C.J. Snare, the lead singer of the glam metal band FireHouse, died Friday (April 5th) at the age of 64 after a long battle with colon cancer. His daughter Heather told TMZ that the vocalist’s official cause of death was cardiac arrest.
Snare was the singer of FireHouse from their late ’80s formation until the present day, although he had stepped away from the band to undergo stomach surgery this past summer. American Idol contestant Nate Peck had been filling in on vocals, but Snare was expected to rejoin the band this summer.
Firehouse posted the following on Facebook:
“Today is a sad day for Rock N Roll. It is with great sorrow we are letting the world know we have lost our brother: Cj Snare, the rock and roll warrior, lead vocalist, and a founding member of FireHouse. Cj snare passed unexpectedly at home Friday night, April 5, 2024. He was a young 64 years old.

The Who have been playing shows with orchestral musicians for the past three and a half years, and every single night has wrapped up with “Baba O’Riley.” But Friday evening at the Ubs Arena in Elmont, Long Island, they stunned their fans by remaining on the stage and ripping into “Young Man’s Blues” as an extra encore. They hadn’t played the song since a one-off in 2014, and have only done it six other times in the past 40 years.

Rock of Ages has extended its off-Broadway run 14 weeks (through January 14, 2020), meaning hair metal fans can now sit back and take tequila shots in their Harley Davidson T-shirts in New York City for a little longer. Held at the Theater District’s New World Stages, the production is celebrating 10 years since the musical first debuted on Broadway in April 2009. It would run for six years, making it one of the top 30 longest-running shows of all time.

(Warning: Spoilers ahead for Thursday’s episode of “Beat Shazam”) Shazam has been beaten. Christine Porcelli and Steve Lester became the first team to win the coveted million-dollar prize during Thursday’s episode of the Fox game show “Beat Shazam.” Host Jamie Foxx rewarded the Nashville-based couple after Porcelli correctly identified the Tears for Fears hit “Shout.” “It still hasn’t sunk in,” Lester told TheWrap about the seven-figure windfall. “We’re very blessed.” Also Read: Jamie Foxx Shuns Players Over 'Friends'-Theme Fail on 'Beat Shazam' (Exclusive Video) Not every moment went smoothly for the couple, as Lester...

“The Walking Dead” star Lauren Cohan gave viewers some serious ’80s throwback in a preview of the new episode of “Lip Sync Battle.” Cohan got onstage and jammed out to the classic “Sister Christian” by Night Ranger. Fans may remember it better due to the hard rock chorus, “Motorin’!” Cohan has her work cut out for her though, as she will be facing off against her “Walking Dead” co-star Sonequa Martin-Green. In March, Jensen Ackles stopped by Supernatural's 2015 VegasCo, where he sang Night Ranger's "Sister Christian" and The Eagles' "Seven Bridges Road." Now, it's pretty widely known that Jensen is superhot and that he makes some pretty epic faces, but this performance might just catch some people by surprise. Of course, hardcore fans of the show probably already know that Jensen has a stellar set of pipes - he even belts it out as demon Dean on the show - but even those who do know Jensen can sing will be impressed by this epic performance. Watch it above, and prepare for a few heart flutters. How much sex is actually in Fifty Shades of Grey? A recent Washington Post article placed the actual runtime of "actual sex and sexual-related activity" at 14 minutes and 17 seconds out of the movie's 125-minute runtime. Fun trivia fact. But it also led us to the question, "How does that fit in with the pantheon of sexy movies?" That is to say, of all the movies that are ostensibly sex-focused in the history of films (and sex), how many of them actually devote large portions of their runtime to Nsfw moments? "Parks and Recreation" just wrapped up its sixth season. I did my annual interview with Mike Schur about what happened, and I have a review of the finale coming up just as soon as I click through a slideshow of "American Music Awards" sideboob fails... The natural inclination with an episode like "Moving Up" is to talk early, often, and perhaps only, about the very last minute, where the show jumped forward three years in time, showing us a well-established National Parks office in Pawnee, Leslie and Ben's triplets as adorable little kids, Garry Gergich now being referred to as Terry, and surprise guest star Jon Hamm as an incompetent National Parks employee being fired after three years of misadventures that we will likely never see. And we'll get to that, sure. But there was so much else to "Moving Up," which essentially played as Schur and company bringing the...

