Anton Webern was born on December 3, 1883 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary [now Austria]. He was a composer, known for The Exorcist (1973), Woman in Chains (1968) and Ruf an das Gewissen (1949). He was married to Wilhelmine Mörtl. He died on September 15, 1945 in Mittersill, Salzburg, Austria.
Webern's compositions are short and intensely concentrated. His Symphony (1927) lasts ten minutes, and his entire output (31 opuses) can be listened to in about four hours.
