- As an executive at 20th Century Fox, he saw an early screening of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) and liked the film so much that he told his family, "I want you to remember this day because I just had one of the greatest experiences in my life".
- Graduated from Oxford University in 1952 with a B.A. Honours degree in English literature.
- He began his career as an agent in the London office of MCA in the late 1950s. He eventually founded an agency with Richard Gregson, Gregson & Wigan, which was sold to EMI in 1970.
