U.S. District Judge Joan H. Lefkow ruled in November 2002 that his
organization World Church of the Creator violated the copyright of a
Christian organization in Oregon, the Church of the Creator by copying
their name. Matthew Hale sued Judge Lefkow because of her decision. On
January 8th, 2003 Hale was arrested and accused of conspiring to kill
Judge Lefkow. Lefkow then ruled on April 24th, 2003 that Hale's
organization had failed to stop using the name World Church of the
Creator and should be fined $1,000 a day until it complies.
