Nickie Nicole
- Actor
Nickie, or rather Nicholas, went to study at the Fashion Academy in New York and when he was visiting friends in Paris in 1988, they suggested going to Amsterdam for a weekend. It was Nicholas' first introduction to the city and he was immediately impressed by the friendly people and the inspiring artists.
In 1992 Nicolas decided to move to Amsterdam to study at the fashion academy. He was soon discovered by Manfred Langer, the owner of the illustrious discotheque iT in the Amstelstraat. He left the academy and, as Nickie Nicole, soon became one of the best-known cross-dressing artists in the Amsterdam gay scene.
Nickie gained national fame by acting as jury chairwoman in the Travestie Show presented by Robert ten Brink, which was broadcast on prime-time by Veronica from spring 1995 to 1997.
