Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Bullwinkle Moose, and Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties were in fact conceived, designed, and created by Jay Ward's boyhood friend and sometimes business partner, advertising artist Alex Anderson.
Following his death, he was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California.

Received his undergraduate degree from the University of California-Berkeley (1941), and his Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University (1947).
He was posthumously awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Television at 7080 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California on June 21, 2000.
