Stars: Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo, Vicki Pepperdine, Ramy Youssef, Jerrod Carmichael | Written by Tony McNamara | Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos
Ever since he made a splash with 2009’s Dogtooth, Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos has been considered an exciting voice in cinema, resulting in accolades and award nominations for his disturbing and absurdist works. That does not change for Poor Things, an adaptation of Alasdair Gray’s 1992 novel which sees Lanthimos and writer Tony McNamara on fire once more after their previous collaboration with 2018’s The Favourite.
After committing suicide, Bella (Emma Stone) is resurrected by the scarred and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe) – who Bella refers to as God. Initially naïve, Bella’s eagerness to learn more about the outside world clashes with Godwin’s desire to keep her safe. Bella rebels by running away with slick lawyer Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), as their continent-spanning journey leads...

The Disney layoffs have hit ABC News.
The broadcast news division has laid off approximately 50 people as part of the company’s planned cuts, with ABC News president Kim Godwin reorganizing her senior leadership team. Godwin announced the changes in a note to staff Thursday morning.
“Throughout the company, teams are being impacted by the downsizing that was announced several weeks ago, including our own ABC News family. While these actions are never easy, they are a necessary step to ensure we’re on solid footing for the years ahead as we chart a sustainable, growth-oriented path forward for the entire organization,” Godwin wrote. “While this is a difficult time for all of us — particularly those directly affected by these tough decisions — it’s important to remember that together, we are resilient, and will emerge from this period of transition stronger than before.”

Don’t expect to see Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes back on the air.
On Thursday, TMZ reported that the “GMA3” co-hosts have hired top lawyers if it comes to litigation and now, an insider inform Page Six that they may not be back on air. Robach and Holmes were taken off the air in the wake of their affair going public late last year.
“They have not been terminated yet, but I don’t expect T.J. to be on again,” an insider says. “They do want Amy to stay and be a part of things there, but likely not on ‘GMA3.’”

The Vikings: Vallhalla review is spoiler free
The first season of Vikings spin-off Vikings: Valhalla had a lot to recommend it, from its sprawling cast of major characters and nuanced exploration of the tension between politics and religion to its massive action setpieces and incredible production values. But after a first season that saw a Viking army literally bring down London Bridge, many viewers are probably wondering where on earth the second season of Valhalla could possibly go next. And the answer is: Literally everywhere.
The second season of Vikings: Valhalla is bigger and bolder in every sense of the word, from the scope of its setting and the breadth of stories it’s telling to the sheer number of characters onscreen. There are more storylines, more bloodshed, and even more physical countries than we’ve ever seen before, as the primary narrative fractures into several major arcs and each...

Vikings: Valhalla is a series created by Michael Hirst and Jeb Stuart starring Sam Corlett, Laura Berlin and Bradley Freegard among others.
Today we get to see the second season of Vikings: Valhalla, a series that has known how to collect all of the essence of the preceeding series and transform it into something that is even better and richer. It knows how to make good use of all the film achievements of Vkings, but recreating the impact of the violence and extracting to advantage its barbaric and devastating essence.
This is a prequel that combines history and action, which taken to the most spectacular, has known how to reach millions of viewers with this subtle combination that works so well for some and leaving the sticklers for history rather unsatisfied.
A good, really good second season that continues the rhythm and speeds it up delivering more with regards to the first season.

After sneaking around New York City amid a then-secretive romance, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes seem to be keeping their distance, now avoiding any chance of being spotted out together.
Since the “GMA3” co-anchors were taken off the air last Monday due to their romance scandal, they haven’t been seen or photographed together in over a week.
Sources close to the couple told the Daily Mail that Robach and Holmes appear to be doubting whether their relationship will be able to overcome the mess created by their workplace relationship, specifically the uncertainty surrounding their future at ABC.

Update: Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes remain off the air as the network conducts an internal review of the situation following the revelation of a romantic relationship between the two news figures.
ABC News President Kim Godwin confirmed in a memo the network was conducting an internal review as they remain off the air, according to a source. CNN first reported on the memo.
Last week, Godwin told staffers that the relationship between the two anchors had become an “internal and external distraction” in deciding to pull them off the air.
Godwin said on the staff call last week that “I want to say that while the relationship is not a violation of company policy, I really have taken the last few days to think about and work through what I think is best for the ABC News organization.”
But later in the week, Semafor reported that an internal review was being conducted.

The anchor team at ABC News’ “GMA3” remains in flux pending an ABC News review of conduct by regular hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, the top executive at the Disney news unit told staffers Monday.
“I understand that the continuing coverage can be distracting from the incredibly important work our team does here at ABC News,” said Kim Godwin, ABC News’ president, in a memo. “Amy and T.J. will be off air pending the completion of an internal review.”
The missive appears to be the first public confirmation by ABC News executives that the co-anchors’ romantic relationship — first revealed by the Daily Mail — had led to a probe within Disney. Indeed, Godwin had told News employees during an editorial call last week that Robach and Holmes had not violated any company policy, but indicated ABC News felt the matter had become “an internal and external disruption,” and took...

The new information comes the same week that multiple sources told Et that ABC is conducting a review to see if the pair violated any company policies, specifically the company’s morality clause.

Viewership of “GMA3: What You Need to Know” jumped by around 11 last week when chatter began swirling about an affair between anchors Amy Robach and Tj Holmes. But once Monday’s broadcast rolled around — sans Robach and Holmes, as ABC News decided to bench the pair — numbers held steady before falling back to their usual range.
Between Nov. 28 and Nov. 30, the 1 p.m. timeslot of the “Good Morning America” companion afternoon strip was averaging 1.63 million total viewers, according to Nielsen. That was before the Daily Mail reported, on the evening of Nov. 30, that Robach and Holmes were romantically linked. The report quickly went viral on social media with additional speculation about the pair’s relationship and their respective marriages circulating in the tabloids.

Two-thirds of “GMA3’s” anchors, T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach, remain sidelined several days after being benched over their extramarital relationship. The longer this goes on, the less likely it feels that the co-hosts and couple will return to the 1 p.m. ABC News program, which marries the powerful “Good Morning America” branding with descriptive subtitle “What You Need to Know.”

In an industry where many executives are quick to tout their own accomplishments, Peter Rice was known for turning down opportunities to take a public victory lap.
The soft-spoken British executive, who was ousted on Wednesday from the top TV job at Disney, has a reputation for quietly cultivating relationships with producers and directors such as Baz Luhrmann and Danny Boyle. In the 2000s, he leveraged those ties to boost the performance of Fox Searchlight Pictures with hits such as “Moulin Rouge!” and “Slumdog Millionaire.” More often than not, Rice let the directors, producers and actors take the bows.
That low-maintenance demeanor would serve Rice well in Murdoch’s empire as he became close to the family and rose in 2009 to oversee all of Fox’s entertainment networks. After the sale of 21st Century Fox to Disney in 2019, Rice took over the largest swath of Disney’s TV operations (everything...
