Spoilers for "Yellowjackets" follow.
The dual timelines of "Yellowjackets," set 25 years apart, show both how a high school girls' soccer team was stranded in the Canadian Wilderness and how they cope with that experience as adults. This structure means we already know the main cast's fate, at least to a point. In season 1, the presence of Shauna, Taissa, Natalie, Misty, and Travis in the 2021 timeline confirmed they got out of the wilderness alive. Two supporting characters in the 1996 timeline, Laura Lee and Jackie, didn't show up in the present. Sure enough, it's because they're dead.
However, season 1 ended with the reveal that Lottie Matthews (Courtney Eaton) was still alive, though she was never even mentioned in the 2021 timeline. Come season 2, she's now a regular in both timelines (played by Simone Kessell as an adult). The bigger surprise in season 2 is that Vanessa "Van" Palmer (Liv Hewson) survived too. She got...

The 1990s: the decade when teal squiggles and purple triangles reigned supreme. Or at least, that's what our collective memory has assigned to the period's romanticized style guide.
The '90s were formative for the medium of animation. On the silver screen, Disney animated musicals dominated the box office and awards seasons, while studios like Pixar and DreamWorks debuted their first feature films. On the small screen, the animation revolution continued in what we can now look back on as a unique convergence of passing generations. The Disney Afternoon programming block crested the wave of its success, oodles of beloved Nicktoons busted onto the scene, Cartoon Network launched, and some of today's longest-running animated series populated airwaves for the very first time.
Attempting to rank the best 90s cartoons is a nearly impossible task. Everyone has their favorites, whether we're talking about precious childhood shows or foundational barrier-breakers in adult animation.

Dexter Fletcher was advised to step in to direct 'Bohemian Rhapsody' so he knew what to avoid on 'Rocketman'.The 57-year-old filmmaker stepped in to helm the last few weeks on the Queen biopic after Bryan Singer was fired and though he had begun pre-production on the Sir Elton John movie, producer Matthew Vaughn could see the benefit of him working on both projects.Dexter - who was only credited as executive producer on 'Bohemian Rhapsody' because of DGA rules - told The Hollywood Reporter: "The truth was that I’d been involved with Bohemian Rhapsody a couple of years earlier when it was at Sony, with a different actor attached. I got a long way through the process, in fact, and I was pretty much in the first week of pre-production when it fell apart. "So I knew that material well, and I knew that Queen knew me,...

“Three serial killers walk into a bar” sounds like an intro to some silly joke, but if they happened to be the titular characters from Barry and Dexter and Joe (Penn Badgley) from You, chances are the scenario would result in a murder or two. Spoiler alert: The one or two that bite the dust won’t be either of the three killers; they may become friends, given how much they have in common. All three characters star in their own television shows in which they kill people without taking full responsibility for their actions. Barry thinks he’s a good person and hides behind how much he wants to be a better person (until the road to being a better person inconveniences him). Dexter blames his killings on his dark passenger and tries to make it right by only killing the bad guys (until his code inconveniences him). And...

Director Dexter Fletcher’s newest film, Ghosted, is a mismatched-couple rom-com simmering in a high-octane espionage potboiler. Cole, played by Chris Evans, is a stay-at-home, man-of-the earth kinda guy; Sadie, played by Ana de Armas, is an international traveler. He’s a little needy. She is a one-woman Independence Day fireworks display. He’s a farmer, who sells his crops at an open market, not convenience stores. She is a CIA assassin, who kills her marks in the open, behind cover, or whatever happens to be most convenient at any moment.
And Adrien Brody plays Leveque, the biggest inconvenience in their relationship.
Apple TV+’s new film is the third collaboration for de Armas and Evans, following Knives Out and Netflix’s The Gray Man. But that’s not what makes Brody the third wheel. His character Leveque has a thing for power and gets his jollies sprinkling fire ants on clumsy underlings.

Twitter has entered a whole new era.
After months of threats, on Thursday, the Elon Musk finally made good on his promise to remove the blue verification checkmarks from users who don’t pay for Twitter Blue.
Since taking over the company last year, the owner and CEO has allowed users to get a coveted blue checkmark by simply paying for the $8-per-month subscription service.
The blue checkmark began its life on Twitter as a method of verifying the identity of notable figures like celebrities and politicians, protecting them from impersonation. It eventually expanded to include journalists and others.
Last month, Twitter announced that starting April 1, blue checkmarks would be removed from accounts not subscribed to Twitter Blue. The date was then pushed back to April 20.

Dexter Fletcher wanted to "flip expectations" on 'Ghosted'.The 57-year-old director has helmed the new Apple TV+ movie that stars Ana de Armas and Chris Evans and wanted to move away from the norm in the plot for the romantic action-adventure film.Dexter told the Metro newspaper's 60 Seconds column: "My pitch for 'Ghosted' is: boy meets girl. He really gets into her, thinks she's kind of wonderful, mysterious and fantastic."So he follows her to the other side of the world, only to find himself embroiled in a crazy adventure where he's way out of his depth and she's his only means of survival. Does that sound good? "It's a movie that's all about flipping expectations and having fun. But I'll say you get to see Chris Evans being the damsel in distress for a change."Scarlett Johansson had been supposed to star in the film before having...

A few months back, I had the opportunity to see a movie called Ghosted. It was in preparation to speak to the film’s director, Dexter Fletcher. At the time, I wasn’t aware of anything about the film, aside from it featured Chris Evans and Ana de Armas. And I was also very familiar with Dexter, both as an actor and a filmmaker as well. Yet when I watched the film, it was nothing like I’d expected from the opening first few minutes. Ghosted ended up being a wild, funny, and romantic adventure. The genre-mashing feature is a delight, and I recommend going in knowing as little as possible.
Sitting down for an extended chat with Mr. Fletcher was quite entertaining. We started off chatting about an early performance for the actor in The Rachel Papers, and then jumped into action. The discussion went into casting this project,...
