After graduating from the University of Washington in 1992 with a BA in
creative writing, Casey Chinn enrolled in the University of
Washington's Film and Video certificate program. Upon completion of the
course he began working on the locally produced television show, Bill
Nye the Science Guy, remaining with the show through the taping of its
third season in 1995. It was during his stint at Bill Nye, that Casey
made his directorial debut, with two fake commercials which aired
during the "Plants" episode.
Since that time he has produced, directed, and edited music videos for Seattle Bands, $10,000 Gold Chain and Nevermore, and as well the short films, "Dealer Antes", and "Confidence", for his production company, Oddyssian Encounters.
His latest project is The Red Boot Diaries (2001), a music oriented comedy show which he co-created along with Brett Nemeroff. The pilot episode, titled "The British Dilemma" premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival in 2001.
When not writing and directing, Chinn works as an editor on numerous short films and documentaries.
