Matt Wallin is an internationally recognized visual effects artist,
filmmaker, producer and Associate Professor of Communication Arts at
Virginia Commonwealth University.
For nearly a decade as a digital compositor at Industrial Light & Magic
, Matt created 2D and 3D visual effects for movies such as "Twister",
"The Mummy", "Star Wars: The Special Edition(s)" and "101 Dalmatians".
Matt has also worked directly for Warner Brothers, Tippett Studio, Weta
Digital and MPC on films including "King Kong", "Matrix: Revolutions",
"Hellboy", "Constantine" and "The Watchmen".
Wallin served as the Visual Effects Supervisor for American artist,
Matthew Barney's "Cremaster Cycle", "De Lama Lamina" and "Drawing
Restraint 9".
Matt is a full member of the Visual Effects Society (VES), the
Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and a guest host on the
international podcast, "The VFX Show", and a frequent contributor to
"The Visual Story" podcast. Both are available for free via iTunes.
Today he is lives with his family in Richmond, VA, working as a writer,
director, director of photography, visual effects supervisor and
educator.
