WandaVision got the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Disney+ era off to a strong start and it’s not hard to see why. The series featured a compelling love story between a witch and an android, satisfying callbacks to classic sitcoms, and most importantly: Kathryn Hahn.
Hahn is a charismatic performer who tends to elevate just about anything she pops up in. That’s why it was no surprise that her mild-mannered next door neighbor Agnes was revealed to be none other than Agatha Harkness – powerful witch and the architect of all of Wanda’s suffering. Following the success of WandaVision, Marvel quickly announced a spinoff starring Hahn as Agatha. Now if they could only figure out what to call the darn thing …

This article contains major spoilers for Marvel’s new Punisher series.
Jason Aaron has written just about every corner of the Marvel Universe. His seven year run on Thor is critically beloved and the foundation of Thor: Love and Thunder. He’s been the architect of the Avengers for 50+ issues now, and put in a brief bright spot on Wolverine and the X-Men in one of the mutants’ darkest publishing times. He’s even got a stint on a Max line Punisher book under his belt. But he really wanted to play with Frank Castle in the main Marvel Universe.
“I’d never really written Frank in a big way in the Marvel U until I did War of the Realms and threw Frank into that,” Aaron tells us in an interview about his new book Punisher, with Jesus Saiz, Paul Azaceta, and Dave Stewart. “I had a lot of...

Photo: ‘Invincible’/Amazon Prime Inseparable creative partners Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, originally known for co-writing (and later co-directing) comedy films like ‘Superbad’, ‘Pineapple Express’, and ‘This Is the End’, have been active in recent years as executive producers for adult-oriented graphic novel adaptations. First, they produced and developed AMC’s ‘Preacher’, based on the comic created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon--then, they produced Prime Video’s ‘The Boys’, developed by Eric Kripke and based on the comic again written by Garth Ennis and co-created by Darick Robertson. Their latest is Prime Video’s ‘Invincible’, an adult animation series based on the Image superhero created by artist Cory Walker and writer Robert Kirkman, the latter of whom also co-created ‘The Walking Dead’. Spoiler Warning: This article reveals major plot points for tonight’s series finale of Preacher on AMC.
Preacher, on paper, seemed like a television pitch that didn’t have a prayer. The fact that Sunday night marked the end of the fourth and final season of the AMC series from executive producers Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad) and Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg would qualify as a miracle if the show’s brimstone scent and penchant for the profane didn’t disqualify it from general competition.
For four seasons, the show followed the wild-eyed quest of Dominic Cooper’s Jesse Custer, the West Texas preacher with a grim job history. His entire flock in West Texas was flattened and killed when he became possessed by a supernatural entity (who turned out to be the offspring of an unnatural coupling...

Preacher Season 4 Episode 10
Preacher has taken some serious diversions from the comic series over the run of the program, but one thing that hasn't been abandoned by Sam Catlin and company is the anarchic spirit that powered the original Garth Ennis/Steve Dillon series.
Preacher hasn't been a straight adaptation of the comic book ever, and at certain points changes were made that didn't work as intended, but for the most part, Preacher never stopped feeling like Preacher, and while that attitude has carried the show far, the comic makes a few sneaky returns in the finale episode.
It's strange that in a show with a clear-cut villain, said villain escapes the bulk of judgment by the end of the series.

Preacher Season 4 Episode 1
AMC’s Preacher has always struck me as a bit of an underdog, a show with something to prove. Part of this may stem from the source material itself, a Vertigo comic by Garth Ennis and the late Steve Dillon that, over the last two decades, has garnered a cult following. Kudos to Sam Catlin, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg for figuring out how to adapt a property that doesn’t easily lend itself to the small screen. And yet here we are, staring down Preacher’s fourth and final season.
And judging from the premiere, Jesse (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga), and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) are in for plenty of gleeful, blood-drenched mayhem. The road to Hell may be paved with good intentions,...

The hit show Preacher will return tonight with its fourth and final season. The show debut on May 22, 2016. The show is based off a comic book by the same name by creators Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. Preacher was developed for television by Evan Goldberg, Sam Catlin, and Seth Rogen. Jesse Custer ( Dominic Cooper) is a hard-drinking chain-smoking preacher who, endures a crisis of faith. Jesse becomes infused with an extraordinary power. He embarks on a quest to better understand his new gift and literally finds God, alongside his trigger-happy ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and a new vampire friend, Cassidy( played by Joseph Gilgun) Seth Rogen and the people involved behind the scenes knew Preacher would have a four- season run well in advance. The network made sure they all knewthis would be the final season. Seth Rogen threw out a dig at Got and how their lackluster season ended.

Superheroes — they’re so like us! We kid. Mere mortals can’t stop bullets and leap buildings in a single bound, or use our vast wealth to construct secret lairs and Batmobiles, or command the denizens of the seven seas, or run faster than the speed of light. But let’s say they were as petty and horrible as us. What if the Justice League’s headquarters was filled with as much with toxic masculinity and sexual harassment as your average workplace? Sorry, Preacher fans, but your prayers have not been answered: The action-packed AMC drama will end after its upcoming fourth season, which will debut on Sunday, Aug. 4.
Based on the Garth Ennis/Steve Dillon comic book, Preacher starred Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, a laconic preacher in rural Texas who finds himself possessed by a supernatural force and locked in an epic battle of good versus evil. (That battle involves lots of high-octane, kick-ass fight scenes, by the way.) Oscar nominee Ruth Negga co-starred as Jesse’s gun-toting girlfriend Tulip, with Joseph Gilgun playing Irish vampire Cassidy.