For the second coming of Jason Reitman’s (Labor Day) now infamous Live Read program to the Toronto International Film Festival, the young auteur has yet again assembled an all-star cast to tackle one of his (and everyone else’s) all-time favorite films. Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights premiered at Tiff in the now defunct Uptown Theatre in 1997, the ensuing commotion causing an unpredicted street shutdown.
Reitman himself – his father in supportive attendance – excitedly introduced the event, declaring these reads even more fun than making actual films and announcing he and the cast would be working from a version of the original shooting script that would include select deleted scenes and alternate lines. Then our actors were introduced.
Dane Cook appeared to be at least the second-biggest fan on stage, enthusiastically delivering a spot-on Luis Guzman impression as Maurice Rodriguez, ideally timing Reed Rothchild’s lines – a scant helping...

Chicago – How can the same man who made one of the most lovable movie musicals of the last decade go on to make one of the most hatable? Adam Shankman’s bouncy, broad approach was a splendid fit for the playful “Hairspray,” but it is all wrong for Chris D’Arienzo’s raunchy, melodramatic ode to ’80s rock. His show, “Rock of Ages,” may have been a hit on Broadway, but it was a complete flop with moviegoers and critics alike.
Hopefully studios will soon learn that the name Tom Cruise can no longer sell a movie all by itself. “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” was a huge hit for many reasons: it was flawlessly directed, it had a killer ensemble and it debuted on IMAX screens while preceded by the first few minutes of “The Dark Knight Rises.” If that isn’t a predetermined, prefabricated studio hit, I don’t know what is.

When we first saw Rock of Ages, we called it “mix tape tribute” to an age of rebellion, outlandish outfits and over indulgence. The movie’s gags mocked the laughable qualities of the 80s, while respecting the songs that made the decade memorable. Outside of a surprising and intimate scene between Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin, the humor lagged into monotony. This film was all about remixing rock history. The Rock of Ages Extended Edition Blu-ray brings the litany of boob and crotch jokes home with several bonus features – most of which are more interesting to watch than the movie’s story.
In Rock of Ages, Sherrie Christian (Julianne Hough) moves to Los Angeles with hopes of becoming a singer. Alec Baldwin as club owner Dennis Dupree quickly dashes her hopes, but gives her a job at his club – the last bastion of Rock on the Sunset Blvd strip. Soon...

Oh, the ’80s. If you lived through it, it was probably the best time of your life — whether that was true or not. Let’s face it, we all look back at our “coming of age” decade with what I like to call wistful thinking. Things were always better “back then” than they are now. That goes for the music. Which, I suspect, is why the Broadway play version of “Rock of Ages” is so popular, resulting in this star-studded A-list movie production, which now rocks out on DVD and Blu-ray October 9th courtesy of Warner Home Video. “Rock of Ages” tells the story of small town girl Sherrie and city boy Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams. Their rock ‘n’ roll romance is told through the heart-pounding hits of Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Night Ranger, Reo Speedwagon, Pat Benatar,...

With perhaps the unlikeliest final four in Bachelor Pad history, host Chris Harrison called tonight’s finale ”one of the wildest, craziest, most dramatic and devastatingly stunning shows you have ever seen.” Between unexpected romantic pairings (and triangles… and quadrangles), game-changing eliminations, and some truly ear-shattering karaoke, the path to tonight’s episode has been anything but smooth. Below, Harrison reveals why he found this season “scary” but now thinks it may be the best to date. After Kalon and Lindzi leave "Bachelor Pad," Chris pats himself and the rest of the group on the back for being so special and privileged and something or other. He does have a point -- surviving a "Bachelor" show and then surviving "Bachelor Pad" without contracting herpes or developing a raging drinking problem is quite the achievement. So he obviously was not talking to Ed.
The Challenge
Harrison drops the bomb that one couple goes home immediately after this challenge, but he doesn't say it's the losers. He just says the winners have a lot of power, so clearly the winners get to send any couple packing that they choose.
The challenge is "Hanging by a Thread" and involves each couple putting one half on a seat suspended above the pool. The other half answers trivia questions about "Bachelor" shows. Three wrong answers will send the seat plummeting away, then...

Ah the '80s. It was a time when grown adults wore skin-tight acid washed jeans, shredded at the knee. We sprayed at least half a can of Aqua Net on our permed bangs to reach maximum height for head banging. The gloves were both fingerless and lace while the t-shirts were dayglow. Mike Fleiss spent roughly 90 minutes of last night's episode paying homage to the greatest decade ever. Sadly, other than Blakeley, the remaining contestants weren't even alive during the '80s to truly appreciate the moment. But that didn't stop them from attempting to be totally awesome to the max. Too bad they all gagged me with a spoon instead. Welcome to week seven of "Bachelor Pad!"

