Woo hoo! Law & Order: Svu Season 18 Episode 10 marks the series' 400th episode.
Some shows would have celebrated this major milestone with a flashy episode that was more pomp and circumstance than story. I'm thrilled that Svu did not.
It had a talented guest cast, including soap alum Daniel Cosgrove, and what appeared to be a sensationalistic crime, but nothing was done just for ratings. There was also a compelling story that kept me on the edge of my seat until the credits rolled.
"Motherly Love" was a psychological thriller, plain and simple.
The major question before the detectives this week wasn't who raped who, but how far a woman with narcissistic tendencies would go to protect herself and what to do to make sure her teenage son didn't suffer any more than he already had.
Fin: She's a stone-cold liar.

In terms of television, David E. Kelley has had his greatest successes in the realm of legal drama (for example, Ally McBeal, The Practice, and Boston Legal), so it comes as no surprise to hear that Amazon Studios intend to forego their much celebrated public method of selecting new shows through a pilot voting period, and order ten episodes of Trial, right off the bat. The fact that the cast is led by Academy Award winners Billy Bob Thornton and William Hurt clearly factors into that decision, too.
The legal setting is not the only similarity between Trial and other David E Kelley television projects. It also features two aging male lawyers at odds with one another, surrounded by a bevy of younger, female characters – here played by Olivia Thirlby, Maria Bello, Molly Parker and Sarah Wynter.

In Hollywood, there’s always a battle for attention. The legends and icons are forced to fend off the pretty young things that pop up every year. But sometimes, a generation of starlets and studs are more than just pretty faces — they are the new Hollywood. They transform into talented, award-winning actors who take over both the big and small screen. They include the likes of Jonah Hill, Carey Mulligan, Emma Watson and Shailene Woodley, all of who have been featured in Vanity Fair’s Young Hollywood series.
While there have been a number of hits featured in the magazine of the years, there have also been a number of misses — Vinessa Shaw and Sarah Wynter anyone? Like them, we want to know where they are all now.

Just like us regular moms, actress Sarah Wynter wants the best for her three kids.
The "Californication" star is big on an eco-friendly lifestyle for her family.
Healthy Hollywood met up with the Aussie-born Wynter in New York City at the launch event for the new website, Veritey. It's a site that hopes to educate other aspiring eco-warriors on the best chemical-free, non-toxic products.

Bruce Beresford When I was going to do Driving Miss Daisy, I offered it to Don McAlpine, but he turned it down. And then I offered it to Russell Boyd but he was doing something else. And then I remembered Peter and I thought .Hang on, I like that bloke Peter James. and said .Do you want to come over here and shoot this low-budget film?. And he did. That was the first.
I did enjoy working with him but we never thought it was anything special. In fact, when we finished the film they were planning not to release it.
We had very similar ideas on lighting and he had tremendously good taste . his lighting was always exqusite. Also, the thing I liked about him (and for that matter Don McAlpine) was that he would vary his style to suit the subject matter,...

Everyday seems to bring another Californication season 6 casting announcement, and half of them seem to involve Lost. Today we have two of the latest, and of course one of them has been on the island. Let’s start with the one who hasn’t (we think). Marilyn Manson, whom I haven’t thought about since like the ’90s when strange people in my high school (and millions elsewhere) started listening to his music (though I can’t front on Evan Rachel Wood – nice one, brother), is set to appear next in the 7th episode of next season as himself.

After taking some time to start a family (which involved giving birth to three boys), 24’s Sarah Wynter is coming back to acting full time, with her first big role in Season 6 of Showtime’s Californication. Normally, in these casting situations, I would be chomping at the bit to talk about whom Wynter is playing, but in this instance there isn’t much to really say. Currently there’s more information surrounding who Wynter’s character is married to, so don’t act all shocked when I barely talk about her. You’ve been fairly warned, so what do you say we dive into this thing?

I absolutely adore 24 and as a die-hard fan I think it's a brilliant show. It not only revolutionized television with its real-time format, but has been consistently entertaining since day one. Kiefer Sutherland was already somewhat of a star when the series premiered, but he became a household name synonymous with his character Jack Bauer, a hard as nails government agent out to protect the innocent and seek justice at the cost of his own life. I'm just as sorry as any fan to see the show go after eight seasons, but I'm also relieved. 24 has grown more than a little tired over the years, with story-lines and plot devices that have become incredibly familiar. That's because much of what we see has occurred before and every story line, plot thread or turn of events feels directly copied from previous seasons. Jack and his colleagues not only find themselves in the same situations,...

"Cutthroat" centers on Nina Cabrera (Sanchez), an upscale Beverly Hills widow and soccer mom who runs an international drug cartel.
Wynter, repped by Paradigm and Mosaic, will play a Hollywood mom whose life is in shambles.

Welcome to your Thursday morning television briefing. Sarah Wynter (24) has joined the cast of FX's Damages in a recurring role on the series' third season, set to launch in early 2010. She joins the previously reported Reiko Aylesworth, Martin Short, Lily Tomlin, and Campbell Scott. Wynter will play a mysterious "'security specialist' helping a high-level assistant district attorney unravel" a financial scheme; Aylesworth will play the wife of Campbell Scott's character. [Editor: I've also just been informed that "Short's character is a high-powered attorney (family friend) who defends a prominent NY family accused of the financial scheme. Lily Tomlin plays the matriarch of the family."] (Hollywood Reporter) Life on Mars creators Ashley Pharoah and Matthew Graham have been commissioned by BBC Worldwide new drama czar Jane Tranter to write the script for an ABC drama pilot described as a "California cop show with a British twist." Should the project--executive produced by Julie Gardner--go to pilot, it would be produced by BBC Worldwide's Los Angeles production team and Pharoah and Gardner would remain heavily involved, unlike their limited creative involvement with the Us version of Life on Mars.
