Shooting on day five, Sandhu shot the same score as Hungarian Akos Karoly Nagy, who was placed fifth on countback, with the top four spots being occupied by Chinese shooters. Zhang Zhihao was at the top of that pile with a score of 294. The top six qualify for the finals, scheduled for Friday.

New Delhi, July 17 (Ians) India’s Abhinav Shaw and Gautami Bhanot won the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team gold on Day Two of the International Shooting Sport Federation (Issf) World Championship Juniors in Changwon, South Korea, defeating the French pairing of Oceanne Muller and Romain Aufrere 17-13, in the gold medal match.
This was India’s third gold of the competition, which means they find themselves on the second spot in the medal tally currently, with a silver and two bronze medals to boot, the National Rifle Association of India (Nrai) informed in a release on Monday.
China leads the tally with the same number of gold and bronze as India, but with an additional silver to show for their efforts.

Arjun overwhelmed Army marksman Dharmendra Singh Gaharwar 16-6 in the final of the men’s 10m air pistol T2 competition, while Palak got the better of state-mate Rhythm Sangwan 16-12 in a much closer gold medal match, in the corresponding women’s event.
Arjun qualified third in qualification with a score of 583 while Dharmendra grabbed the final and eighth qualifying spot with a 579. Sumit Raman of Haryana topped with 586. New Delhi, Aug 23 (Ians) Haryana’s Sarabjot Singh won the Men’s 10m Air Pistol T6 trials at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting range, defeating the Army’s Dharmendra Singh Gaharwar 17-15 in a closely fought gold medal match-up.
Sarabjot had topped the qualifiers with a score of 586 while Dharmendra made the top eight in fifth place with an effort of 582.
In the semifinals, Sarabjot topped again with an aggregate of 255.6 while Dharmendra followed him to the final in second place with 251.8.
In the Junior Men’s final, it was Uttar Pradesh’s Naved Chaudhary who came up trumps with a 16-12 win over Uttarakhand’s Abhinav Deshwal. Naved qualified in third place with a score of 583 while Abhinav was one above him on the same score but with more inner 10s.
In the Youth category, it was Haryana yet again as Samrat Rana came out a 16-14 winner over Rajasthan’s Abhinav Choudhary.