We're down to our final four couples on Bachelor Pad after we were deprived last week of Lindzi and villainy douche-turned-loverboy Kalon. It's amazing how unlikable and awful the guy was on The Bachelorette compared with how awesome he was on this show. I guess his lying tendencies were much better suited to a competition for money instead of love. The ironic part is that he didn't win any money, but he found love! Ahhh the joys of reality television.
This episode promises a sexy pool dangle (my guess is that's an Ed specialty), a quick elimination (they show us three couples preparing for the second challenge, so it's pretty easy to figure out who gets kicked off first -- Thanks ABC!), a singing competition for people who can't sing and holy hell, Night Ranger! Talk about a random band to make a reality show appearance. Let's get to it!

Directed by Louis C.K.

After a few especially sober, dry outings, Louie dips back into ouright comedic territory with “Berney/Never,” a bipartite episode with a pretty clear theme: shitty people, and the people who love and hate them unconditionally.
In the first part, Robin Williams guests as Robin (no relation), the only other mourner besides Louie at the burial of Barney, a shared acquaintance. After exchanging a few pleasantries, they’re relieved to discover they both absolutely hated the guy, a funny-voiced thief and cad who seemingly never did a good turn for anyone. Their morbid curiosity leads them to a strip club he frequented, and when they arrive there to announce Barney’s passing, the strippers and the rest of the staff break down in a mass orgy of tears set to Night Ranger’s “Sister Christian.

I thought I had put down the demon in my head, but alas, it resurfaces. I lay in bed, sweating and softly singing, “More thaaan worrrrdssss,” or perhaps I’m showering when quite unexpectedly I belt out, “You’re motorin’!” Just when I had steered clear of my late 80s/very early 90s miasma, the likes of Extreme, Night Ranger, Foreigner, and Poison rear their ugly heads once again, this time with Tom Cruise as a drunk, aging, rock star, overlapping my already horrible dreams of hair bands and classic wienie rock.

"Rock of Ages" will make you want to raise your arms...and then immediately plunge your fingers into your eyeballs for salvation (you can go back for seconds to rescue your ears). "Hairspray" helmer Adam Shankman directs this movie that will finally kill the '80s nostalgia that continues to plague us if we're lucky and will further root karaoke performances and bar jukeboxes in that hairspray-choked decade if we're not. We've had a sub-par version of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin' " stuck in our head since we saw it, and we wouldn't wish this fate on anyone, except perhaps the development heads at Warner Bros. As much as everyone keeps trying to make Julianne Hough a star, Steve Perry she is not (though admittedly she is cuter).
Based on the hit Broadway musical, "Rock of Ages" follows small-town girl Sherrie Christian (Hough) as she leaves Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the bright lights of the Sunset Strip.

The Broadway show .Rock of Ages. by Chris D.Arienzo was critically and commercially well-received garnering five 2009 Tony Award nominations including Best Musical. Using popular arena rock and power ballads of the 80s, .Rock of Ages. simply rocked. The new movie adaptation follows the formula of the stage show. The result is an all-out music extravaganza that will rock you like a hurricane.
Like the musical, the characters of the movie are clichéd and the plot is formulaic. But the cast is great, the music is superb, and director Adam Shankman wants to give you nothing but a good time. And at its center is the scene-stealing Tom Cruise as the rock god, Stacee Jaxx. He alone is worth the price of admission.
The time is 1987, a hard-partying era when the hair is big and the costumes are small. The film tells the story of two young lovers, Drew Boiley...

“Rock of Ages” is apparently about a bunch of people living in the ’80s wallowing in hit ’80s music. Dig the Aqua Net hair, man. So basically, if you’re under 20, you’re probably not very interested in seeing this one. Your mom and dad (or perhaps uncles and aunts) might be, though. To each his own. The studio has released a new back of images for the musical. Please to enjoy. “Rock of Ages” tells the story of small town girl Sherrie and city boy Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams. When it comes to re-recording classic hits, music producer Adam Anders has all but turned it into a science. As Glee’s in-house maestro of sound (along with partner Peer Åström), Anders is tasked with reimagining songs by the likes of uber-cool artists Florence and the Machine, Fun. and Gotye, but his latest project finds him firmly in hair metal territory. Whitesnake, Night Ranger, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi are just some of the artists featured on the Rock of Ages soundtrack, their songs performed by the movie’s stars including Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin, Malin Ackerman, Catherine

The complete tracklist to the cinematic take on '80s rock musical "Rock of Ages" is out, and there's a lotta love for Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta and others. Julianne Hough and Boneta -- as Sherrie and Drew, respectively -- show up on a massive medley of Night Ranger's "Sister Christian," David Lee Roth's "Just Like Paradise" and Poison's "Nothin' But A Good Time" along with Russell Brand and...