We'll have to wait and see if Preacher is renewed for a fourth season by AMC, but in the meantime, you can take a look back at the third season in the new videos below.

If you're a fan of AMC's insane series Preacher, you're gonna love this trailer for the upcoming second half of the third season! The trailer debuted at Comic-Con and now it's been released online for all of you to enjoy the wonderful insanity.
The new trailer offers us our first look at Allfather D’Aronique, the leader of the Grail, and Eccarius, a 350-year-old vampire who is looking to show Cassidy just how fun life can be after death, Hitler working in a diner, and plenty of great dialogue from your favorite characters. It's just a reminder of how much I love this series because of how bat-shit crazy it is!
At the Preacher Sdcc panel, executive producer Seth Rogan was asked about Allfather, and things sound like there's going to get pretty bizarre and disgusting with the character:

Already one of the most relentlessly entertaining and uncompromisingly ambitious shows on television, AMC's Preacher returns tonight at 10:00pm Est with one of its most unsettling story arcs yet: Angelville. As readers of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's cult comic book series know, a visit to Angelville is akin to hell on Earth for Jesse Custer, leaving the door wide open for some of the show's most twisted storytelling in the third season. To give readers an inside look at what to expect in season 3, Daily Dead recently joined a group of journalists on an interview call with Preacher executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and we've collected some of the most memorable highlights from the insightful, candid discussion:
On their favorite part of adapting the Angelville story from Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's beloved comic book series:

Take a look at new footage, plus images from "Preacher", Season 3, adapting the Vertigo comic book title created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, premiering June 24, 2018 on AMC:
"...'Jesse Custer' (Dominic Cooper) is a hard-drinking, chain-smoking preacher who, enduring a crisis of faith, becomes infused with an extraordinary power. He embarks on a quest to better understand his new gift, alongside his trigger-happy ex-girlfriend, 'Tulip' (Ruth Negga) and 'vampire' friend 'Cassidy'.
"In Season 3, The new season will see Custer headed to 'Angelville', his childhood home and the setting for some of his most traumatic memories, in order to resurrect 'Tulip', who was killed by 'Featherstone' (Julie Ann Emery). But in order to bring her back to life, Custer will need help from his sinister 'Gran'ma' (Betty Buckley), whose aid comes with a hefty price tag..."

You didn’t need to look far to find escapism in the horror genre this past year. If you felt like losing yourself in a movie, Pennywise was waiting with open arms in the sewer drain. If you wanted to feel like a kid again, Mike and his friends were waiting for you on Netflix, their bikes parked at the Hawkins arcade when they're not fending off the Demidogs. Looking back on 2017, here are some of my favorite slices of escapism oases in the horror genre:
Stranger Things Season 2: Whether you look at it from a character, creature, or story standpoint, Stranger Things Season 2 was the Aliens to the first season’s Alien. Despite having a bigger story, The Duffer Brothers never lose sight of the characters, further exploring the tested friendships of Mike’s group (if you can even call it Mike’s group anymore, since Dustin, Lucas,...

The Punisher was arguably the most well-written Marvel-Netflix show produced so far, and that – combined with the company’s will to recommission shows regardless of reaction or performance – suggests that a second series of The Punisher isn’t so much a matter of if, but when.
But with Frank’s story so well wrapped up, where might it go?
A sequel season
Any second season of The Punisher would have to resolve some fairly large narrative problems, not least how to get Frank Castle – who has now satisfactorily avenged the death of his family twice – back into the saddle without it being a retread of previous ground. The comics version of the...

AMC may be busy tending to its apocalyptic flagship (read: The Walking Dead), but the network has officially gone ahead and ordered a third season of Preacher, the gleefully gory adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s jet-black comic book series.
Word comes by way of Seth Rogen, the show’s executive producer and co-creator, who took to Twitter to announce a vague 2018 release window for the 13-episode third season. That confirmation came hand-in-hand with a new piece of artwork featuring Dominic Cooper as the pastor-turned-criminal Jesse Custer, Ruth Negga as the outlaw Tulip, and Joseph Gilgun as the chain-smoking Irish vampire, Cassidy.
No other details were made available at this early stage, other than a potential January 2018 start date. Last we checked in on AMC’s crew, they had left their West Texas town in search of God – whereabouts unknown – all the while creating some distance between them...

Black clothes. White skull. Smoking guns. These are the gloriously simple ingredients behind the Punisher, the no-holds-barred antihero who'll soon be starring in one of the fall's most anticipated series. But like every major superhero, he's taken a long strange trip from his comic-book origins to his modern-day multimedia superstardom. Below, you'll find...

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)

Of the characters on Preacher, there's only one that's essentially a truly good person. Cassidy is selfish, Jesse is violent and temperamental, Tulip is involved in some serious criminal activities... the only character that's a good guy, pitiable in his way, is Eugene. He's so positive and so upbeat, he always seems to be trying to make others feel better—whether we're talking about his father or Jesse—and every little bit of his background that we see only makes him all the more pitiable. In TV tropes terms, he's a woobie. Every nice thing he tries to do only ends up getting him hurt, and it all goes back to his very origin.
