regular performers equally bad. But most of all, there were two things about these episodes that were particularly disturbing.
Sonny and Austin got to play hero in this bad storyline…
One, how all the women stood around and looked helpless and waited for the men to rescue them.

Hollyoaks star Craig Vye has thanked the soap's bosses for an "amazing year" after bowing out as Ethan Scott. Last night, viewers saw Ethan's final scenes on the Channel 4 show as the guilt of his hit and run crime became too much to bear - prompting him to hand himself in. Writing on Twitter this morning, Vye commented: "In response to all your tweets, I'm afraid to say that Ethan has left Hollyoaks. I feel very sad, I love the show and everyone involved. "I wanna thank all at Lime Pictures and Hollyoaks for an amazing year. I will never forget my time on the show. It's the best job ever. "I believe there was a lot more to explore with Ethan and the door is always open in my mind, but it was just my time to move on. I wanna say a massive, massive thank you to all my followers and supporters,...

Hollyoaks actor Craig Vye recently had a chat to Digital Spy about his character Ethan Scott's hit and run storyline. For all the details on what happens when Ethan knocks down fresher Rob Edwards, head over to our main interview with Craig. Here, though, Soap Scoop presents some bonus snippets from Craig focusing on Ethan's other recent storylines and life at Hollyoaks. Did you enjoy Ethan's three-timing storyline with Theresa, Liberty and Rae earlier this year?
"Yeah, it was great fun to film! Working with all three of those girls was just brilliant. Jorgie is amazing and such fun to work with - I don't think a day goes by where we don't crack up as we're working on set together. We were sailing very close to the wind with that particular shoot, as so often during takes we would just absolutely burst out laughing! "The (more)...

Hollyoaks bosses have teamed up with the independent road safety charity Brake for a dramatic new storyline featuring police detective Ethan Scott and fresher Rob Edwards. Ethan, played by Craig Vye, makes a terrible error of judgement later this month when he texts former flames Theresa (Jorgie Porter) and Liberty (Abi Phillips) while driving. As he isn't keeping his eye on the road, Ethan accidentally runs over Rob (David Atkins) - leaving viewers to wonder if the show's newcomer will live or die.
Pictured: Ethan texts while driving. The new storyline will attempt to combat dangerous driving by highlighting the consequences of texting behind the wheel. The scenes will also help to launch Road Safety Week, which takes place from November 21 with the theme "Too young to die". Studies show that using a phone to text while (more)...

Neighbours
Well, I’m glad Chris saw sense and went back to work, though I still think Lucas had nothing to apologize for. Yes, he should be sorry that Chris got his feelings hurt and that the customer was a homophobe, but Lucas himself didn’t do anything wrong. At least Lucas had the good sense to say that while he was sorry, he couldn’t promise not to screw up again or that something else like what went down might happen again.
At the end of the day though, I still think Chris overreacted by quitting. I understand that the show is sending the message that bigotry shouldn’t be tolerated. Obviously, it shouldn’t. However, life is gray, not black and white, and the answers just aren’t always so simple. In the real world you can't leave a job every time someone says something you don't like.

Hollyoaks star Craig Vye has revealed that he is in physical competition with fellow male cast members. The 28-year-old, who plays lothario Ethan Scott in the teen soap, reserved special praise for the size of Rob Norbury (Riley Costello). "There's loads of competition! My gym buddies are Danny Mac (Dodger) and James Atherton (Will Savage), so we egg each other on," Vye told Inside Soap. "And Rob likes to flash his guns. I can't believe he's only 22 years old, as he's a big lad - I'm sure he's lying on his birth certificate! But he doesn't scare us, it's all just good banter." The actor, who has portrayed the detective (more)...

Hollyoaks star Rachel Shenton has revealed that her feisty character Mitzeee Minniver will be "terrified" when she hears the truth about Louise Summers's death in a forthcoming storyline. Mitzeee discovers that her boyfriend Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) killed Louise in episodes which air early next month. The drama begins when detective Ethan Scott (Craig Vye) asks Mitzeee to betray the village bad boy in return for granting the freedom of her mum Trish, who has been arrested for soliciting. In an interview with All About Soap, Shenton explained: "Ethan blackmails her into doing some digging about Louise Summers's murder in return for letting Trish out of prison. Mitzeee is very loyal to her mum and would do anything to help her. "She questions Warren, but it all goes wrong when he discovers that Mitzeee is recording their conversation. (more)...

Craig Vye has admitted that his Hollyoaks character Ethan Scott may not be able to keep Theresa McQueen's dark secret forever. Earlier this year, the detective learned that Theresa (Jorgie Porter) was Calvin Valentine's killer but had managed to cover up the crime, letting villain Kyle Ryder take the blame. Following some persuasion from Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas), Ethan eventually decided not to report the truth to his police colleagues and has continued to view Theresa as a possible love interest. Speaking to What's On TV about his character's surprise decision, Vye commented: "Theresa's confession did shock him, but when she nearly died after falling down the lift shaft, Ethan realised he had deep feelings for (more)...

I recently had a chat with Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter to hear about the hostage horror faced by her character Theresa McQueen in next week's episodes.
