The annual Eurovision Song Contest concluded its 61st edition in May 2016 by crowning Ukraine the champion (sorry, PewDiePie) of the 42 participating countries (and getting a lot of views on YouTube along the way). Bad Lashes singer Emily McNamee is returning to The X Factor as a solo act. Girl group Bad Lashes - McNamee, Sophie Wilson, Samantha Bennett and Stacey Lincoln - appeared on the 2008 series of the ITV1 talent show and reached the live stages alongside acts such as Alexandra Burke, Jls and Eoghan Quigg. X Factor winner Joe McElderry has been left stranded in Cyprus after a volcanic ash cloud forced British officials to close it’s airspace.
The majority of flights in and out of the UK have been cancelled since last Thursday and Joe, who jetted off to the Mediterranean island last weekend for a family holiday, has been trying to find a way home since his flight was cancelled on Saturday.
The disruption means that the 18 year old has been forced to postpone the recording of his debut album. He took to his Twitter page to say:
“Could be worse. I could be stuck somewhere with horrid weather, and I’m in an amazing place, so I should stop moaning!
“Still in the sunshine. Maybe I should just start to record the album here!”
