“Shantaram” star Alexander Siddig is set to lead a supernatural series for Brazilian streaming service Globoplay.
“Fallen,” which has begun principal photography, will star Siddig alongside Sarah Niles (“Ted Lasso”), Jessica Alexander (“Get Even”), Gijs Blom (“The Letter for the King”) and Timothy Innes (“The Last Kingdom”).
Produced by Silver Reel and Night Train Media, and co-produced with Globoplay, “Fallen” (8 x 60′) follows the story of Luce, a young woman who is sent to a cult-like rehab facility called Sword & Cross to serve time for a crime she can’t remember committing.

A North Carolina handyman has pleaded guilty to murdering and dismembering a pregnant former Food Network Star contestant and her husband in 2015, People confirms.
On Thursday, 37-year-old Robert Jason Owens admitted in court to murdering Cristie Schoen Codd, her husband, J.T. Codd, and their unborn daughter, Skylar, in what authorities called “the most disturbing killings in history.”
Owens, who was in the middle of disposing of the bodies when he was arrested in 2015, pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree murder and two counts of dismembering remains, according to authorities.
He will spend 59 and a half to 74 and a half years in prison.

This year's Frightfest line-up was announced today, with My Father Die, the directorial debut of Sean Brosnan (son of Pierce Brosnan) as the opening gala, and Sang-ho Yeon's tale of the commuting dead Train To Busan to close it. Now sponsored by the Horror Channel (having ended its relationship with Film4), the festival will feature 19 world premières and showcase work from 16 different countries.
