The mastermind behind the iconic MCU show X-Men ’97, Beau DeMayo recently shared his top 10 plot ideas for the series. Following the conclusion of season 1, as the show awaits its next installment, DeMayo posted an image via his X account that took a hilarious dig at the X-Men comics and its treatment towards one particular mutant.

While his list teased plots for Charles Xavier, Wolverine, and even Storm, Beau DeMayo’s ideas were majorly focused on Scott Summers aka Cyclops. DeMayo’s list almost came as a sarcastic blow, that hinted at how X-Men comics turned Cyclops’ devastating fate into a compelling storyline, while never actually focusing on the character’s development.

Bad Bunny’s Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana dethroned Drake and For All The Dogs to debut atop the Billboard 200 Albums chart, the publication announced on Sunday, marking the rapper’s third consecutive album to debut atop the chart in an impressive run for one of music’s biggest global superstars.
Nadie opened with 184,000 equivalent album units, driven mostly by its 239.56 million streams, though the digital-only LP also managed to sell about 7,500 copies. The feat comes just a day after the reggaeton star hosted and performed on...

It comes as no surprise that Drake‘s new album “For All the Dogs” debuted at number-one on the Billboard 200. It’s his 13th number-one album on the chart, which places him third on the list of the most chart-toppers ever, behind only The Beatles (19) and Jay-Z (14). Taylor Swift is close behind with 12, but she’s likely to tie Drake again when she releases her re-recorded “1989” later this month. Read more about this week’s chart here at Billboard.com.
Despite mixed reviews, “For All the Dogs” achieved 402,000 equivalent album units based on its combined record sales, individual track sales and online streams. But really, it was almost all streaming that did it. 391,000 units came from streaming, which equates to 514.01 million streams of the album’s 23 tracks. This week’s Billboard 200 albums chart was decided by one of the narrowest margins of the year. Only 500 equivalent album units separated number-one from number-two based on the combination of album sales, individual track sales and online streams. Read all about this week’s chart here at Billboard.com.
Rod Wave‘s “Nostalgia” stayed at the top of the list with 88,000 units, making this his first album to spend multiple weeks at number-one. It’s the lowest number of units for a number-one album since Sza‘s “Sos” led with 87,000 units on March 4. But it was just enough to hold off Olivia Rodrigo‘s “Guts,” which achieved 87,500 units. Morgan Wallen‘s former 15-week chart-topper “One Thing at a Time” came in third with 73,000 units.

Taylor Swift enjoyed another strong week on the Billboard 200 albums chart. For the tracking week that ended November 24, “Midnights” held on to the top spot, tacking on another 177,000 equivalent album units to its total based on its combined record sales, individual track sales, and online streams. Read more about this week’s chart here at Billboard.com.
Swift’s total was driven mostly by streaming, with album sales comprising 57,000 and track units accounting for 2,000. Mega K-pop girls supergroup Blackpink has made history as it has landed its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with its second full-length studio album ‘Born Pink’.

Rapper Bad Bunny’s album ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’ has clinched another non-consecutive week at number one, its 11th time at the top spot out of 19 weeks since its release.

It was a beautiful week for rapper Rod Wave, whose “Beautiful Mind” debuted at number-one on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the tracking week that ended August 18. Rod Wave is an unabashed romantic, deploying a voice that blends airy pop melodies, emo yelps and guttural country rap idioms. On his fourth album, Beautiful Mind, the 22-year-old St. Petersburg, Florida vocalist gushes about love in a way that seems unusual for someone so closely identified with rap. “I don’t wanna be alone…don’t leave me alone,” he pleads anxiously on “Leave Me Alone.” He’s a complicated man, teetering between career ambition, melancholy introspection, macho aggression, and heartbroken sensitivity. And while he carefully avoids suicidal ideation,...

Over four years after signing with Atlantic Records and releasing his self-described debut album, Until Death Call My Name, Youngboy Never Broke Again remains an enigma. Lorde released her new album “Solar Power” on August 20, but she didn’t end up on top of the Billboard 200 albums chart for the tracking week of August 20 through August 26. Instead, the top spot went to Olivia Rodrigo, who reached the pinnacle for the fifth nonconsecutive week with her debut collection “Sour.”

That gave the album a 133% boost to 133,000 equivalent album units, which are calculated by combining traditional album sales, individual track sales, and online streams. NBA star Kawhi Leonard has released a new video game to accompany Gunna and Polo G’s track “Waves,” which will appear on Leonard’s upcoming Culture Jam project.
The Waves game, which was designed by Krool Toys, is modeled after shootout/hoops arcade games, with the player trying to flick the ball into a moving hoop and score as many points as possible before time runs out. The last few months have been great for hip-hop. With multiple high-profile releases — some acclaimed, some commercially successful, and some both — and myriad buzzy new artists making big splashes in the genre, what should we expect in the rap field this year at the Grammys? Let’s consider some of the biggest contenders so far as well as a few possible hidden gems.
You can’t start a Grammys rap piece without mentioning one of the biggest hip-hop moments of the last 10 years: Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wap.” The song is likely the front-runner for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. Add to that the overwhelming love Megan Thee Stallion just got in 2021, and how it’s still the biggest hit among eligible contenders, and you have a recipe for Grammys.
That said, “Wap” is a little old — it was eligible for the 2021 Grammys, but they...

After much anticipation, Atlanta rapper Lil Baby’s and Chicago’s Lil Durk’s collaboration The Voice of the Heroes hit streaming platforms today. Teased in March, the project is a power move from the two acts whose stars rose immeasurably in the past year. Among other successes, last June, Lil Baby found his place in the summer’s uprisings against anti-black racism and policing by releasing “The Bigger Picture,” an earnest protest anthem, to critical and popular acclaim. The song earned two Grammy nominations. In 2020, Lil Durk, a drill veteran of nearly fifteen years,...

After three straight years with Kelly Clarkson as host, the Billboard Music Awards have a new voice in that role. Nick Jonas will assume the duties for the May 23 show on NBC, to be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
It’s the latest in a line of hosting gigs for Jonas, who hosted “Saturday Night Live” on Feb. 25 and had a less high-profile role announcing Oscar nominations with his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, on March 15. His latest solo album, “Spaceman,” came out March 12, following on the heels of the Jonas Brothers’ 2019 reunion album “Happiness Begins.”
It’s Jonas’ first time as the Billboard Awards’ host, but it’s not just Clarkson that he is succeeding in the role. The show has picked musicians over other personalities as hosts, with Ludacris having hosted or co-hosted for four years before Clarkson took it over for three. That’s...

The Weeknd is the leading nominee for the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, with his 16 nods putting him ahead of DaBaby, with 11, the late Pop Smoke, with 10, and country singer Gabby Barrett, who’s up for nine.
Meghan Thee Stallion was the second most named female artist in Thursday morning’s announcement, coming in with seven nominations. Bad Bunny, Drake, the late Juice Wrld and Chris Brown also have seven chances this year. Lil Baby and Morgan Wallen have six nominations apiece, followed by Justin Bieber and Doja Cat with five.
Dick Clark Productions addressed Wallen’s six nods, saying he would not be invited to participate in the show despite his nominations because his recent actions did not meet with the show’s “core values.”
The Billboard Awards are not voted upon, per se, but reflect data collected by the music trade publication for its charts from streaming, sales, airplay and social engagement.
