- Steve Lem was born in 1959 as the son of Jutta and Prof. Dr. Dieter Lemhoefer in West-Berlin, Germany. Steve studied German philology, philosophy, politics, and education at the Free University of Berlin. In addition, he was guest student of theatre science at the Free University of Berlin and guest student in musicology at Mainz University, Germany. After his state examinations in 1984 he quickly started his career in large German theatres. Steve worked with several German State and City Theatres as dramaturge, member of the Board of Directors, member of the Federal Committee of Examiners for private acting schools, and as a director for a total of five years. Following his theatrical stint, Steve Lem delved into filmmaking. He wrote, directed and produced two German feature-length motion pictures that played to German critical acclaim. Steve is managing director of Dream Factory Europe. His production company specializes in development, packaging and production of groundbreaking, character-oriented, international feature films. Dream Factory Europe's unique approach involves combining European cinematic sensibilities with Hollywood filmmaking.
