The up-and-coming actress Daniela Melchior has taken her career leaping in the entertainment industry by scoring roles in two of the industry’s most dominating franchises, i.e., the DC Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Besides these, she also scored the role of Ellie, one of the main characters in the recently released Road House remake.

But if there’s one franchise she looks forward to returning to, that’s James Gunn’s Dcu. In fact, she even mentioned that she is most certainly “open” to reprising her iconic role from 2021’s critically-commended masterpiece, The Suicide Squad: That of Ratcatcher 2. However, that event seems inevitably unlikely because of one of Gunn’s decisions for the DC reboot.

David Ayer continues to be optimistic that his cut of 2016’s Suicide Squad will see the light of day.
The director said in a new interview that he’s “hopeful” that his version of the DC film will eventually materialize despite some powers preventing it from happening.
“I’m going to be hopeful. You know, there are a lot of people that are invested in certain narratives that don’t want it to see the light of day,” Ayer told Total Film in an interview. “So there’s an immense political headwind against it, because if that cut were made public, the cowardliness and the whole just general shittiness of how the film’s been treated, and how the actors have had this great work that they’d done taken away…”
He continued, “That narrative blows up once people see the movie. But it’s coming. Something’s going to happen.

David Ayer, the director of 2016’s Suicide Squad, is looking back at the DC film and opening up about one of his creative decision regrets.
Jared Leto portrayed supervillain Joker in the comic book-based movie and his version of the character had the word “damaged” tattooed across his forehead, an idea that Ayer proposed.
“I own the tattoo idea 100%. It was my choice,” Ayer shared on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Original idea is it would say ‘Blessed’ and not ‘Damaged.'”
He continued, “Now having said that — I regret that decision. It created acrimony and division. Not every idea is a good idea. And I’ll just be in the corner here while the internet slaps me around for this post.”

David Ayer is giving fans of 2016’s Suicide Squad that his cut of the film will eventually see the light of day.
The filmmaker has been open about disliking the final cut of the DC film that starred Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot and Viola Davis as Amanda Walker.
Ayer recently took to social media to reveal that DC co-head James Gunn told him his cut of the film “would have its time to be shared.”
“There’s a genuine curiosity and interest from a lot of people. And I’m aware of there is another group of people that have fun mocking the film,” Ayer posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Your comment is a perfect example of how many are magnetically drawn discussion to the 2016 film in a negative way. Nzfc CEO Annabelle Sheehan.
New Zealand Film Commission (Nzfc) CEO Annabelle Sheehan believes there are currently two global drivers of change in the screen industry.
The first is the rise of streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, AppleTV+ and Amazon – the latter of which has just confirmed it will shoot the series The Lord of the Rings in Nz.
The second is a push towards a more diverse and inclusive industry, both behind and in front of the camera.
It’s this second driver that the Nzfc’s upcoming global summit Power of Inclusion will seek to explore head on in partnership with Walt Disney Co. and Women in Film and Television (Wift) International.
The October event has already attracted an impressive array of both international and local speakers including actress and activist Geena Davis; Black-ish and Grown-ish star Yara Shahidi; director Niki Caro, Pose creator Steven Canals, The Black List...

Universal has released a unique first trailer for “Mortal Engines,” depicting a world of predator cities existing thousands of years after current civilization has been destroyed by a cataclysmic event.
“We have to stop London before it destroys us” is one of the lines in the FX-heavy footage, released Tuesday.
Peter Jackson is on board as a producer and screenwriter, re-teaming with “Hobbit” screenwriters with Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens in “Mortal Engines,” set in a steampunk world where entire cities have been mounted on wheels and prey on one another. It’s Jackson’s first feature project since the completion of the Hobbit trilogy in 2014.
Robert Sheehan stars as museum apprentice Tom Natsworthy from the city of London who finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive assassin Hester Shaw, played by Hera Hilmar, who’s out to avenge the death of her mother.
