Frank Wedekind was born on July 24, 1864 in Hanover, Kingdom of Hanover [now Lower Saxony, Germany]. He was a writer, known for Spring Awakening, Pandora's Box (1929) and Spring Awakening. He was married to Tilly Wedekind. He died on March 9, 1918 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
The musical adaptation of his play, "Spring Awakening" at the Griffin Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois was nominated for a 2012 Non-Equity Joseph Jefferson Award for Musical Production.
