Raymond Patrick(I)
- Cinematographer
Raymond Patrick lives in New York, but he's a citizen of the world. His work has taken him to 51 countries and over 300 cities worldwide; from Marrakesh to the Maldives, Shanghai, Berlin, South Africa, Iceland, Seoul, Stockholm, Sicily, Lisbon, Balearic Islands, San Sebastian, Saigon, Paris, Botswana, and Buenos Aires. He has made a particular specialty of shooting in Japan, where he has traveled 43 times and lived for two extended periods.
Inspired by his father's love of photography, he took his first class at age 14, and within a year, he was a Pepsi Skateboard Team photographer. Later Raymond assisted photographer and director Steven Klein. This pivotal experience opened his mind to how a photographer works on the New York level.
He's come a long way since then. Raymond recently did the cinematography and still images on the short Covid-19 Film Everything Can Wait. He also shot stills on three Cisco films (two in Japan), including a 2020 Olympics film called Shokunin. He's shot twice for Salesforce Tokyo, and also for Lexus, IBM's Annual Report, Nobu Hotels, and Kamakura Shirts Japan. He has photographed mavericks from Ferran Adria to Anthony Bourdain, with whom he shared a post-shoot drink, and even shot a Lexus GS Hybrid at Fuji Raceway as it topped 150 miles per hour-from the cockpit.
