Film: "Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke"; Cast: Dev Goel and Adaah Sharma; Director: Jyotin Goel; Rating: None
Shammi and Priyanka, played by newcomer Dev Goel and semi-newcomer Adaah Sharma, are chaddi-buddies. To prove it, he even flashes his chaddi in her face. Thankfully, he isn't wearing it when this occurs.
This is one of the many irreverent scenes showing the couple's comfort level that keeps recurring with discomforting frequency in the film with the potential to make us lough out aloud. Alas, the laughter is often waylaid.
The film comes from a banner that has given mainstream Hindi cinema such blockbusters in the past as 'Dus Lakh' and 'Ek Phool Do Maali'. Devendra Geol, who made these successful films is much respected..

Dev Goel, Sanjay Dutt and Adah Sharma on the sets of Pri And Me
Sanjay Dutt does a friendly appearance in Dev Goel’s Pri And Me as he is considered to be a lucky mascot by the director
Sanjay Dutt stars in Jyotin Goel’s (of Safari 1999 fame) upcoming romantic comedy Pri And Me. The film also stars Adah Sharma, Dev Goel, Juhi Chawla, Chunky Pandey to name a few. Dutt plays a police officer in the film and is considered to be a lucky mascot by director Goel. However, sources say that Sanjay Dutt plays a cameo in the film. This should be bad news to Adah Sharma (of 1920 2008 fame) who won’t be getting many chances to shoot with Dutt as she is a die hard fan of Dutt since her school days.
The film is produced under the banner Goel Screencraft and is slated for a release late this year.

Film: ‘Bird Idol’; Voiceover: Atul Kinagi, Shraddha Srivastava, Prroshant Narayanan, Saahil Chadha, Bhavana Balsaver; Director: Jyotin Goel; Animation and Design: Prasad Ajgaonkar; Rating: *** 1/2
Religion is so entrenched in the Indian psyche that even its entertainment industry began life with movies on gods. Animation films followed the trend with films on Lord Hanuman and Lord Krishna. The animation industry in India needed a sign, a moving away into the creative possibilities of animation. ‘Bird Idol’ provides just that. And thank ‘god’ for that.
‘Bird Idol’ is a very ingenious, imaginative and intelligent film. Unlike the usual trend with animation films.

Movie Review: Bird Idol; Rating: *** – Recommended for kids! Director: Jyotin Goel
At a time when big budget Bollywood films are coming one after another lacking a good solid plot, here comes a Desi animated flick with an engaging and entertaining story line that is bound to keep the small kids in and the kid in you in splits.
The plot of the film revolves around birds acting like human beings. Amongst the birds is a scary vulture, Dhamki, who is their chief minister and they have their own laws. They have one such law which prohibits marriage of two different breeds as the.

Juhi Chawla, Shaan, Kailash Kher and Neeraj Shridhar have sung under the baton of composers Sangeet Haldipur and Siddharth Haldipur for Jyotin Goel’s 3D animation, Bird Idol. Don’t get misled by the ‘3D’ tag, Goel warns, saying his Hindi film doesn’t demand viewing through Avatar glasses. “It’s just that the characters are three-dimensional and in the league of Shrek and Toy Story,” he points out. Borrowing a line from the master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock, “The more successful the villain, the more successful the picture”, Goel, along with his 25-year-old screenplay writer son, Dev, has designed ...

In a career spanning more than two decades, film maker Jyotin Goel has directed only three films - Inam Dus Hazar (1987), Zahreelay (1990) and Safari (1999). Incidentally, each of the three films has featured Sanjay Dutt in the lead. However, Jyotin Goel has now moved on and for his next film, he has chosen animation characters instead of opting for 'real' actors. The film is titled Bird Idol (an obvious inspiration from hugely popular 'Indian Idol') and tells the story of a bird which enters a namesake competition. Says Jyotin Goel, "We are aiming at the family audience as a whole for Bird Idol because animation films have a wide spectrum worldwide. I am sure this movie will not just be loved by children but also their family members. It is a heart warming beautiful story which will melt their hearts." Made in 3D animation, Bird Idol is presented by Warner Bros.

While animation movies are hugely popular Overseas, they have, with the exception of one or two movies, never really found their niche in the Indian market. But Hollywood giant Warner Bros. and veteran Jyotin Goel hope to bring animation movies in the spotlight with Bird Idol, their first collaboration. Coming from a background of working with big-name stars such as Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla, some might believe that Jyotin took a risk by entering an unproven medium in India. But Jyotin is quick to refute such claims. He believes that there is a huge, untapped market for animation movies in India, as seen by the success of foreign animation films that release here. Bird Idol, he promises, will prove to be a game-changer and will open up a new market for Indian films. Says Jyotin, "Bird Idol is a laugh-out-loud riot, combining international quality animation with pure, unadulterated comedy.
